      Also: flame is hot. The fuel is cold. By coiling the cold fuel around the hot nozzle before it's ignited he prevents overheating. Aka "like a rocket engine". It's fucking genius.

    What makes yours different? “We tried Acetylene and Oxygen, but it didn’t do well against the non ferrous alloys, so we switched to a 60A plasma cutter, and a proprietary emp weapon made out of a degaussing coil for cathode ray tubes. If this doesn’t work, we are contemplating a new design after the Ukrainian grenade dropping drones. Given the size of the ring and the kill radius of the grenade, we think we should stand a fair chance! 😂😂😂

      I'm not sure the weapon itself is too strong, but improved engineering combined with the increased use of plastic 3d parts may cause them to dominate until people think of better ways to be heat resistant.

      More likely the cost floor is just going to rise even further. That part you thought you could get away with FDM printing yourself? Now you have to order it SLM printed out of aluminum.

      @@HorizonSniper__ Depth Charge would just spin around because it has bad movement while Dutch Oven cooks it and slowly backs up. Depth Charge would have to hit the arena wall and launch itself at Dutch Oven to have a chance, and it has to make that contact before it's cooked.
      Unless you meant something else.

      Unless the tank's internals themselves catch fire, that's extremely difficult to do. Modern MBTs have a firewall between the engine and the compartments that prevent fires from spreading and the engine bays themselves have anti-fire measures.
      If you're referring to simply heating up the tank from the outside, that's nearly impossible. Tank armor is ceramic and has an integrated NBC system that insulates the crew.
      A tank burnout happens after the armor has been penetrated and the systems already compromised.

      ​@@NHRLIf you actually don't know, Greek fire is a mythical chemical reaction the ancient Greeks found that could make fire burn underwater and be unable to be put out. It's also green. We don't really know what the formula was to make it anymore. The closest we can get to the Greek stories is Napalm.

    Yeah, but are these flame throwing bots ever able to get the temp up high enough on the opponent to do internal damage? All these bots have aluminum housings which dissipate heat really well. Seems more like a gimmick than a real damage dealer.

      There's another video of one melting a bot with a plastic casing. As 3d printed parts become more common fire based weapons will become stronger.

      Depends.. some bots have plastic wheels and frames for weight issues. It is alot for show but it can do real damage as well.

    Yeah honestly a good controlled flame can be immensely hot. I made some forced air/fuel and fuel/no2 burners and that shit is so extreme it warms my 6x7 meter shed up by 10 degrees celcius in seconds.

      Probably to heavy to be usable on most of these bots.. you'd need a very light weight frame and build.. your own bot wouldn't be able to withstand the heat
