I do NOT want to "go more mainstream". I have no intention of becoming a rock star. I have no ambitions of being on TV or in big magazines. My one and only goal is to make music that is true to who I am. Why can't a song be dark AND melodic? Who wrote that rule and why should anyone obey it? Why should I try to fit any conventional notion of what "dark" music or "pop" music is supposed to be? There are just as many conformists in the underground as there are in the mainstream.
NGL you guys are the reason I get out of bed some mornings. The reason I keep returning to music, and believing that "Yes, I can!" because F*** other people's negative thoughts about something that's mine. I want to share with them, sure, but I do it for myself. You're both amazing people and awesome artists besides. I appreciate everything you have done, and everything you will do. I don't understand why people label music the way they do... It's not so black and white... And while I would love the opportunity to talk to you guys, exchange ideas, etc, I know that's not likely to ever happen. I'm just glad you're still making music even now in 2020. You keep doing you, because that's what I like listening to. :)
well said. An artist I really like Gary Numan (2018) said that as soon as he wrote his music without huge marketing people whispering in his ear (my interpretation of the interview ) that he was happier and his music got better. I cant agree more. He has never written better music. Your music is very unique and my band discussed that people will really like your musical style or dislike it. We think its new, fresh and a cool hybrid off many things. I cant get enough. I wish I had discovered you years ago but am so happy you have a good catalog now for me to listen too!
I enjoy variety, while my non-conformity came to the attention of Military Intelligence. When that comes to weapon's research and development fun, those people go through every detail about non-standard weapon's research with unique applications. But this material tends to be more often used as an Adult-Toy-Implementation for Sensation Play than Conventional Terror.
What you're suggesting I do is homogenize my work in order to appeal to a specific audience for the purpose of making money. That is the very definition of selling out and completely counter to everything that I stand for. I don't do this to sell records, I do this because I love it. My music isn't for you, no big deal.
When did I ever say I wasn't influenced by Marilyn Manson? What I said was "if Manson is all you see, you're missing a lot". How am I stifling anyone's opinion? They are making an assertion, I am disagreeing. That is called a conversation. I've come to realize there is no reasoning with people who have already made up their minds.
Marilyn Manson influenced my style and taste soo much as a teenager. I think I grew out of it but he will always be my idol. He admitted he was a schizophrenic and I think that was brave of him. Most of the time especially in the world of fame, having mental illness tends to go badly for people. But I’m glad it worked out for him. (At least in one video) he admitted it. I’m not really sure how much of it was scripted.
Daniel this is one of my favorite song I keep repeating lol. That and Gods and Gold, Ebb and Flow. It’s on my brain! And NEVER SELL YOURSELF OUT! I love the original sound you bring. Just like Ghost, another fave band of mine. 😈😈
i think anyone who enjoys and appreciates good music in all forms will love this song and this band, they put their stamp into so many styles genres from pop (big bad wolf) to metal (A nice place to visit) to vogue (this song is the vogue) dont confuse versatility with going mainstream, this band is a refreshing change in todays shite
So, I've become a huge fan since I stumbled over Gods and Gold, and this song has become my like...power theme. I have mixed connective tissue disease, the primary symptom of which is severe sun intolerance. I do a lot in the shade. I donno...I just feel amped when this song comes on. I'm grateful it exists. It's not often you can feel empowered in a chronic illness by a song.
This darkwave-loving night-shift nurse gives you much empathy and goth cred. I've also got a fairly abnormal case myself in the case of something called bladder exstrophy. Sunlight hurts my *eyes* after 5 years working 7p-7a but not from anyting I was born with, or skin-wise. Instead I'm legally disabled (besides chronic UTIs I don't feel like it thankfuly) but need a prosthetic device to take a piss and have never known otherwise. High five for suck things that hopefully science will manage someday. And MANY thanks to Daniel Graves for his music that I love to listen to, whether that's in between patient call-bell or when I go out to dance :D
i love this song and every other song that you have done. people will always whine and say that their favourite musicians have sold out when they just do what they feel is irght at the time . i really hope that you keep producing music of such a high caliber.
I love this song and video.... my young baby loves it even more though!!!! She is 12 weeks old and this has been her favourite tune since she was at least 4 weeks old :D if she is crying putting this song on calms her down instantly.
I can't believe anyone would compare you to MM. You're unique and definitely your own thing. I love this song so much! Very catchy. :) It's pretty much my anthem to my husband when it comes to my chronic pain. I get more and more injured by my defects and the worse I get, the more I joke about death and he's pretty much my Antibody. I love singing this song to him.
I love the old songs like Spit it out, the siren, Coward and stuff like that a lot because of the dark voice and the agressive style in general. I know that not all fans like the new, more pop-like style but it works for me. So keep up the good work, guys!
Who cares if this band copies other musical artists!? There's bands out in the world who copy other musical artists; not just them. The only thing that should matter is if their music is good and their music is awesome! I am addicted to this song, and Aesthetic Perfection; I love you guys.
I've followed you for a few albums now. You really keep us on our toes, and I'm super excited for the next album. You've helped a lot of people with your tunes. Thanks, man. P.s.. you're beautifully brutal in person and on stage. =) Perfection.
Can't wait to hear it Live guys, this is taking quickly rising to the tops of my favorites along with "Schadenfreude" and "Architect". Keep kicking ass, I'll keep listening.

i remember first listening to this just 3 hours after you uploaded it! It wasn't a great time in my life, though i do have some nice memories too. Still love this song so much, and hate/love the strange melancholic feeling it gives me. Time passes by so fast
I'm not even gonna read the comments, I just enjoy your music, I don't care if some parts are similar to other musicians, everyone is inspired by someone. I even wonder how can someone be "inventing original music" in this day and age. I loved it 10 years ago, and still love your work. XO.

I love the traces of almost 80's pop sound he mixes with modern synth pop. Love his passion!
