A really practical helpful video. I got this kit as part of the Airfix tank mystery bundle in September this year. I think the bundle has changed since then but it is still available as part of the weathering bundle. Really appreciate how you put the tracks together. I have saved the video so I can refer back to it when I finally get round to building the kit. Thanks.
The instructions weren’t best, just a cut and paste job from the original Academy prints. Thanks for watching, hope u find the Tiger series of videos helpful 🙂🙂🙂
Putting aside the many issues the job you've done will no doubt produce a good looking tank in the end. I concur with your sentiment re tiny PE parts.....on my part, old hands and eyes don't gel with those bits and I tend to either scrunch them up or flip them to some obscure place in my hobby room. I built the old (1996) Tamiya Tiger 1 (initial production) last year and really enjoyed the kit which ended up ok OOB.....I suppose it had its issues but ultimately ended up being ok even though not quite accurate. Anyway, will be checking out the next video to see how you tackle the painting and weathering.
Thank you for watching, Airfix are charging quite a premium for their kits so I expected more. The kit itself was ok, although I still prefer Tamiya armour kits. Cheers
Before I buy this kit, quick question I know it's silly but it will tell you the number of track links to make individual tracks? Because I know some kits come with additional links for armour? Or would you have separate sprees for that
Hi, can’t remember to be honest. The versions in the kit one with additional armour on turret other without. Have a look at scalemates see if they have the instructions. If still struggling let me know.
If anyone is missing that Hose Sprue, don't worry about it... By the time the Battle of Kursk started most of those Air Cleaner Hoses were removed! They were stepped on, Shrapneled, the filters clogged up... F-it, take them off!
Test of memory for me on this kit. Separate tracks glued with Tamiya thin glue will be set after a couple of hours. I tend to leave it a couple of hours at least in place then peel away.
@@TheactualManofsteel I use Tamiya extra thin glue, assemble in a straight line. Leave for 10 mins or so then carefully bend around the drive wheel etc. I use pegs and clamps and leave in place overnight, then remove, I leave a gap in the links. Some people glue them to the wheels and then remove the wheels as a single assembly. That help?
@ if you build the tracks against a straight edge, ruler etc it helps. I tend to produce paint and weathering videos, maybe I’ll make a few more build ones. Hope it helps
Hi I'm just this minute making this kit but my wheels are wrong. It says to glue A5 and A6 together but this must be wrong as there's a big wide gap and shouldn't be. I've glued them all together now fs and not sure which A5 is supposed to be glued to. It's not A6 that's for sure! Any ideas?
Hi, not sure where my instructions are to be honest although I remember an issue with the order on the instructions. The kit is basically Academy with an Airfix sticker. I can send you a pic on instagram of my wheels if u message me.
I have no plans at the moment to make a Berlin dio, but I will again in the future. The closest I have at present is an SU100 and and simple Berlin what if with a Panther III
@@ctscalemodellinguk Sorry I'm late to the party - your video popped up on my recommended list and you have a new subscriber - but Airfix do two "Early's". A1363 is the one with the interior and is on my shelf waiting to for me to tackle it.
@@rustywarrior5288 thanks they sent me the missing part now, hope you like my approach to painting etc, just trying to uncomplicate the methods for good results.
Thanks for sharing the video, I recently bought Tamiya 1/35 early version (grey) as part of my first 5/6 coming back into the hobby, very helpful.
The Tamiya early is a nice kit, posted a video of it showing some hair spray technique. Thanks for watchin🙂
@@ctscalemodellinguk cheers, I’ve been hearing about this hair spray technique, must have a look thanks.
Literally same here, glad I went for the Tamiya one over this one

Haaaaa!! I just bought this kit last week and now your building it! Yes right on get crackin

Can I use tin aerosol primer instead of airbrushing.?
Hi, if you mean a rattle can then its what I use now, get it from a car/ auto store.

Nice enjoyable video Thank you for sharing your build its a pity that there all the injector marks on the tracks. Will look forward to the painting
Cheers mate for the support. I wished they had just issued the academy kit complete, it seems to have an interior. Think Airfix have missed a trick.
5:32 bend Mg34 😂

Hello, would this tank go with 132 scale model plastic soldiers?
Hi, not really sure. I only have 1/35 figures. 1/32 is only a little smaller so may be ok
How long can I leave the track after glueing before it won't bend?

How did you get those tracks to bend without snapping? I'm having an absolute nightmare with mine!!!! 😢

Review pls

Very good work, too bad the tow cables are not made of metal wire.
Cheers, there is some string etc, its quite a strange kit, as they have reduced it compared to what the Academy kit included.
I built this and had no issues with the build, no missing parts and no difficulty with the instructions
Hi, its a pity that all the academy parts weren’t included. Airfix would of benefited from an interior. Cheers for watching.
