You will need to put up a Stringer. That is what I have on my wall, a 2 x 6 that is 60 in Long. The Stringer is attached to the studs which happened to be 16 inches Center 2 Center. The folding rack then secures to that wooden Stringer.
pictures on their website show an additional lag into the stringer likely into a stud behind it or concrete. I wouldn't trust just the wood screws into the stringer for support.
Not really. There is about an inch of play on both sides. Yes, when I'm done with the lift, it's sometimes hard to set it down perfectly but, the j hooks are big, so the bar won't slip off the j hook.
Should be using lag bolts into the stringer, the holes for the wood screws are the initial adjustment.
Great video, what kind of shims did you use to get legs even with garage floor?
Just some small pieces of wood. That was it.

Is this the short or tall folding rack? 21.5inch? Thanks for the video as well.
It's the short one. That is why it close to the wall. I wanted the one closer to the wall so I could use my garage too.
I'm looking into these, are they designed to match up to stud spacing in the wall? I'm curious about the initial installation

Did you have a problem with the spacing between the barbell sleeve and jhooks?
Not really. There is about an inch of play on both sides. Yes, when I'm done with the lift, it's sometimes hard to set it down perfectly but, the j hooks are big, so the bar won't slip off the j hook.
So the barbell does not fit right or it barely fits? Or should I purchased better jhooks?
Do you have a video of it folded? About to pull the trigger and want to see
No I don't. Sorry, for me I will probably never have to fold them in, at my garage.
