So in a pinch I can just see what the first two colors of the cable are cut it at the other end and connect those two colors to the three and five wires with twisties and plug it in?
Your video was very helpful. Ihad error 61 since i had no s cable. I used just simple ethernet cables without result's so i have buy one because i lost the one came the battery. I use Easun inverters and batteries and my new update is the SMW11kw its exactly like yous.

Interesting that they don't specify a GND connection but some BMS do (Ruixu). BMS pin #3 to EG4/Voltronic/MPP pin #8 in that case

Are the Blue and orange lines RS485B and A?
on the inverter side pin #5 is A and pin #3 is B
The eg4 6500ex 48v inverters are no longer made!!

Check the inverter manual. It should state the BMS pinouts
