Ready for a creamer that will turn your homemade coffee into something special? Plus, it costs so much less than your local coffeehouse, and you have control over all the ingredients!
I made this in a small plant-based milk maker called a Nutr. (Please note that Nutr sent me this lovely machine to try and create this recipe for you.)
So I start off with an unboxing of it and then make the creamer.
I also made a delicious pint of vegan ice cream by adding this creamer to a Ninja Creami pint and adding water to meet the max fill line. Then whisk and freeze for 24 hours and spin on light ice cream!
Need to make this without chocolate chips?
Use about 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and add an extra date or 2 as needed to make it just the right sweetness for you.
    Don't have toasted almonds?
Regular almonds, another nut, or even oats will work. You just won't have that toasted flavor.
Don't have a nut milk maker, but want to make this?
Just melt the chocolate chips, blend everything together well, and strain.
I really do like the Nutr, but I think it is not for every household. Read the Pros & Cons to see if it's a fit for you! Get your own Nutr here: bit.ly/GetYourNutr
    NUTR PROS:
    - No waste and always fresh because you make just the amount of milk you need at a time.
    - Perfect for small or single-person households!
    - Has a settings to make soy milk and grain and nut milks.
    - Has a boil water setting, which earns it a place on my counter all the time.
    - Small counter footprint.
    NUTR CONS:
    - There is a learning curve before you get used to it, but you'll get the hang of it on your second or third batch. Or just watching this whole vid should get you up to speed.
    - Machine will start if left on a setting for a small time, so if you get distracted, you may have to reset it.
    - Many people are confused by the error when the lid is not on or closed the whole way. (Remedy this by adding your ingredients first, then closing the lid, and finally plugin.)
    - Note: this is a SMALL vegan milk maker. You are not going to make your milk for the week at once. It makes about 1 1/2 cups of plant-based milk
    - Even though there's a cleaner setting, you will still need to use the cleaning brush to get it extra clean, as well as clean the lid separately. (I found this easy - but make sure you do not get any water where the cord goes!)

Wow wow wow. I made a double recipe of the creamer with almond milk in place of the water and maple syrup in place of the dates. I used my Vitamix. I froze a pint in my Cremi container and made an iced coffee with the left over. Love, love, love the flavor. I can’t wait to try the ice cream tomorrow!

Linda Simpson I did use my Vitamix and did not have to strain it.

Hi Kathy, I know you had issues with the Nutr and wondered if it was resolved? I got my machine in early January and it just quit mid cycle and won’t restart. I’m really bummed out.

Wow, that looks yummy. I have a Soyajoy which I do like but I don't like the straining & the leftover okara [soy - not sure if I spelled it right] is alot & I haven't found a recipe I like as much as I have left of it. Now, I also have made cream of potato soup - yum!!! And I think a broccoli cream soup. Those turn out great. And I've done almond - still have leftover as well & have to strain. I hadn't thought of running it through twice, I think that's what you were mentioning with this one. That may be an idea to help with the pulp it makes. And it's just not as tasty as some of the soy milk I have gotten [& I like the kind with no flavor & only soy & water] so not sure what they do that I haven't discovered yet. Thank you for sharing your talents Kathy. Oh, & I made Burgers of Beany Goodness from your OATrageous Oatmeals cookbook yesterday. They tasted pretty tasty! 😋

Could you use a Vitamix to make the mixture and then decide if it needed to be strained or not?

    • @KathyHesterVeganRecipes
      @KathyHesterVeganRecipes  Рік тому

Yes, I mention that in the description. You will want to run it long enough to melt the chips or melt the chips then add them to blend.

@@KathyHesterVeganRecipes Wow sorry to hear that I also have the Almond cow I bought a couple of years ago but that was over $200 but it had no heating element in it so I'd make my milk of choice and if I wanted it warm I would put it in the pot and warm it up or the microwave if you use one and if you need soy milk it would have to be cooked anyway so there you have it my dear. but you know what I found out my dear sister with all these wild and crazy gadgets they come up with a blender and a strainer works just as well you don't need a nut milk bag and all that nonsense and you don't even need a high-powered Vitamix a regular blender and a plain old stainless steel fine mesh sieve work just as well and I've been making my own milk for over 35 years maybe a little bit more I started out with soy milk we had to chop it up boil it and do all this things cuz soy milk has to be cooked same thing with rice milk is supposed to be cooked but you know what instead of having all these fancy things and hundreds and tons of dollars of nuts and grains that are organic you actually can just get away with a plain old couple of scoops of Oats a little bit of maple syrup a pinch of salt and voila there's your milk hope you and your family are staying well and safe in these strange and odd times have a nice holiday and happy New Year hugs and love and thank you for getting back to me God bless⚘️🥰

@@chrismcmahan6558 Cheryl is still talking to to them about it, but it has been very difficult, so far no results in the past month. I do love the Arcmira here: amzn.to/3i04rwT
It does all the same functions and is much quieter and the lid stays on, where the Nutr can come unlocked and cause an error.
I will update if and when we get a replacement from Nutr. Cheryl has sent about 15 emails back and forth so far...
