This was a TON of fun to make! I just adore the early Pyrrhian history. Tui needs to make a Winglet about some RainWings from this time :D It'd be the best! Question of the day: If you could get one item signed by your favorite creator (music artist, actor, author, etc.), what would you pick and why? My answer: I want my Supergirl Funko Pop to get signed by Melissa Benoist 🙏
Ok, I agree, the pre-wasp silkwings would have probably been at least a bit cooler, but it is said in the guide that they silkwings were never a tribe to fight, so I'm not exactly sure how that played out
For some reason I feel like some of the extremely old dragons would have some sort of fear of rainwings with how deadly they would have been in their time
I also had an idea that Darkstalker was the reason they are like this. There was no way a rainwing spy or two was not among the nightwings watching Arctic die. They would have reported to the Queen who was like, “time to hide guys we are staying in this rainforest and not leaving” Kind of connecting the two tribes that are so connected in the future. That was always my take on it at least
If they had spies everywhere, imagine the RainWing assigned to the NightWing tribe needing to explain wtf happened with Darkstalker. “So…” “WHAT HAPPENED.” *”it might seem crazy what I’m bout to say…”*
If (Heaven forbid) Wings of Fire ever introduces Time Travel, it would only be worth it if an Ancient RainWing came to the modern Rainforest & asks why everyone's so pink
I haven’t watch it all yet but I think the fight with Skywings that killed a lot of rainwings and ‘them losing a lot of rainforest’ was a firescales that could have lead to the Skywings yo kill all firescales because they realised just how dangerous they could be
I'd love to see a story about a RainWing discovering the ancient ways of the RainWIngs and starting an assassin chain. Wonder how Pyrrhia would react...
I absolutely love the ancient rainwings, and honestly, I'm kinda mad at Andaconda's granddaughter (absolutely have no clue how to spell her name) for being the first to take away what made the rainwings do feared! Hopefully, with glory's rule, we'll start to see the rainwings at least be a bit more like the ancient rainwings (possibly like re-opening trading, and potion making! Or joining wars and alliances! Probably not assassin schools, but a WoF fan can dream!)
Man ancient rainwings were cool. I was so happy when we got more lore from them when the guide book came out. While I still love the docile rainwings we have now, ancient rainwings were SO awesome. If rainwings had participated in the war, whoever’s side they were on would have definitely won without even giving the dragonets a chance😼
Ikr that would be so cool if they were like that still no one would have the chance to get plans to winning ther would definitely have spies everywhere
There were probably a lot of animus-enchanted objects that let dragons see invisible rain wings or be immune to rainwing venom back when people knew about them and when they were still "dangerous"
Can't forget their magical death spit...I wonder if they would be thrown into battle training as a young dragonet...just like how winter was wondering why the young rainwings weren't thrown into battle training immediately
I have some ideas/theories about what happened after Jacaranda took over. Some Rainwings, not liking this new, peaceful thing that Jacaranda was trying to get the Rainwings to do, decided to run away and make their old lives again, training their dragonets how to kill, read and write, and keep hidden over the years. I’d like to think that these groups had names similar to the dragons who founded them, or it was the leaders or “Queens” name, like Cobra or Mojave (the most aggressive snake) Bonus: I’m not sure if we do get a confirmation of what killed the Mudwings in book 3, but I would like to think it was a Rainwing assassin from the ancient groups that ran away, their group in particular staying near the village to see what would happen to the Rainwings over time.
THISSS!! i always associated them with Aztec/Hispanic culture and skywings to be Central Asian/Persian coded and icewings to be Slavic or North Asian (Siberia)
Its so cool that you know EVERYTHING about Wings of Fire history. I love learning Wings of Fire. Especially, when I am on book twelve The Hive Queen, Cricket. Cricket is one of my top favorites, along with Tsunami and Winter. Can you please talk about IceWing history?
Something I could tie this to are the suburban and rural IceWings. As we know, they were given the Gift of Subsistence, which everyone thought would make them lazy, but no - it instead allowed them to focus on other things like arts and academia, and family. That's what I believe Jacaranda was hoping to achieve. She looked towards peace so that the RainWings wouldn't need to worry about war and focus on other things. But something probably went wrong in that time, maybe there was a queen with an attitude similar to Magnificent, and regression occurred. Although, the close-knittedness of the tribe remained, so I guess that's still a plus on Jacaranda's part
I have been thinking about this soooo often lately I really think almost everyone wants to know and it could even be a legends book like the legend of past rainwings or something
I hope in a potential arc 4 we can have more dangerous Rainwings, like Glory's secret gard trained by Deathbringer, and even a Rainwing major antagonist, who could be one of the most dangerous dragon of both continent, with invisibility skills, venom and poisons, or who could even imitate an other dragon's voice like some tropical birds.
@@lunathelightfury2795 yeah but to me, Cameleon is more a henchmen to bigger ennemies (Scarlet, Vulture...) and he has an other set of capacities like Darkstalker's scroll. We didn't see him much has a Rainwing. I love Chamelon has a vilain but I wouldn't complain for a "full" Rainwing antagonist. Sorry I don't know if I explain very well
Two things, first I just got the World Guide and it's so so cool to see how both continents used to be and are currently changing after all the events in the series. Second, you mentioned that Darkstalker and the ancient nightwings where respectful of Rainwings, do you remember where it says that in the books? I ask because the only scene I remember of Darkstalker and his opinion on Rainwings, is in Turtle's book when he goes to the Rain forest to convince the rest of the nightwings to follow him as King. Darkstalker is enchanting a bunch of stuff and giving it out to Nightwings on request, until one Nightwing asks to have color-shifting scales like the Rainwings. Darkstalker basically says "oh you can do better then that" and gives shape-shifting powers instead. Which implies to me that he looks down on Rainwings as a whole. So either A) Queen Jacaranda's change happened in Darkstalker's time leading to the other tribes demaning them B) it was Just Nightwing Things(tm) to look down on all tribes regardless, or C) I am horribly misremembering something
You know this would make an awesome legends book, maybe having my multiple pics as others have had. Maybe the povs could be from dragons of different generations, like an old one who only knew their bloody way, younger maybe close to teen or young adult who was conflicted on what would be best, and a young dragonet learning these new ways and that's all they know. Or maybe the book focuses on the slow progression into the pacifists we know today, like doing some time skips over the years to key moments in this history, there are so many possibilities
It was so interesting to learn what we could about ancient rainwings from a guide to the dragon world. And this video was a good refresher for that information. The failed of leadership was hinted at in book 3, but finally getting to know how it all played out was better than leaving it in the dark. I hope in the future we can get more ancient history revealed.
In my opinion I believe that the Beetlewings and Silkwings were related to Rainwings. Maybe a group of the traveled to the rumored second continent and decided to live there. Then they slowly evolved and changed into the Beetlewings and Silkwings that Clearsight found. The Silkwings and Leafwings remind me of Rainwings a lot for different reasons.
RainWings then: 🔪🗿💪 RainWings now:😴🌸🦥 Jacaranda was horrible, she gave rise to queens like Magnificent. Glory will restore the ancient ways and Revive the Rainforest!
Hold on, weren't ancient rainforest queens almost like Scarlet, Blister and Burn? I don't think Glory will revive the old ways, more like have a middle line. But, I've got to agree. Magnificent wasn't great. However, maybe Jacaranda was just a nicer person who saw violence kill her people and didn't like that. So she tried something different(almost like a Sunny). We are hearing this from a relative who probably has bias towards peace and such.
@@solidonseraindogthetenth1679 The ancient queens were more similar to Glory. Glory is restoring the ways of Anaconda, it's not really a middle line, we're just in the transition right now
@@solidonseraindogthetenth1679 Also Jacaranda may have been "nicer" but in terms of being a queen and her policies she was horrible. It's not about the peace, it's about the demilitarization and the erosion of RainWing culture. Jacaranda's policies made the RainWings lazy and degenerate which would only get worse over time as they lost basic skills such as reading and writing. Because of Jacaranda, the tribe lost its culture and eventually led to queens like Grandeur and Magnificent who were completely incompetent. Glory is restoring that strength, respect, and function the tribe used to have, and she is pretty much the modern day Anaconda
Tbh i think i disagree with a lot of people who want the rainwing tribe to become violent again, while they should probably learn to keep more knowledge and read and write, but also i don't think the rainwings want to be violent anymore?? And they seem perfectly fine with that, since the nightwings aren't taking advantage of them anymore. I swear there was a whole point of books 3-5 about how the peaceful rainwing was isn't as "lazy and stupid" as every other tribe thinks
That's so cool it's always been my personal theory that the leaf wings were some part ancient ancestor of their tribe that may be split off a long time ago maybe when they started to become more docile some parts of them didn't want to so they went to pantalla in a long time later that's the kind of leaf Wing dragons we have now yes I know leaf wings were still around in clear sights time I just meant like a long long long long time ago the ancestors of their ancestors if you will it's comforting to know though that Glory the new Queen of the rainbows actually managed to restore a little bit of that in their tribe😊 even though I don't mind them being a little more docile as they are now I think it's a perfect world of both what's Gloria Estefan all hail Long live Queen Glory lol 😉💚🐉
Amazing video! I do think that the Ancient RainWings had such a cool culture and way of life and it is so nice to see someone else touch base on it in a video❤️
What if there could be a prequel arc taking place in these times with one of the PoVs being a Rainwing assassin. Obviously assuming Tui would be fine with it but it could be so cool!!! Oh also, thank you for making such a comprehensive video! Nice job.
I wonder what would have happened if the Rainwings split like the LeafWings. Becoming agressive sub groups, like VenomWings and FruitWings. A kind, docile group, vs a continuation of agression of their old ways. Maybe even teaming up with the NightWings. Or even taking over the Nightwings old kingdom!
like a year or two ago, I wrote a fanfic about the concept of rainwings being that powerful in the modern day (called Prime Rainwings) and the writing wasn't great if I'm being honest, but I did enjoy playing with the idea
To be honest, I want another Winglet to feature something like this: two siblings, not unlike Blue and Luna, in the changing RainWing society. Jacaranda’s daughter or granddaughter is ruling, and the two siblings disagree on how the tribe is changing. Its not pacifism, but they’re retreating into their forest, tearing down these ancient and well known structures and landmarks, though gradually. The tribe is being steered away from all they know, and the siblings have to cope with their changing society and relationships with each other and their tribe. I think another Winglet featuring dragons from differing time periods would be a really fun idea
I actually developed a RainWing from that time period, he is an excellent weapon smith and alchemist proficient in weapons, armor, poisons, and potions. I wonder how he would react to his tribe if he was plopped into the canon arcs?
One of my head cannons is that the nightwings at some part partook in a targeted suppression of knowledge on the rainwings. Even considering the natural loss of knowledge and the assumed nearly 1000 plus years of isolation a tribe that used to be fairly nomadic had to have more evidence of their past at some point besides the occasional scroll or two. This assumption isn’t perfect but the near complete disappearance of knowledge is fascinating anyways
It genuinely irks me that they were dumbed down like this-- and like i can see why it would of been so easy for the nightwings to take the rainwing forest the modern rainwings are just terrible in my opinion, i wish they kept this more brutal side of their history instead of being pacifists.
Kind of wild that nobody in modern day knew about their acid spit until Glory hit Scarlet. I know the Rainwings were mysterious but nobody wrote a book about the old wars the Rainwings fought in?
It would be very interesting and I think maybe extinction was a fear of the rainwings and with it going to far inc not read and writing being a bad thing you can control your feelings and actions is good but some thing can be a useful part of your tribes so peaceful is a very good thing but if needed you must know how to fight as the last not first thing if you can so a tribes base on knowledge, war if one need to and peace so not fighting is a good thing but don't go soft as a dragon also good luck with your project 😊
Not me bouta bring even more change to that tribe in my fanfic- Glory obviously is going to bring them up to standard, they probably wont be warlike, but they'll have and army and trade relations However, in my fanfiction, Glory and Deathbringer are assassinated by some NightWings, leaving their young daughter on the throne. Their daughter is young and inexpierienced, and probably will not be making good decisions 0.0 She doesn't know who killed her parents, so she's gonna be very distrusting of other tribes, and she's definetly keeping her army. She'll also probably start up these assassin schools, and have spies in other kingdoms. She's still a dragonet, so there's definetly room for her to grow and change.
I always saw the Rainwings as so OP that they just stopped caring. Violence was no longer necessary because they were just too good at it. Unfortunately, their pacifism allowed the Nightwings to take advantage of them
My theory is that the reason scavengers are so afraid of rainwings is because before they were peaceful, they were the most horrifying tribe. And this made all the other tribes hate them, making them almost go instinct. So they become peaceful.😊
judging by the comments this is an unpopular opinion but I prefer the nice rainwings, Id love to laze around and eat fruit all day while looking pretty resting in the sun lol
Am I the only one who doesn't think Rainwing venom is Venom? I mean, it melts stuff. Granted, it's organic stuff it melts, but still, the term "venom" refers to a toxic chemical made most often by predatory creatures to inject into their prey. With the Rainwings, their so-called "venom" is more like acid than anything.
There were probably a lot of animus-enchanted objects that let dragons see invisible rain wings or be immune to rainwing venom back when people knew about them and when they were still "dangerous"

Guess the difference:Patrick,
Old rainwing queens
Glory: “ITS THE SAME THING”
Rainwings pulled a Hulk after getting beat up by Thanos💀💀
😭😭You're so right
I’m pretty sure the ‘spineless’ queen was called Jacaranda…
SHOULD I BE SCARED HOW YOU KNOW MY REAL NAME AND NOT MY SOCIAL MEDIA USERNAME 😨…Anways ty for the shoutout queen you slay
Kind of wild that nobody in modern day knew about their acid spit until Glory hit Scarlet. I know the Rainwings were mysterious but nobody wrote a book about the old wars the Rainwings fought in?
HERE!!
Hi!!
Present rainwings: Hai want a banana
Ancient rainwings: *I will end your bloodline with a banana*
It would be very interesting and I think maybe extinction was a fear of the rainwings and with it going to far inc not read and writing being a bad thing you can control your feelings and actions
is good but some thing can be a useful part of your tribes so peaceful is a very good thing but
if needed you must know how to fight as the
last not first thing if you can so a tribes base on knowledge, war if one need to and peace so not fighting is a good thing but don't go soft as a dragon also good luck with your project 😊
Where did you find the updated pyrrhia map? The one with the indestructible city and the Nightwing village? Is that in a later book?
There are updated maps in Dragonslayer and the guidebook!
I think the change might’ve also been due to trauma due to how drastic it was
So is Peacemaker part ancient rainwing or modern rainwing
Modern
Not me bouta bring even more change to that tribe in my fanfic-
Glory obviously is going to bring them up to standard, they probably wont be warlike, but they'll have and army and trade relations
However, in my fanfiction, Glory and Deathbringer are assassinated by some NightWings, leaving their young daughter on the throne.
She's still a dragonet, so there's definetly room for her to grow and change.
either a book from WoF signed by Tui., or a picture of Angel Dust signed by Blake Roman 😄🙏
I met Blake! He's so sweet
The next JMA? You need to collab with him and pyrhhian nerd too!
I have collabed with JMA! :D
@@Dogloverlikesdoge what channel?
@@TheUnknownAninus-ve1ve On his! :)
@Dogloverlikesdoge so sorry. What video lol?
I always saw the Rainwings as so OP that they just stopped caring. Violence was no longer necessary because they were just too good at it. Unfortunately, their pacifism allowed the Nightwings to take advantage of them
My theory is that the reason scavengers are so afraid of rainwings is because before they were peaceful, they were the most horrifying tribe. And this made all the other tribes hate them, making them almost go instinct. So they become peaceful.😊
Rainwing are just orange cat XD
😭
THATS WHY THEY ARE THE BEST!
I mean RainWings are just crazy anyway sooooooo

hey a huge fan keep up the great work!
❤❤
love your vids they make me happy when I watch them
Awwww, tysm!!
It's more acid, and that's always bothered me lol
It's not venom unless it's injected
@@Dogloverlikesdoge isn't that what I just said
@@stormdragon356 I was agreeing 😭
@@Dogloverlikesdoge ok yeah sorry I thought you were repeating what I said
I have mixed opinions on rainwinsg ngl- :')
Of course they were insane.. A dragon with venom breath should be
Under one min group comment
Under fourty minutes👇
Why does everything cool devolve to something lame
😔
IMMEDIATE CLICK!!
There were probably a lot of animus-enchanted objects that let dragons see invisible rain wings or be immune to rainwing venom back when people knew about them and when they were still "dangerous"
