- There’s so much science these days about how important it is to have a healthy gut biome (bacterial population) for optimal health, and real science about how many diseases are caused by dysbiosis (having an unhealthy gut bacterial population). Today I am digging into some common terms that many of us don’t understand, including “pre-biotics” and “probiotics” and whether we need to take them, or if we can find them in our diet. Most importantly, what does the science say about whether these actually help?

Your nutritional videos have been amazing lately. You explain everything very thoroughly, but with language that makes it easy to understand. Thank you.
Thanks Anne!
Wish I had a doctor like you in my area.

I second that!
Hey there Mary, I have a video on how you can find a menopause doctor in your area. Have you seen that? You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/YmtVzZ4J7sg/v-deo.html
Fermented products can, however, bring on migraines in some people. I have menstrual migraines most months that are getting worse as I get closer to menopause so I have to be careful. So this is an example that some things can be a catch-22. I take an Inulin fiber supplement daily (which is also a prebiotic as mentioned) and a broad spectrum probiotic supplement daily as well since I stay away from fermented foods, and try to keep my dairy intake as low as I can (also due to dairy sometimes being a migraine trigger). Just my two cents about what works well for me. The bonus is regular bowel movements and once my body adjusted to more fiber and the probiotics - I feel overall less bloated and gassy. All that is definitely worth a few extra pills a day!
Go on all fruit diet if it is really bad . More iron in diet too like burdock root sassprilla . Mostly melons .cucumbers .coconut water mangos
