Hi Steve, I got my RAV 4 XLE Premium last year in Sept 2023. Remote connect was working perfectly, then decided to stop working on June 2024 even though the one year trial had not ended. I have brought my vehicle back to Toyota a total of 6 times already for them to fix this issue, and the problem is still not fixed. At first the SOS wasn’t even working (they fixed it), once the SOS had sound come out of it, I was instructed to get out the car do this do that; nothing worked so they kept sending me back to Toyota dealer. I keep getting the your vehicle is not equipped for remote connection, pending activation, and code 42 error. What can I do in this matter? I bought the vehicle with zero miles and remote connection was the primary reason. They have done the DCS handshakes and all, yet still not working, but now I’m being charge for a service that it’s not even working.
Hey Steven I know this question isn’t related to the video but I see you work at a Toyota dealership, is there a good extended warranty on the new tundra pro hybrid?
2020 Rav4 Limited. I have had the system linked to my account, and the app reports tire pressures, state of the locks, active subscription, so I know it has cellular connection. Nav also works beautifully. All updates current via usb update. Still, remote connect always returns the "Request could not be completed. Please contact your dealer for assistance [42]", regardless of the operation. It even snitches when a door is left unlocked. Car can comm with app, but app cant comm with car. Why is the data only one way? And what can a dealer do to fix it?
Steve the remote connection should be free on your vehicles for as long as you own it. Toyota would sell more vehicles! After 1 year if I wish to keep the remote start system it cost me $100 for a year subscription if paid for the whole year up front. Toyota would sell more vehicles if this service cost was free after 1 year. I'm tempted to have a qualified shop to put an after market system on my vehicles after manufacturers warranty runs out. I'll save $100/year. What is your opinions on this matter? I realize you do work for a Toyota dealership! This is just my opinion. Opinions may vary. Keep the vids coming to Pittsburgh Pa. Have a nice Easter my friend😊
I personally pay for it monthly. I see the benefit for it. The app does require a cost to keep it working on toyota's end so they are passing that along. Could it be free, sure and they could charge you 1000 up front for remote start and a free sub. I think they should give a way that maybe a dealer could offer extended subscriptions so maybe you have it included for the lease or loan term for a cost or free if the dealer was to subsidize it. Most people get used to it and love it and pay to keep it.
When trying to set up, it won’t even let me access the authorization app in the vehicle. It’s not tappable on the screen. I have a 2022 Camry XLE. Any solution?
Remote start worked on my 2020 RAV 4 but few days ago i activated locking windows via physical key and unlocking windows via physical and remote key too by car scanner and then this remote start system decided to stop it's work Pressing 2 times lock button and holding it at the third time = no result to activate engine What's the problem and how to activate remote start?
my keyfob always has trouble. no matter how many batteries i replace it with. sometimes it doesnt work to lock and unlock my doors.. anybody dealing with the same thing?
Half the time the key fob won’t start my new 2024 Tundra. What are the problems there?
You need to hit the button within a second and a half. Don't wait for the lights to flash in between
My 2024 has the same problem as the tundra. It is no where near as easy and consistent as my king ranch diesel 4x4

I have a 2019 Avalon and my remote app tells me “Request could not be completed. Please contact the dealership”
2024 Rav4 Prime will only start the climate and not the vehicle. Is there a work around. also the key fob doesn't work for remote starting.
it works different on the prime

How about if your subscription is expired can you still remote start with the key fob?
Good question
Probably if your in line of sight of your vehicle, but far away I don't think so
The subscription should be free for as long as you own the car.
Just my opinion.

Yes you can
@@beachbums2008totally agree! What’s this subscription BS, especially when I paid $75,000 for my pick up truck!!! Should’ve gone with a Chevy or Ford!
I just got a Toyota Grand Highlander, but the Toyota app keeps asking me to “activate remote” each time I close out the app… any solutions? TIA!
Email me your vin to buyatoyotanashville@yahoo.com I'll fix it
@@stevenwelchtoyota hello Sir ! I am having the same issue with my Toyota rav4 can you help me too?

Another reason is they need to send the software update, we all waiting for it 😅
