- Опубліковано 17 лют 2023
- For over a decade Andre Galvao has proven himself to be among the best-conditioned athletes in jiu-jitsu, so it's no surprise that Felipe Pena has entrusted the Atos leader to manage his strength and conditioning program ahead of Tezos WNO: Gordon Ryan vs Felipe Pena II on Saturday, February 25th!

Well I know Gordon gonna have a field day with this one on his insta
When u make up the exercises when the camera arrives
The difference in technique instruction/drilling, training partners and training intensity leads me to believe Gordon has the advantage.
No way bro! Kaynan is a high level competitor and i really think he will beat up Gordon soon. Plus, he has Galvao and many others! High level technique ! My opinion. Cheers!
maybe their strategy for a no time limit match is not based on a high intensity exercise. Maybe they are going for longer sets and an active rest making your body keep moving with no stop as long as possible.
@@RafaelDutra-jp3ez that’s what I’d assume too if Galvao didn’t say the opposite at the beginning of the video
Very nice of andre to show him what didn’t work for him.
😂
Damn.
It is crazy how big the gap is between gordon and other humans
They should hire Conor for cardio training
Yeah but remember the only time Gordon won against Peña was Peña quitting due to exhaustion/ his mind not being there. If Gordon was so confident about his skill set against Peña he would have gone for a more aggressive game. Don’t get me wrong, he won fair and straight and his strategy worked very well. But that match was another world apart from the one against Galvao, whom Gordon dominated from the first to the last second of the match.
@@kramnic8240 it’s a no time limit match. There’s strategy in not being too aggressive at first, gotta let your opponent cook before you go for the sub.
How crazy would it be if you looked in the background and saw a film crew with Gordon Ryan in the garage across the street 🤣
Dude, I think we are in for a very similar match as the previous one based off of Pena's lethargic workout. You would expect someone to work extra hard given the last match and the fact that the cameras were present...
Also his coach/friend and other training partner didn't call him out... he is going to get pummeled
Agreed.
I’m obviously a jiu jitsu neophyte, however, I’ve been weight training along with doing strength and conditioning work for different sports.
It’s obvious to see that Peña is nowhere near the athlete Gordon is right now. When it comes to competing at the highest level of your given sport, hundredths of a second matter.
@@calebberaud9747 I for sure agree. it makes me wonder if he is being coy for the camera to make Gordon believe he isn't taking too seriously. the other thing, Pena is naturally more of an athlete than Gordon is, but Gordon seems to work harder at it
Cara boca gringo. Pena já esfolou Gordon e vai fazer de novo.
For those americans questioning the pace of Pena… maybe it would be of help for you to know that in Brazil his nickname is ‘preguiça’… which stands for ‘lazyness’.
The guy is slow.
slow as fuck, can't even move weights!
3:00 wow….Felipe looks unstoppable…….
Bruh
Ol boy said he’s worked harder than ever in this camp… then posts this 😂
@@S.-.V 😂
hahahaha😅
Holy shit this had me dying 😂😂😂
Felipe is so done
So lazy
Peña not only changes the rules in his matches but he also changed the way his coach asked him to do them and he sand bagged it the whole way through it.
Pena putting no effort In looool
Gordon does a 30 minute sparring war with Meregali and continues with another 10 minute war just to top it off. Meanwhile Pena does a workout that can only be described as something a high-school kid made up on the spot when his skinnier friend asked him for a training program. "Trust me, this is what Arnie did all day. These burn your bicepticons like hell brah, you won't be able to train for a month brah"
I’ve been saying bicepticons for years like a jackass. I’m so thankful someone else is with me lol.
If you’re sorry you don’t do that at the gym, you’re very naive! Just remembering that Atos has Kaynan, Rutuolos brothers, Lucas Hulk and others world class competitors
It’s very nice from Galvão, Jiu Jitsu is changing for better. Open his door to help Pena, it’s so cool.
Thanks for the content FloGrappling
Not hating but Pena was barely moving the weight around
facts
yea he already quit in his mind…
I think he just views this as a paid vacation to San Diego
This is embarrassing jesus. 😂. You’d think he could at least have mustered up 1 min of intensity while the cameras were rolling to not appear like complete shit.
Maybe this is psychological warfare and he’s just trying to make Gordon underestimate him. 😂
If this is the intensity Pena is going to bring against Gordon, then Gordon might as well make an instructional during the match
this looks like Gordon's warm-up session. gl bro
Andre the dude with pictures of himself everywhere in his crib. Good luck Felipe!
They have to be trolling, they want to be underestimated. I refuse to believe this is world champion level planning and work ethic.
Philip is half assing everything. Bro step it UP
Should have Pena doing 60 minute meditation sessions to make sure his mind is strong enough to not quit this time
😂🤣😂
white belts talk like this
Well never know how having a best friend being murdered would affect Gordon, because he doesn't have any friends
@@armedjoy3045 you sound like a female with that comment🤣😂
@@armedjoy3045 yeah, best friend...
I have to say, the form and technique on some of these exercises is not good from pena and gracie...the test of how conditioned you are is to see how good you can maintain form and technique in the latter sets while still pushing through
k u do it
Who gives a shit about form and technique when doing weights? They ain’t weight lifters
@@PaulGreenAcademy they'll give a shit once they tear a pec muscle with these awful looking reps
@@maliksamarijones9304 k
@@briantran7683 I bet most of us hobbyists are doing more than this, let alone someone who is going up against gordon ryan. This is embarrassing.
Pumped for the rematch!
Nice circuit training to do for fast twitch! I do a fast rep of 30 reps without stopping. If I can't do 30 I'm too heavy, If I do more than 35, I'm too light. All the best to Felipe on his upcoming match. Should be an awesome match.
Did they only film the warm up?
I'll assume this is a feint to make Gordon thinks Pena isn't prepared for the match.
Wow Atos does have a lot of world champions in no gi but this going to be a whole other level of skill. I wonder how much this will improve his cardio in the fight
Did the speed of the video change to 0,5 when the drill started ? I am more motivated for a local tournament without price money haha
Pena doesn't look like he's messed with weights much. Bad posture in rows. Imagine if he has worked out more .
you can tell by his physique he just rolls and surfs
They have to be trolling
For everyone saying he’s not training properly or he’s not even putting out, remember that combat sports like boxing, MMA, Jiu Jitsu and such are 80% mental. He’s probably putting ok a show for the crowd cuz he knows Gordon/Nicky and his team are looking at these videos to see how he is training and what his endurance levels and performance is at. He’s most likely acting out and faking most of these movements to make himself look weak, underrated and in no shape to fight someone of Gordon’s caliber. This dude is one of the best in his sport, and the dude training him is possibly one of the greatest ever. They’re not dumb.
they have enough money to hire a real physical trainer, why they dont do that
Pra cima dele.
Whatever happens, it's good to know Felipe is trying to be the best version of himself.
By half assing the workout and doing what he wanted instead of following the direction of his “coach” ? Yeah he’s nailing it.

Someone put this beside one of Gordon's workouts.
High level athletes with low level of physical preparation workout!
Now do one for Giancarlo!
2:22 jumping like that kid in high school Gym class that plays CoD 20 hours a day
to muito na torcida pelo preguiça podia colocar legenda em portugues Flo tem um grande publico brasileiro assitindo esse conteudo so um toque !!!! Please put subtitles in Portuguese, there is a large Brazilian audience watching your content.!!!
If you look at the highest performing athletes in the highest paid sports, they do GPP; strength training for strength; endurance training for endurance; and sports specific training on the field/on the mats. Is BJJ an exception to these principles or are they just falling into the same errors that NFL, track and field, boxing, wrestling, MMA eventually grew out of after decades of experimentation?
Go Felipe! The job has been done. Galvão is doing so well 🔥
while Gordon show a masterclass of technique in The sparring from meregali, Pena do the same thing that andre did, Lift to weight, He only showed that's good in lift to weight
I think Felipe is feeling the age. He is slowing down and Gordon is moving up.
They shouldn't have filmed this. Why André Galvão became a physical trainer if he himself has a physical trainer. The whole workout makes no sense.
Felipe is training really lame, not pushing himself at all, it looks like he is not even trying to. The fire in his eyes and the hunger seem gone.
Tell Andre that he needs a new furnace and to hit up Sherlock Plumbing Heating and Air! We service all of San Diego 😁
at this point we just feel for Peña
I’m a fan of Felipe and Gordon. I got my money on Gordon though. I know styles make fights but since Galvao destroyed him in ADCC and then Gordon destroyed Galvao, I think Gordon takes it
Interesting perspective. I think the easier way to pick Gordon is that he literally made Pena quit in the last match, then Pena went on to lose to a purple belt and a child from 2 weight classes lower
@@GiBJJIsForChildren I don't have idea who wins, but that "made Pena quit" is pure bullshit. One of Pena best friends and fellow jj champion was killed cowardly by gunshot few days before. Nothing that Gordon can ever do to Pena hits harder than this.
@@1est1 It's great that he has that excuse. I wonder what he'll come up with after this next loss
@@1est1 I mean it really hit him 35+ minutes into the match, how convenient. If he was in such bad mental state, he should have pulled out of the fight. Very unsportsmanlike and dishonorable to take away from Gordon's victory by using the death of his friend, at the exact time that he was getting gassed out. I too am curious to see what he will come up with after losing to this match as well.
He’s so ready………………………..so ready………..🫣
Let’s go champ 💪submit Gordon
Let's go, Pena. I'm rooting for you to win. 💪
well after reading the comments, i have nothing to add lol
Gordon is going to win in my opinion but interesting to see if teaming up with Andre will help even the slightest in against Gordon
Gordon's guna have a field day on the 25th 😂
Alow me to try to understand: the guy who defeated the King is trainning with the one who lost to the King?! Holy whoooooo
You mean a monster "supplement" program?
Gordon's going to smash him much faster this time.
So doing pointless crossfit workouts with diabolically poor form will give you the edge over the best grappler in the World! Wow! I better get in on this!
For all the people criticizing the intensity of the workout. Pena may be sand-bagging to give Gordon a false sense of security. Pena's core strength is likely still incredibly strong. I think he was just born that way. Gordon needs to be wary and stick to driving that Corolla.
Dude in the pink shirt stopped doing the isometric exercise before the countdown was done
This has got to be the worst circuit I have ever seen…
Big facts.
Fell asleep during this. Andre update the Cardio Equipment Bro !
Ao menos no treino físico, Ryan claramente na vantagem
I strongly suspect this is NOT the most effective way to do S&C for grappling.
It’s hilarious to me how Peña is being trained by the guy who Gordon just made tap at adcc 😂😂😂
Should have Peña just get on galvaos juice stack.
Peña trains like he’s ready, ready to lose. He must not care about the win, he trains like a baby.
I’ve been in the fitness realm for many years, with a lot of certifications. From a professional standpoint the only half-decent training here was the overall conditioning, because of the overall time, plus the little bit of grip with the body weight hang. The standing chest press and single arm dumbbell press serve little to no purpose from a sport specific standpoint, especially the form with which they were done and the weight. Overall it looked to be a lot of sloppy form with light weight. Be sloppy with a ton of poundage, or strict with lighter weight. As you can see, here we have neither.
After watching this Gordan has got this easy
hes toast
In all honesty, I'd have to hope to think that this was some master strategy to lull Ryan into a 'false sense of security' that his fitness is sooo superior...When you've spent enough time down the youtube rabbithole looking at training videos of up and coming championship fights, this would have to be the lamest. All the best to him, hope he shuts Ryan up but man, the best thing about that video was 'Highway to Hell'. Bon rules!!
Andre is such a Fitness Professional😅 its like working out with a guy who think he knows proper Strength & Conditioning for grappling and mma😅
This must be a troll.
Didn’t andre galvao lose to Gordon Ryan
Pena is lounging
I try not to back seat comment this stuff. I weight lift religiously and do jiujitsu. I compete in tournaments. But I’m nowhere near the prestige or level that Andre is and never will be. This looks like ass though lol. It just looks amateurish as hell. Idk. Maybe he knows some super secret BJJ workout tips I don’t.
Açaí and Jesus
Impossible to disagree with Gordon: most of the pro BJJ practitioners are actually amateurish.
That's a conditioning training that a skater boy does using his moms weights.
Looks like Pena's back is hurting
As in injured
Hmmmm this is like "anyhow" workout
Some of these are.... Variations, I suppose you could put it, on well accepted exercises. I guess.
lol
Felipe doesn’t seem to understand what an explosive movement is.
Watching Pena jump up on to the workout bench was very telling. Man is not very light on his feet. Not very coordinated. Not very agile. Most big guys aren’t. Needs to drop all this weight lifting and start doing some touch butt in the park asap
might want to try this brand new technique... called progressive overload...
Need to add some kettlebells into that circuit if they want to get some real cardio work. Plus, I would do 30 seconds of work not 15.
Sad thing about this is that no matter how many superstars he trains with he still won't beat Gordon!
But he beat gordon twice already
@@2submit a few years ago but not going to happen again!
They have to be trolling.
not even doing what his coach said? also working at like 1/4 the intensity intended
I can't believe how unathletic these guys look. Not everyone can be gordon ryan but how about just don't make a video about it. Pena was hardly going, I workout harder than that. Perhaps they are trolling us and he is actually shredded.
So mind boggling. A fucking professional athlete and he trains like that hahahaha
I doubt your bum ass is a fourth as athletic as they’re.
@Matheus Marques this circuit was hilarious. The technique and the intensity were pathetic. Meanwhile, gordon ryan is going to war on the mats and working out like a professional athlete. My workouts are definitely harder than this circuit and I'm not about to go up against the best grappler in history.
He is training to a jiu jitsu match not for bodybuilding. It's wayyy diferentes.
@@ramon1930 so doing shit reps is somehow going to help that? People train harder getting ready for grappling industry tournaments.
I want Pena to win but judging by this video this is amateur work and amateur execution. This is not the way. With a strategy like this I don't see a future for Pena as we are in 2023 and training like we did in the 90s
Gordon will win.
If you are not string enough, simply take more juice
Pena does circuit training in slow motion. This guy is a professional???? Show this footage to the dagestanis and they would be offended
whoever captioned this has to know they were being funny right?
A good circuit for health and fitness. But, for a fight it doesn't seem to be the most efficient, even a fight without time and against a guy of such a high level. I hope they show me that I'm wrong.
is it 15 seconds on or did he say 50 seconds on?
@@Blue-ek2zx i heard 15
@@joaovictorbalbi ok, as you mentioned, good for general fitness but not specific to the sport.
Yep lifting weights will surely make the difference... not learning better JJ...
Tren hard and build your dynasty on cheating. Oss
