The way I see it, the main difference in Tapia this year is in his mental state. He keeps his head cool and finds a way to win and play well in the deciding moments again and again - even while injured these last few weeks. We've seen this pretty much every time the couple has been in a bit of trouble this year that Tapia just steps up. He used to play with older experienced guys (Sanyo, Lima, Bela) who took leadership, but I feel Tapia has grown from playing with a younger more intense guy (Coello), where Tapia himself needs to be the guy who keeps it all together. To me, Agustin Tapia is now the best player in the world. So while coach Pablo says that it is joint leadership I feel that Tapia is the mental leader on the court, even in matches where Coello is the one smashing winners left and right.
100% agree that where Tapia has improved a lot from the last season is on his mental state. Now he is a complete player, no necessarily the one who will have more winners or more highlights!
