@@STarWalker8He wrote these withJohn Kalishes, but they had a falling out. There weren’t enough for an album. After that he didn’t write any more songs . I’m also wondering if it was caught up some estate battle.
The one thing that always grabs my attention and causes me to focus on someone else is when I see them show a high level of humility, especially in spite of being incredibly talented, blessed with looks others would sell their souls to get their hands on, and a genuine demeanor that is always respectful of others, and who always seem to be comfortable and happy with who they are. This guy was just what Ric Ocasek needed to start these Cars. RIP Ben & Ric
Such a hot, sexy beautiful man, great musician, great voice.....love you, miss you, Ben!!! There will never be another like you....perfect blend of masculine and feminine.... GORGEOUS BEN!!!!!!!!
Just rediscovering The Cars after all these years. I had no idea of the story of what happened to them. I thought they just broke up like most bands do. I'm very saddened by what happened as a lot of people are. Ben's unreleased songs are incredible and this song is wonderful I listen to it a lot. I read that Ben did go to Los Angeles with his songs I believe to Columbia Records but they rejected them. That seems when he really went off the rails between the years of 1995 1998. Can you imagine being rejected after you were a star and with good songs, it must have been another blow for him. Great fully he is being vindicated as to who he really was, and the real story is coming out told by friends, family, etc. Thank you Ben Orr for your gifts!!!!
his smile could light up the stormiest night! watch his interview with Mark Goodman, just type in, MTV Ben Orr interview, and watch up close that amazing smile!
Good Question. Short answer: He wasn't a fame whore. Ben seems to have been a truly simple, humble introvert who didn't date the "right" people, go to the "right" parties, or self-promote in the way required to become a major "star". The few attempts he did make come across as unnatural and uncomfortable for him (although completely endearing to many of us). He just liked to cook, be outdoors, and, above all, play music. That's it. For me part of his allure has been "discovering" him. 😍
Besides his stage acting, emoting his songs, I see his shyness come through. He seems to be a gentle sort. I adore him and his stage presence. And the more I get to know about him personally, I see him as a salt of the earth type of man. Never forgotten, sorely missed. Grant him eternal life oh Lord.
I believe Ben as the ultimate rock star, I will never get over his beauty inside and out, and I do think he was a very down to earth person and he got his just rewards in Heaven.
Perfect to play with Ric Ocasek, who wrote most of songs but marketed himself as lead singer too, even tho Ben ruled there. All blessed to work so well together. Ric couldn't have handled another ego.
Ben's passing was so heartbreaking. The sadness remains after all these years. He was a fabulous singer, front man and guitar player. He was so beautiful on the inside and out. I'm sure every girls dream. I know he's mine. He was so charming. What a tragedy. RIP BEN, YOUR THE BEST.

Truthfully, I don't know. Late '88 thru early '93 must have been a difficult period for Ben for many reasons. The details of his life during that time span are extremely hard to come by. The breakup of The Cars and his partnership with Diane Grey Page, etc.
I read that Diane left him during that time for someone she had been seeing also the drinking had became a issue it left him heart broken and devastated he really fell apart Diane was quoted as saying that he struggled with shyness and other demons regardless he’s loved and missed no one else like him
I think even today's women would've liked Benjamin as he has the perfect balance of masculine and feminine to his face. Today's girls like more feminine guys..I think Benjamin was amazing, he looks very like Rutger Hauer but less rugged.
Atsejam, I can't help but feel that this isn't quite the whole story. He does seem to be a shy guy in public, who adopted a stage persona while he was performing. But why didn't he release the second album? Such wonderful songs! He apparently loved to tour, so that kind of promotion wouldn't have been a problem for him. Was it that he didn't want to do interviews and TV show appearances?
I'm going to guess that it was probably a money issue, at least partly. Back then it really wasn't easy to just release an album, you needed record company backing, etc. It wasn't like to day where you can record everything on your computer with Pro Tools, sell the MP3's and do some social media promos to get the word out. I mean I know it wasn't impossible to release a truly indie album but it was harder to make it financially feasible. It wasn't until not long before he died that it started to become easier to do with the internet and everything.
I know, it should've been massive! Just singing along at the end "Who-oh-oh!" and thinking it should be on the closing credits of some edgy crime show. It would fit great. IT NEEDS TO BE HEARD!!!
There will NEVER be anyone, ever, that had the talent, gorgeous looks and humble beautiful personality as Benjamin Orr. He had it all. Benjamin Orr is the Ultimate Rock Star. He was Beautiful !!! They need to release these songs ! I could cry he is so amazing !!!! I love you Benjamin!!!

Lo Ryder lmfaoo your comments crack me up lol, I've read a lot of them on various cars videos .
Truthfully, I don't know. Late '88 thru early '93 must have been a difficult period for Ben for many reasons. The details of his life during that time span are extremely hard to come by. The breakup of The Cars and his partnership with Diane Grey Page, etc.
I read that Diane left him during that time for someone she had been seeing also the drinking had became a issue it left him heart broken and devastated he really fell apart Diane was quoted as saying that he struggled with shyness and other demons regardless he’s loved and missed no one else like him
Suzanne Butler dear Benjamin..my heart breaks for him, truly. I think he really did love Diane, perhaps she was the love of his life...
@@suzannebutler9805 Wait, she was seeing someone else at the same time at the end? I hadn't heard that before.
The most handsome singer Ben orr
I think even today's women would've liked Benjamin as he has the perfect balance of masculine and feminine to his face. Today's girls like more feminine guys..I think Benjamin was amazing, he looks very like Rutger Hauer but less rugged.
Rutger handsome also he's Dutch I married a Dutchman they are handsome men
I agree. I find androgynous-looking guys to be extra sexy! Ben (of course!), David Cassidy, David Bowie, David Essex, David Gilmour...
I heard from someone who knew him that they changed with his mood and what he was wearing - blue/grey/green. Sigh.
My ex's eyes did that too. Same colour range too.
Hazel eyes
This is a great song!
Great Video!! ❤️
all ways in my heart
Beautiful and VERSATILY talented. Who matches that comment that also was ignored?
Do we know why ORR Band disbanded, or what happened that Benj. went on to Big People? I'm not sure I've come across anything about that. Anyone?
Some of his solo songs were better than the ones he sang with The Cars. This one is magnificent 👌.❤❤😊😊
Que hermosa voz un gran compositor brillanteartista graciaas Sonia Guerrero de Argentina💝🙋🙋
Can't find this song on spotify 😔
Such a dark song. Who or what was it about? Very mysterious and sexy too!
So why wasn't this ever released??
I know, it should've been massive! Just singing along at the end "Who-oh-oh!" and thinking it should be on the closing credits of some edgy crime show. It would fit great. IT NEEDS TO BE HEARD!!!
That's correct Monsieur
