I love that you brought up the orange cowboy hat! I’ve been wondering for years why it’s so popular even though it makes you so much more vulnerable to headshots … you know, bc of the big orange dot on your head lmao 😂

Don't rely on covert. Experienced players will still know where you are or where you are going. It's the little things like the sound of your footsteps. The gleam of aimed weapon. Shadow movement. The awareness perk is a covert canceler. And if you are running covert and we are really really close to each other and I use listen mode a ring will show up under your feet if you move. Amazing video Strats! These tips are definitely a great start for any beginner and a refreshing reminder for even experienced players. It’s almost surreal to see the tips and tactics we utilise from second nature such as medkits and listen mode, etc. I personally have been playing this for almost the 6 year lifetime of this game and I thought I might include some tips of my own that were missed in this video (I’m not saying the video wasn’t thorough but the extent of tips and tactics that we use is immense so to include them all would make this video double the length. Easily). First off, Private Matches. When you’re just starting out you’re gonna be at a huge disadvantage to the current player base so taking some time during private matches to learn the maps and medkit locations is a great way to start and level the playing field just a little. When selecting the game mode (Supply Raid, Survivors or Interrogation) you will see 3 options for each one. The private match option allows for you to go into a game by yourself and walk around the map whilst letting you choose which map you want to explore. Use this to your advantage because map knowledge in this game is essential. Boxes. The red boxes full of supplies are dotted around the map. You need these to craft literally anything. You can see these boxes on your radar in the top left of your screen as a little white dot. When you open the box and collect the materials the dot will disappear. You know when the box is refilled as the dot will reappear on your radar. Now an extra to boxes that you may or may not know is that they can easily be used to refill ammo or health if you are lacking in either one. If you are low on health (but above 50%) opening a box will give you canned food which will instantly heal you of the full amount of damage. If below 50% health the box will instead give you a full medkit from the box which you can use to heal yourself. From using this, a tactic was made where if you’re injured instead of using a medkit you can go to a box and heal yourself and save the medkit for a later time where you may really need it. However this strategy is insanely risky and should only be done if you are really close to a box and when you’re certain there’s no enemies around. Though if you do not have a medkit and are injured this is a great way to get health back if you cannot find a medkit. The same applies for ammo. If you run out of ammo, going to the box will supply you with a few bullets that you can use to stay in the fight. This only happens when you have no (or very little) ammo. 2x4. In supply raid you can collect a stick from any box after 4 spawns (from either team e.g. 2 from yours and 2 from theirs or 4 from yours and 0 front theirs), in survivors and interrogation you can collect it from the middle box. The 2x4 is a melee weapon that lowers the hits needed to down from 4 (using punches) to 2 hits to down. The 2x4 is lost when you die and must be reaquired from a box (though the chances of this are fairly low). Further, you can modify your 2x4 using scissors, binding and a rag which upgrades it to a 1 hit down for one swing (or two with brawler 2) at the cost of a slightly slower swing time. When modded the 2x4 is kept with you after you die but if you use the modded parts and it goes back to a regular 2x4 then you will lose as you usually would. Throwables. These were covered quite well in the video but one more thing I’d like to add is that you also show up on the map as a red dot when you throw any throwable or place a bomb, just as you would when you shoot an unsilenced weapon. Picking up items. As Strats mentioned in the video you can pick up multiple items at once from boxes or the ammo and supplies enemies drop on death. However I’d actually advise against doing that in most cases. If you are being chased or see enemies rushing or shooting nearby then sure. Hold triangle get your supplies and get out. In any other case where you’re safe, you should just press triangle and pick up each individual item. The reason I say this is because of a glitch that can have a devastating effect on your game. To put it basically what the glitch does is when you pick up these items and look in your inventory you may notice that some (or most) items will completely disappear from your inventory. This only happens when using the hold triangle trick so that’s why I advise only use it when you need to. General knowledge. -You respawn every 20 seconds on the timer apart from survivors for obvious reasons. -You can only use listen mode when the bar showing how much you have is above half way. -Medkits and Boxes always respawn in the same places every 2 minutes or so. -The timer on bombs and smokes until they go off starts once they hit a surface and not when they leave your hand so bank bombs off surfaces near enemies to increase the chance of hitting them. The last bit of advice I have is in agreement with strats. Don’t be too hard on yourself. The learning curve on this game is immense so don’t worry too much if you’re not getting as many downs or dying more than some of the other people playing the game. After all some people have around half a decades worth of experience on you so focus on yourself and don’t take the game or your own performance too seriously. And as they say practice makes perfect. Great video once again Strats 😁👍
Hey Strats! This is very special. Using your platform to help what seems to be hundreds or thousands of new players is very cool. Factions has certainly changed in the course of a week or so. Thanks for this! Take care 👍🙏
I highly recommend using Haw-eyed 2. Mainly with long range weapons like the HR for pop-up headshots. It good for your entire team and for parts. It can be a game changer, especially in survirors mode.
Fire the specter in bursts when at range and it can be effective. Use the slight auto aim to your advantage and re-aim often if your first shots dont hit their mark.
I doubt if you'll read my comment, it is 2021, and I'm only now trying to play factions. I just wanted to say thank you for these videos, it really helped me quite a lot. Great video, I used to be really good at Factions back in 2013-2014 and then stopped playing. Been trying to get back into it recently after getting the Remastered, completely forgotten how to play and am getting my ass handed up me from every direction lol
@@TLOUStrategist I've been taking your advice and only playing the Support loadout in Survivors mode. Having a much easier time so far! All the new ps+ players will truly appreciate this video. And there was good advice for me aswell: shoot the legs of armoured opponents? I'll try later 8-) Thanks alot TStrats!
Oh my god..NOT to start a argument out of respect for Strats, but this is NOTHHHHING like ANY other game/Co. out there..Naughty Dog is the one Co. That puts quality before quantity..quality before $$...they do have employees to pay and it cost alot to make a game like this so they gotta charge for some shit..its a business..but like EA??? Cmon..you know that's rediculous..in fact that's the first time I EVER heard anyone talk about how this games over charging and like a POS Co.like EA..just saying man..

I still laugh thinking of my first time...I didnt want to appear greedy and take EVERYTHING out the supply box 😂🤣😂
Haha, well...that corner is actually completely decent when you have other players at the box. No one will push up to the corner of the fence to get me while they’re there...😉
Literally the first mp I've ever played, and first shooting game. I played the single players for the first time this year and they've been the only games I've played every day for a year. After a week on factions I was told I didn't belong there so many times I finally quit. They wouldn't help cover or heal me, and after id die my teammates would bash me with their melees. And now I see why. I do so many things wrong. I wish factions had a training program like COD does or grouped us with other noobs so we could learn together.
Good tip for new players! USE SHARP EARS 3!!! I can't stress that enough, easily one of the most underrated perks in the game. Use that with Agility 2 and you're a ninja
@@fussel676 It's worth it trust me. If you don't want that maybe invest in Lone Wolf.. (Agility is easily in my top 3 favorite perks. I'm a seasoned vet as well)

Great video with great tipps and tricks for beginners 😁 ...unfortunately I won't be able to join the stream as it's my sisters wedding on saturday... you know my thoughts and wishes when it comes to factions II 😉 patch the burst- to cheap and way to strong on long range. No doubt it should be a killer on short range but it should have a bigger sptray on mid- and long range. Get rid of covert training or at least CT 3. Once wearing armour, CT should have no affect. I'm fine with the rest- even the practical tactical & the shorty. They can balance the game when you face strong opponents. No doubt it sucks when a 999 uses a tactical... silenced 😉 long story short- don't change too much as it is already the best MP I ever played 😁
Any tips on dealing with someone, when you guys are sharing the same piece of cover and going 1v1, I find my biggest issue being the jankieness of upclose gunfights
Thanks for the comment! There are some guides out there on how to pass the 12 weeks, basically just save the easiest challenges (healing, marking, gifting) for those 100% death weeks. Not too tough at all. 😉👍
I think 20 maps should be a minimum for a new Factions game. More playground variety is always good. And the randomization should be optimized so you don't get the same maps too often.
I’m just not going to play multiplayer factions for about half a year because it’s nearly impossible to get a good game where your executions or interrogations aren’t stolen by noobs who don’t understand the game. Or when they use up all the teams lives or run around showing your position or be a nuisance because you have to save them all the time even though they never have your back! The worst part for me is that because I only bought The Last of Us for the PS4 a year ago (I played the PS3 version before that) and I’m at a low-ish level where people assume I’m like them.
I still can’t get over how people use the variable rifle over the semi auto rifle, for me the ammo goes wayyyy to quickly and is much less accurate, is this just me?
Nahh after first upgrade you're unstoppable short to mid range, although I feel the exact same way you do enforcer vs 9 mm. Maybe I'm just not used to the weapon
People mainly use it for the insanely fast fire rate. You can go through ammo quick but the fire rate allows you to wreck enemies so fast and efficiently that you’re able to just keep buying stacks of ammo with ease
@Chad Kensington VR has a faster fire rate, larger magazine size, optional scope, and less bloom. Plus, it sounds amazing when you fire and reload it! 😂👍
Great video so far I watched till 3:55 but you are making some mistakes bro for example you are looking at the ground if you watch straight you can shoot enemys quicker or the first bomb you throwed on the enemy you could just activate the bomb quickly by throwing it at the wall and then it should land on it or you healed up but you could run to the box, get an extra med kit and then heal up because you would still have 3 med kits then
Aloha, i was Bloodydragons153. I literally thought you was a troll account or something during the match. I spent 20 mins trying to figure out if you was legit XD
If you bluescreen a lot, it will slow down your leveling up because you lose lots of progress. Also, the more conscientious you are of your missions the faster you will level up.
1 level in factions stands for 1 in game week, i.e. 7 matches. That means you spent nearly 1400 matches in factions in four years. I gained 999 lev within 1.5 years, but still rusty and noobie=)
12:55 You no longer recommend this if I remember correctly. Your latest videos say you should run past first supply box to prioritise advantageous positioning and good cover so you can put the enemy team on the back foot. I'm not sure how I feel about this strategy. I think it probably works really well when you play with people you know and you communicate but as a solo player in Public Matches I feel like it's not such a good strategy since most random players won't back you up when you rush past the first supply box.
Hey bro thanks for the great video! Believe or not I’ve just decided to get the factions trophies 🏆 this year. I’m a noob so if you’re keen to team up for a match let me know!

Deathwish 36018 thats an awesome write up! I need to practice banking bombs! 💥
Thanks Urban! 😊
GREAT tips, DW! 😁🙌💥
Nice extra tips DW! ^^
Hey Strats! This is very special. Using your platform to help what seems to be hundreds or thousands of new players is very cool. Factions has certainly changed in the course of a week or so. Thanks for this! Take care 👍🙏
You’re welcome, ArtVandelay! I want to keep our community healthy, and gearing up new friends up to speed ASAP is my top priority right now. 😉👍
It shows, sir! Keep it up. I’ll help in any small way I can of course 😃
I have improved my game since watching these, although I'm still very terrible at this. I am only on level 16 now, so you can imagine how badly I struggle, lol.
I try to read and reply to every comment, I honestly do! It’s a wonderful multiplayer that has a steep learning curve, but so engaging to play. Send me a PSN friend request, and maybe we can play sometime. ☺️👍
@@TLOUStrategist I'm very new... 2 days new. I'm trying to learn so I can play with my son when he's at his Mom's house. I'm getting smoked regularly. I think these tips will help. Thanks
15:32 I'm surprised that the guy camping the Supply Box didn't show up when you used Listen Mode, I wonder if he was just barely out of Range or using Covenant. Always good to use Listen Mode by Supply Boxes tho for sure.
I played this casually about 5 years ago and i would really like to get back into it, thanks for the help!
Wow...this video gave me serious nostalgia Strats! The very first few videos on your channel was a TLoU tutorial/tips video, I still remember! :D
Full-circle indeed, Xem! I’ve taken a different approach with this one...and I really like it. Easier to understand. 😉👍
Still my favorite multiplayer. Thanks for helping beginners learn the game!
Great video, I used to be really good at Factions back in 2013-2014 and then stopped playing. Been trying to get back into it recently after getting the Remastered, completely forgotten how to play and am getting my ass handed up me from every direction lol
It takes some getting used to… the average overall skill level is far higher than it used to be! 😉👍
@@TLOUStrategist I've been taking your advice and only playing the Support loadout in Survivors mode. Having a much easier time so far! I generally pick the highest level guy on our team, stick close with him the whole match, focus on healing him, crafting and gifting him items, marking enemies for him etc. and most importantly, not dying lol. Been winning plenty of matches and picking up tons of parts this way 🙂
Yes! I love to hear that it’s working for you! It’s a great way to learn the maps with less pressure of getting taken out by yourself, too. 😉👍
@@TLOUStrategist update: I've since moved onto Supply Raid and I'm actually holding my own now haha...I've been running your covert burst loadout most of the time and managing to come out of most matches with a decent and sometimes excellent KD ratio. You were spot on about Survivor mode being an excellent way for beginners starting out, because I think it primarily trained me in how to survive matches and avoid getting myself killed all the time lol. Thanks for all the tips and load out designs, I'm having such a blast with this game 😃
You’re welcome! Glad you’re finding you way! 😉👍
Definitely going to try to get into this stream and enjoy hanging out with the community.
Sweet. Good time for me to be able to participate. I like that you are doing this now considering the influx of new people. I'm also keen to hear from the community and journalists. See you soon. Peace
And Hr In May lol(The best month haha) This video will definitely be helpful to all of the factions newbies out there.
So happy to be part of this amazing community
Nice job man. TLOU community spirit ftw.
23:34 LOL That guys head literally got melted 🤣

Spectobered! 🤣😂😆 LOL, MadMatt41!
I like the pace of the video. Can’t stand it when people just say tips instead of giving examples in real game. This definitely helps all the noobies out there. Great video 🔥😁👏
I figured it was better to just show it while saying it...so it made more sense. Glad you liked it! 😉👍
Dont rely on covert 2 whatsoever, you might eat shit initially but you'll get better faster if you're not making yourself an easy target crouch walking the entire game and your teammates will appreciate it too
Great vid and tips Tstrats! I bet new players can use and provide from all the information^_^ Best tip in my opinion is : Go easy on yourself, this game takes time! (wether you are new to Factions or not) :)
strats! i just saw that video, googled "factions tlou starters " and this was the first suggestion, thanks a lot for this video..your tips, constantly playing more and the help from schmiddi ;) is helping me to have more fun and less frustrated games, cause im slowly getting better :)
Awesome, I’m glad to hear it! It’s a tough MP to learn, but very rewarding. I hope you join us sometime for private matches with Schmiddi! 😊👍
I am a oldschooler on factions. And i am suprised how some of the new players are aggressive, and some of them even get a decent kill count per match.
Who's sill pissed like me seeing this piece of wood, sticking out of the wall at 11:44?
Gonna be the name of my next band.."The Happy Teabags"...😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
All the level 999 players scream at me when I chose a bow class, yes I'm a typical noob aha but you gotta start somewhere.
Don’t worry about it, Jake! It’s true...we all have to start somewhere, and my very first video on here was a bow class! You’ll get up to speed in no time, don’t give up. 😉👍
I as a experienced player still enjoyed watching this.
I don’t care what anyjuan says.
Nice edits!
I’ve had this game from release and never new that you could hold to pick up all parts.. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
All the new ps+ players will truly appreciate this video. And there was good advice for me aswell: shoot the legs of armoured opponents? I'll try later 8-)
Thanks alot TStrats!
You’re very welcome, Chris!
I really wish they gave us the dlc executions and perks for free. I've been playing for forever and couldn't afford them yet
Pharmazak I mean 0,99 isn’t too much for one execution if you work a bit
2€ for 1 Perk. That smells like EA tho...
@@m4x899 Not everyone gets paid in dollar you know 😭
Oh my god..NOT to start a argument out of respect for Strats, but this is NOTHHHHING like ANY other game/Co. out there..Naughty Dog is the one Co.
Watching rn! This is awesome stuff! I always forget to reload (another reason I like the bow!) I hope you cover not stealing executions lol. Just at 17:45 don't rush someone with a hit stick 😂👍
For a long time I never ever switched to my secondary... ever....though I would follow up with a couple of punches 😂
Yes you covered dont steal (unless you have a #sharingiscaring agreement!)
Lmao! I recently discovered the Specter is not great at range! 😂✌️
Really cool vid and will be of massive encouragement to anyone stepping into the daunting world of factions. I still laugh thinking of my first time...I didnt want to appear greedy and take EVERYTHING out the supply box 😂🤣😂

It’s like listening to Bob Ross. No mistakes, just happy accidents and stuff like that 😂
The don't call me the Bob Ross of Factions for nothing: ua-cam.com/video/nXlEQnmC9eA/v-deo.html
i only watched the first minute but i did really enjoy you crafting a bomb out in the open
Haha, well...that corner is actually completely decent when you have other players at the box. No one will push up to the corner of the fence to get me while they’re there...😉
Great video man. These little tips help so much for new players
Gotta have your mic on so we can guide these new players from dying or getting exposed all the time
Agree, best game for me too ❤️💪
LMAO after all these years there's still something I don't know. Great video Tstrat ❤
So glad there is an influx of new people on the game I just hope they don't all become covert burst rifle clones like everyone else.
For the whole stealing kills thing my argument is “you rather me confirm the kill or have them get picked up and they kill you?”
I truly hope you're as blazed as your sound my friend.
Just found the channel, love it my dude! 👍👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘
Good tip for new players!
USE SHARP EARS 3!!! I can't stress that enough, easily one of the most underrated perks in the game. Use that with Agility 2 and you're a ninja
Or go lone wolf and stay away from your team
But agility costs 2€ tho...
@@fussel676 It's worth it trust me. If you don't want that maybe invest in Lone Wolf.. (Agility is easily in my top 3 favorite perks. I'm a seasoned vet as well)
@@fussel676 plus since tlou 2 won't have multiplayer on release date Factions will be poppin
@@Dustyholes idk. Not feeling like supporting a pay-to-win model.
If what strategist said is true, that you in a massive disadvantage without those perks. But i also heard if you collect 7500 ingame currency thingies by playing the game im kinda okay with that.
Use your Mollies..... Yes.
Great games T-Strats 😎, fun to watch as always 👍
Thank you Biffa! 😊👍
@@TLOUStrategist your factions talk through actually gave me a tip, even though I've been playing since the ps3 launch I didn't realize you could pick up parts with a hold of the triangle button 😆
Oh dear lolz 😝
Nice vid T-strats some very good info
Damn, I feel like doing some more Factions videos now.
Great tutorial for the beginners! Very easy to follow and instructive and although I am not one I still watch the whole video! GG mr. Strats 😇 #adoptanoobie
Top man, but now we are all going to get wrecked by noobs.
Damn I’m hopping back into TLOU but I’m gonna be among these new ones.
Glad to have you back, Elijah! It’s still as fun as ever...see you in the lobbies! 😉👍
Agreed, Tinti! And congrats to your sister! 😁👍
I’ve been bullying newbies all month! But thanks for this video, because it sucks when they’re on your team and don’t know the basics.
Any tips on dealing with someone, when you guys are sharing the same piece of cover and going 1v1, I find my biggest issue being the jankieness of upclose gunfights
Thank you for the tips!
@lgibby123 You’re very welcome! I’ll try to add another tips video soon. I hope you’re loving Factions so far! 😁👍
I've just started playing Factions recently. Can you do video's showing how to do 100% population challenges. Great tips!
Thanks for the comment! There are some guides out there on how to pass the 12 weeks, basically just save the easiest challenges (healing, marking, gifting) for those 100% death weeks. Not too tough at all. 😉👍
Ah I see. I was doing the same challenge over again and got reset. Cheers will give it a try.
I think 20 maps should be a minimum for a new Factions game. More playground variety is always good. And the randomization should be optimized so you don't get the same maps too often.
There are 17 now, so they’re not far off! 😉👍
TLOU Strategist LOL Wait! Where are you getting your info? :D
Thanks for the tips! I'm trying to platinum this game and I'm terribad at factions lol
Amazing tip : sprint a lot plz 😈
Just got the game and this is fun but no joke at the same time
Good luck to all the new players.
It's way faster that's why
@Chad Kensington VR has a faster fire rate, larger magazine size, optional scope, and less bloom. Plus, it sounds amazing when you fire and reload it! 😂👍
TLOU Strategist Hahaha! The part about the noise of reload and shooting I defo agree with
Great video so far I watched till 3:55 but you are making some mistakes bro for example you are looking at the ground if you watch straight you can shoot enemys quicker or the first bomb you throwed on the enemy you could just activate the bomb quickly by throwing it at the wall and then it should land on it or you healed up but you could run to the box, get an extra med kit and then heal up because you would still have 3 med kits then
I’ll try and join!!
New to factions in 2020
I also noticed you use the healing glitch. Will you be going over glitches in MP?
Aloha, i was Bloodydragons153. I literally thought you was a troll account or something during the match. I spent 20 mins trying to figure out if you was legit XD

I don’t even know how some people are 999 I’ve been playing for 4 years or so and I’m 240
Same g im like 220 right now
If you bluescreen a lot, it will slow down your leveling up because you lose lots of progress. Also, the more conscientious you are of your missions the faster you will level up.
I am playing it nearly for 8-9 months and 209 level.
1 level in factions stands for 1 in game week, i.e. 7 matches. That means you spent nearly 1400 matches in factions in four years. I gained 999 lev within 1.5 years, but still rusty and noobie=)
Some people play A LOT, Erick. I’m only a 270 and I’ve played for years! 😂👍
All the new players sprint around the entire map. So annoying! Do they not know that their position is given away??
Do you have a video showing us med kit locations?
I watched this video for a friend lol
LOL, rocknzombie134! 😆😂👍
october pickins👅
12:55 You no longer recommend this if I remember correctly. Your latest videos say you should run past first supply box to prioritise advantageous positioning and good cover so you can put the enemy team on the back foot. I'm not sure how I feel about this strategy. I think it probably works really well when you play with people you know and you communicate but as a solo player in Public Matches I feel like it's not such a good strategy since most random players won't back you up when you rush past the first supply box.
i like you because you play on a pad a true warrior
Is factions as a separate game confirmed?
