The difference between Aerith and the rest of the group, Aerith had the absolutely WORST childhood of the group and is still the most upbeat and positive.
Truly iconic & amazing character -- best ever -- best of all-time
I'm not sure which if it applies for Aerith, but usually a character with an upbeat personality acts like one as a cope mechanism to hide from her own depression.
The FeMC from Persona 3 acts exactly the same way.
@@aoitenshi1maybe yes, maybe no. I see it that Aerith has a better coping mechanism most probably because she has 1. Elmyra and 2. she lived in the terrors of Hojo and then later 2. sector 5 might also toughen her up.
It is simple, she has accepted death early on so there is nothing left to do but smile.
Kid Aerith: "I'm sorry. Mommy. I tried."
Full grown adult me: Poor little Aerith. I can't help but cried for you. 😢
So many sad moments in this game… it really made me tear up… geez. This game really gets into your emotions.

It's called the slums for a reason
Despite what people in the real world would say, there are people out there like Aerith who are still able to process that trauma, and go on and have happy lives. It's an amazing show of character when a person doesn't adopt the **** the world attitude and refuses to become the thing that traumatized them. Aerith has old school character that she can take the bullshit life throws at her and still eagerly go on and find something wonderful about the world.

I think this may be the most I've ever cried during a Final Fantasy game. Which is really, really saying something. I mean... holy shit.

I've never cried so hard in a game before. I've watched it 3 times now on my playthroughs and I about lose it. They did a outstanding job

It was Hojo that caused all of this… I can’t wait to rip him a new one in Part 3.
He singlehandedly screwed over Cloud, Zack, Aerith, Red, Vincent, Ifalna, Ghast, and countless other people we probably don’t know about. Sephiroth might be the final big bad, but Hojo is the true villain of FFVII.
@@Cure_HanaI’ve wondered how everybody around him would even cut him some slack so many times. The party let him go so many times and Sephiroth didn’t go after Hojo. Like why????

Just thought of something - the butterflies and Aeriths drawings I wonder if the fleeting familiar Aerith conjures in the game is connected to Ifalnas spirit at all. That’s a sweet thought

First half of the game was a fun romp and adventure with some comedy thrown in, mostly. Then the last 4 hours of cinematic content is just gutting you to the point you are a boneless pile of sobbing goo.😭

She's a small kid who has only been in a lab all her life until now, and she's alone and in the slums of a huge city. Cut her some slack lol, kids don't really know how to do things on their own, especially not under these circumstances
