Potential Breakout Players for UAAP Season 87

- We are redoing our list because the UA-cam short was cursed hahaha
It's less than two months from the UAAP season and this marks the start of our preview episodes so stay tuned for more episodes in the coming weeks.
The Boleros discuss the potential breakout candidates for this upcoming season and of course, no more Mason Amos or Jonnel Policarpio.
Good podcast! Listened to it during my commute home last night; made the trip feel much shorter 😅
My picks (not already mentioned in the episode):
NU - Jolo Manansala. Dude has hops! Could definitely be NU's energy guy off the bench, and be a key contributor in their season.
UE - Wello Lingolingo. Consistent 3 point shooter last season, and UE will need that shooting to support Precious Momowei in the paint.
UST - Ashon Andrews. He wasn't able to show his chops when he played for UP, but I think he'll thrive in Pido's wing-centric system.

Lingo-Lingo has to improve his ball handling and prove he's not only a shooter. For Andrews, i hope he gets more playing time. He has a lot of competition in those wing positions

ADMU- Tuano! Eto sa Pre-season sa kanya ako impressed.
UP- Torculas- Anyone can breakout on that team kaya pinili ko na lang talaga sya dahil underrated yung athleticism nya.
UST- Crisostomo.
UE- Lingo-Lingo. Eto Pinaka Sniper talaga sa UE sa ngayon. Mr. Automatic talaga.
NU- Palacielo! Bata mo Gab 😂 pero I haven't seen him play sa Asia basket? Is he injured?
AdU- Erolon. From Magic bunot to a Reliable Three-point shooter.
DLSU- Motor Mike! That's it.

Agree! We don't think any of them will be breakout players though. UP is just too stacked
Abadiano for UP. Will be the consistent 3rd option behind JD and Francis
Let's see. He has to share minutes with Alarcon, Torres, Fortea, Walker, and Briones. But yeah, he's the best among those hehe

@@bolerosph maybe in some games but against the big dogs,like in filoil finals, UP has a tight rotation and Gerry will shine in these games

FEU - Cholo
NU - Palacielo
UP - Lopez to superstar/BLeague level

Di ako sure kay Cholo. I feel like FEU will prioritize Pre, Pasaol, Bautista, and Daa over him - Gab
But the Lopez one 🙏🙏🙏 sana totoo. I want to see a KQ level leap from him
@gfbs7004 I feel like he sort of has the same strengths and weaknesses as Poli and so I think could alot of that usage
@@bolerosph with Cholo, I feel like he found a role that works last year as a utility big. If he can fully embrace and adapt to that role I think he'll be unlocked
For Adamson Manu Anabo - hes been playing well during the preseason games wont be surprised if he's a starter this season.
Matt Erolon - he'll probably will be the backup to Montebon, we all know that he's a good shooter but his playmaking has improved a lot wont also be surprised if has some big games this season

Most people dont talk about him that much but I think Raven Cortez will have a breakout season this year. Sulit yun minutes pag nasa court sya.
We love Raven Cortez. We were raving after seeing him him live during pinoyliga. He has worked on his range too, showing he can now shoot from the 3pt line. -Maui
Kyle Gamber he was i guess the forgotten rookie last year. If he can get some playing time. Get his confidence up. There were some games during the pre season. He has showed he can ball. Yeah he still get frustrated when players gets physical with him. But only way he can get over that is really getting some playing time and touches.
We're looking forward to what Kyle can do! With Mason gone, they will need scoring and Kyle can provide that

We didn't include rookies as potential breakout players
Also, we haven't seen him play. Kind of hard to have him on any list when he haven't seen him play a single game in the Philippines

Manzano, Bautista, Torculas, Palacielo and Abadam for me, candidates for this.
Manzano is already a star and go-to-guy though. But maybe you see him putting up bigger numbers than last year?
@@bolerosph Wala na sina Jerom and Vince, Sabandal for sure will miss ng UAAP 87 so maybe he could step up more para malagay sa contention Adamson.
