I came here to check on Cid's voice, and I realise with great pleasure that he sounds even better than in the movie.
The voice of Cid also voices Sebastian from Black Butler and Julius from Tales of Xillia 2

seems like they wanted to give cid whos a super late appearing character more emotional investment and story with aerith before she dies so the characters are all somewhat connected i guess
Pretty much, in the OG they all rarely interact with each other because some people you bring with you are the ones who get dialogue in certain scenes. It’s good they tried to give cid some sort of connection with aerith before they kill her off.
So Cid is 32 yeah? Aerith was 7 when her mom died and is only 22. Her mom died at roughly 29. That means the oldest Cid would have been when he met Ilfana is when he was 17 and she was 29. I’d say he was like 15 or so since he mentions being young in the military, and Shinra has a young age of recruitment. Which puts her at 25 haha. Guy had a crush on a pretty older mom.
Ilfana was a milf.
Where is Cid's goddamn tea? And his stories from the other Cids from other Final Fantasys?

My thinking is that the only reason he's so jolly in Rebirth is because he gets to do what he loves (pilot his plane in the sky, free of worry). And if we visit him in Rocket Town in the 3rd game, he'll be reminded of all the things that stress him out and make him angry and we'll see what he hasn't been showing

They change him alot its like he is not the same guy in the OG anymore also I like they were able to ride especially Aerith the tiny bronco unlike in OG they were on the wings when it crashes.
“Guess what I’m tryna say, is that your mom was like the Bronco. Everyone got a ride sooner or later.”
It may be a small comfort but I’m glad Ifalna met at least one standup guy with her daughter before the end.
Voice acting is top notch. Cids theme playing takes it to another level. Loved this scene

He probably had a crush on her. Not hard to see why. Ifalna was a beautiful woman who was strong and kind.
@@khfan4life365 Given how he explains it, yeah, he definatly had a crush on her and never forgot it. And that's why he felt like a fool when he just started rambling on about her to Aerith and then heard she was dead.
This cid is definitely more different then the original not only is he not have a foul mouth but i dont think he knew ariths mom in the original not that i remember because i gave played it for a while

It feels like they turned Cid into a Han Solo archetype, which I don't really mind honestly. I'd even say it fits.

Am I the only one scratching my head how Cid was into Ifalna? He's only 10 years older than Aerith. If she was a toddler, he was about 12. And he got a job?
They never said she was a toddler. Ifalna and Aerith escaped the Shinra building when she was 7 so Cid would have been 17 so if he met them that same year or the year prior it could work with the timeline. Considering some of Shinra's employees are as young as 14 it still makes sense.
You are aware Cloud left home at 13 to start training in Shinra, right?

I like this cid, but i really put all my faith that his character arc will be convincing into their hands. He seems rough on the edges and still a little bitter, we don't have his full background so i am confident there is still room for a very well executed character arc in Re3 but still, i'm really sad because people only playing rebirth are gonna know a very limited Cid, not the true one we know and love; like a limited experience, while all the other characters have more exposition and better set-ups, in my opinion.
Yeah having cid like this was a bad move. I understand they don't want abuse in game but its what made Vid character bk then .. Because he was always angry lol
people are too woke, the thing about Cid was, he was a broken man who had his dream crushed. the whole story arc about him is coming to terms with it and moving on, and realizing he was wrong. but today you cant even have a "bad character" its too offensive to some.

Cid didn’t not swear in Kingdom Hearts because Disney is forbidden to use profanity and explicit slurs.
Cid does swear, it just isn't all the time, the same as Barret.
For example in his first scene in Rebirth after Barret asks if Cid is afraid of Shinra tracking them down, Cid answer saying: "Shinra don't own the skies! Shitheads couldn't stop me even if they tried".
And I think much of it from the original game came from the changes in the english localization.

So they nuked his entire rocket town story to make him a taxi driver. The remake series is the turd that keeps on giving.
