  • For over a decade Andre Galvao has proven himself to be among the best-conditioned athletes in jiu-jitsu, so it's no surprise that Felipe Pena has entrusted the Atos leader to manage his strength and conditioning program ahead of Tezos WNO: Gordon Ryan vs Felipe Pena II on Saturday, February 25th!

maybe their strategy for a no time limit match is not based on a high intensity exercise. Maybe they are going for longer sets and an active rest making your body keep moving with no stop as long as possible.

Yeah but remember the only time Gordon won against Peña was Peña quitting due to exhaustion/ his mind not being there. If Gordon was so confident about his skill set against Peña he would have gone for a more aggressive game. Don’t get me wrong, he won fair and straight and his strategy worked very well. But that match was another world apart from the one against Galvao, whom Gordon dominated from the first to the last second of the match.

He’s probably putting ok a show for the crowd cuz he knows Gordon/Nicky and his team are looking at these videos to see how he is training and what his endurance levels and performance is at. He’s most likely acting out and faking most of these movements to make himself look weak, underrated and in no shape to fight someone of Gordon’s caliber.
Pra cima dele.

I’ve been in the fitness realm for many years, with a lot of certifications. From a professional standpoint the only half-decent training here was the overall conditioning, because of the overall time, plus the little bit of grip with the body weight hang. The standing chest press and single arm dumbbell press serve little to no purpose from a sport specific standpoint, especially the form with which they were done and the weight. Overall it looked to be a lot of sloppy form with light weight. Be sloppy with a ton of poundage, or strict with lighter weight. As you can see, here we have neither.

Need to add some kettlebells into that circuit if they want to get some real cardio work. Plus, I would do 30 seconds of work not 15.

I can't believe how unathletic these guys look. Not everyone can be gordon ryan but how about just don't make a video about it. Pena was hardly going, I workout harder than that. Perhaps they are trolling us and he is actually shredded.

@Matheus Marques this circuit was hilarious. The technique and the intensity were pathetic. Meanwhile, gordon ryan is going to war on the mats and working out like a professional athlete. My workouts are definitely harder than this circuit and I'm not about to go up against the best grappler in history.

I want Pena to win but judging by this video this is amateur work and amateur execution. This is not the way. With a strategy like this I don't see a future for Pena as we are in 2023 and training like we did in the 90s

A good circuit for health and fitness. But, for a fight it doesn't seem to be the most efficient, even a fight without time and against a guy of such a high level. I hope they show me that I'm wrong.
