I was born in Rome and have been living in Rome since then. I don't really find proper words to write a deserved comment. it is absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD !!!
Imagine how useful this ability would be in the 18th century, when they just invented the air balloon. All he'd have to do is take an air balloon ride above any city, paint a map, and sell it for profit, he'd be a rich man.
My brother has autism and he is extremely good at math. He remembers birthdays you tell him someones birthday and who they are and you can ask him 10 years later and he will remember. He listens to music and remembers the song after the first time he listens to it, all the words, and the notes and keys. Unfornatually he is not as verbally abled like all the other people on youtube, people with autism all have a gift and are amazing.
Stephen sweetheart you are the real man. beautiful. i am really amazed with your talent. spread the word..........spread your talent .............. dont ever stop....
+Queen B Autistic people excell in areas in which they choose themselves. Usually it's just a passion that they dedicate themselves to and become really good at. Of course for this specific video it helps that the guy can memorize everything.
Autistic people DON'T CHOOSE their talents or gifts. They CAN'T. Savant skills are something that is discovered, and the degree of proficiency is unlike anything that can be taught. Having HFA, I have several abilities of which I am a Savant in, but I never wanted them...regardless of how impressive they are. It is a CURSE, and it haunts me every waking moment. I would rather have a more slightly more than average mind and be able to successfully go on more dates more easily... in exchange for the Savant skills I have.
I just mean that, maybe it is something he loves and is good at. But, I'm hoping that he gets to choose when and what he wants to draw and not have others telling him what to do. But, thank you for the replies!
this guy is amazing, i don't care wether he's autistic or not, he's great and talented and should be treated as the artist he is. that's the only thing that should be said about him. HE IS AN ARTIST. some fucking morons are always trying to put someonelse's gifts down. they are just jealous.
I am inclined to believe this. There are incredible extremities of what human bodies are capable of in some instances (see professional sports for instance). Well brain is capable of even more extremities. But there are some questions I have. How do you compose a static one-angled image from a dynamic perspective (helicopter flyovers)? Not only does he have a photographic memory, he also must have a magnificient composition skill. How can he know all the right angles, distances etc. if he only saw some parts from a different angle, height, distance etc.? Last but not least, if you gave me a photograph in front of me, I still wouldn't be able to draw it, so he also has some drawing skill.
Savants' capabilities are really fascinating stuff! In addition to that, studies in cognitive psychology have found that they aren't necessarily being "gifted" more than other people; engagement in deliberate practice has very important role, as well.
He is probably the smartest person alive lol. How can he just take a glimpse and draw that accurately? I mean especially how the buildings looks like, and how they are set. IT'S JUST IMPOSSIBLE (except for that guy).
Stephen Wiltshire MBE belongs to the 8th Wonder(s) Of The World. Plan to visit his Gallery one day. Wish I could purchase one of his works, but I would have to remortgage my home. Will have to settle for saving up for an autographed print instead.
*Scroll through the comments and see if you can find a pattern in people that are weirdly invested in discrediting this man and his ability. See if you can see the pattern and how frighteningly determined absolute strangers, from a demographic, are to demote Steven. All avaliable reasons and incredibly creative criticisms are thought up, all to relegate Steven's ability. One demographic, as is consistent with all history and the present.*
@ArchAingeal I've touched a sensitive nerve, I see... and without any explicit mention of any particular races or demographics. Guess the message found its intended recipient. Always the right recipient that cries out and claims what is theirs. It's childlike and so predictable. There's a preset formula to your little act as well... I know all about your sort and what it is that gets you to open your mouths. Run along!
We all see the same things as this guy, but most normal brains immediately dump this info as "not vital". In this way, we can function and interact at a rapid pace. Autistic people interpret massive amounts of detail and hold on to it. It's a curse, in many ways, because just walking out your front door unleashes a tidal wave of stimulus that you can't forget, even if you wanted to. The number of leaves on a branch, how many cracks in the sidewalk, all of it stays with you forever...

Wtf I don't even remember what my own street looks like. He's a superhuman.
If only mankind could figure out a way to harness the human brains full potential... The possibilities would be infinite!!
Imagine how useful this ability would be in the 18th century, when they just invented the air balloon. All he'd have to do is take an air balloon ride above any city, paint a map, and sell it for profit, he'd be a rich man.
Like literally mind blowing, figuratively and literally. Is there anyone else who can do this?
He was given 3 days to draw it, not 3 days to memorize it. It takes time to draw things. And no matter how you look at it, you can't do it.
I wish i had memory like that. He is amazing.
U commented 12 yrs ago 😯😯😯
We all do - we just need to remove our Corpus Callosum or damage it.
@@karthikeyagadipelly5916 15 years now, crazyy
He has the same name as my autistic brother . My brother is incredible at remembering directions to places he's only been to once.
too bad he didnt have to memorise it through this vid or he could have saved time and have drawn the 2 pixels alot quicker.
Clever! and true

You still alive?
This is AMAZING. :) Just... WOW.
He's amazing but I hope that people aren't making him draw and that it's actually his passion.

+Queen B people being forced to do something arent ever that good.

Amazing! Makes you think of "nature abilities" and what "normal" people may have lost.
15 years later
He's a savant, they do truly amazing stuff
Who cares if he memorized it or not. Even if he was looking at a panoramic image, that drawing itself is still time consuming and amazing!
INCREDIBLE ENOUGH SAID !!
shut up, for once we want an autistic child with this amazing ability, it would be a gift to the world to have more people like this.
I wish I had a memory like that
this guy is amazing, i don't care wether he's autistic or not, he's great and talented and should be treated as the artist he is.

Alright, let's have someone who says they have a photographic memory (a lot of people say they do, but they do not) and have them draw this.
Amazing!
I've just seen that on TV!
It was a whole film about savants (=autistic people)
Amazing!!!
mind you, he's not taking long breaks. He's sitting there basically from morning to night.
he lives for the applause
they said that about einstein too, in a documentary. They said he only started being able to speak at the age of 3.
WOW! He's INCREDIBLE!! (=
WOW!!!! AMAZING!!!!

I do not understand why they call autism "disability" when is actually the opposite, they are gifted.
I have autism. There are some amazing qualities that people with autism have. But it's also a disability.
This should be featured!!!
oh my gosh, that is absolutely amazing.
amazing!
wow its fantastic
Awesome.
Bravo zio! Sei forte. Non basta una vita. One life is not enough! Viva Roma!

this is the real photographic memory, everyone else just claims to have it.
would love to see an HD reupload of this
Thanks JRE.
