Welcome to Thrift Roulette, a DIY / upcycle game where we randomly select a home goods item and celebrity and make something inspired by their space. Here's how to play - spin the wheel to select which home goods item you will be making. Next throw a dart at the dart board and whichever celeb it lands on is who you will be making it for. After watch the Architectural Digest Open Door episode of the selected celebrities home. Finally go to the thrift store and DIY / upcycle your selected item to one that you can see fitting into their home!!

I want to see this but with the members of the TSG team stuck on the board and then Becky, Kelsey or Rachael has to design an item for their home which matches their aesthetic I think that would be so fun to see! 😊

Now that everyone has done a round of this challenge, I think a fun variation would be to have all 3 of the sorry girls have to design the same randomly selected item/celebrity and then have the rest of the office do a blind vote on who's they think captured that celeb's vibes the best and who they think designed each item

I hoped she would do a detail on the side. Like wicker or wrapping. Ashley had a lot of funky chairs and this definitely felt a bit too tame/simple for her style imo.

One thing though… I was thinking, that in order for the audience/viewers to guess along the “judges”… why not edit the last part (the judging part) in the beginning; maybe have a poll or whatever (not sure if that’s still a feature in UA-cam). Then after the guessing/judging reveal the bts of how each diy item was made. Just my thoughts 😁✌🏻🫶🏼 whatcha think?

For the chair I would have tried to wrap like some sort of wicker or edging material around the legs, etc to give it that more natural look a lot of the items in her house had... but I can't remember if the rules are you can ONLY use thrifted materials...

For the chair I think she should have used the front bar to make it look kinda hammockie, she had lots of slouchy chairs
I think an amazing DIY for the chair would have been to get an old deck chair frame or sun lounger and make a macrame sort of netting, like the really cool chair in the video! Maybe that's too obvious to completely recreate something?! I really hope you get what I mean and please attempt that in a separate video! Haha

I loved them all. Rachael always does well and she fits the team wonderfully. It blows me away you don’t have on/off switches on your power points though
For anyone who wants to do something similar, you will save yourself time and grief by "shaving" down the fluff along the edges before sewing. Just turn your scissors almost parallel to the fabric and carefully cut off as much fluff along the edge up to the stitch line as possible so that you're not having to squish as much as you sew. It also helps it lay flat when you turn it right side out and not bunch up.

OHHH EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD!! thoughfor the chair, the silver chair frame was giving nooo for me :( a light-tone or even a dark-tone wood frame or even just painting it would be fine ahahah it will give a more rustic feel 💚
