In Pietermaritzburg, in the Msunduzi Local Municipality, rubbish lies uncollected on the streets for weeks at a time. In this once-bustling capital city, the putrid stench of urine hangs in the air: a disturbing sign of the city’s decay. Sewage leaks and water pipeline bursts have become common while the supply of electricity has reached a crisis point. The municipality owes Eskom millions, but its coffers are dry. So, why did the mayor sign a multi-million rand deal to sponsor a PSL football team for the next three years? It’s a decision that has residents and business owners outraged.

You forgot to ask the mayor how Maritzburg United, another soccer team , never received such lucrative sponsorship despite its existence long before Royal AM.
They were receiving the money it might have not been the same amount but they were receiving it. Same as Richards Bay receiving money from Umhlathuze, and AmaZulu from eThekwini. I'm not justifying it but stating the facts.

Why didn't cart blanch do an interview on Maritzburg United owner being sponsored by the same municipality. Is it a race thing or an attack on the black lady. I'm against lack of service delivery and a clean city but also against subliminal attacks on a successful black women.
