This is a must in every village and every part of the country
Due to evaporation water in the pond will evaporate. Ground water to be charged. It will take some time to charge. Polycorbide sheets will spoil the environment/ sheets will give chemicals to the ground due to weather condition.
Hi, Yes there will be 10% evaporation. This is our backup water storage for 3 months of summer and it will be refilled again in the rainy season.
On your second point please note this is not Polycorbide sheets.

Be very aware while making joints of pond liners. My pond liner detached after filling water.

I think it's only for irrigation because it will not contribute much in ground water recharge
But it's guaranteed capture of water, while ground water can run off to lower areas. Only evaporation will be a loss here. Ultimately, both are needed.
How do you filled the pond by natural rain or from the bore well watter

They should have let the rainwater to recharge ground water sources and borewells. Water in this pond will be stationary thus helping pathogens and germs to grow and pollute water. But if they had let it recharge ground water it would be clean and pure water for domestic use

What is the life of the poly based pond liner? Do we know how the plastic may breakdown and pollute the water in the long run?
The life of the pondliner will be approx 10 years.
I think harder clay may also be suggestion,may prevent leakage

pvc liner use is a disappointment one of the problem is stopping water percolating into the ground
more liner needed so that it wont sag-in in the future
