Offlane is my favorite role. Not many people like it. Even when you queueing games, picking offlane finds you a match so fast which means very few people want to play it. But for me, I love it cause it's so challenging. And winning(or at least surviving and not feeding) against 2-3 players in the hardest lane in the laning stage is so satisfying, especially when you're owning the enemy carry and they start tilting against their own supports.

as a pos 3 player who always destroy the lane and getting targetted 1 v 5. my team just afk jungling (NOT CLEARING WAVES)while the whole enemy is in offlane. this video makes me happy
Yes this is my problem too. I'm making space bot, killing their pos 1 with my support, but almost EVERY game, they lose top instantly and then the pos 1 comes offlane only to be followed by the enemy team which means we have ZERO safe farm because now we don't have a tower in the offlane, my offlane isn't farmed up quite enough yet to be a threat against a fed enemy, and the carry doesn't have any farm either because they came bot and were instantly followed by more heroes. So it basically makes it instantly a teamfight situation which, while it could work for SOME games, depending on your draft, it could be awful. It's just frustrating to play a game where I win my lane almost every time (even helping get a gank somewhere sometimes) and then the safelaner almost ALWAYS loses their lane. And you know, I don't think it's usually the carry's fault, I see A LOT of really bad Pos 5 supports. They don't try to block camps, they don't ward their own camps to ensure they can pull, they don't harass properly, they don't buy items to keep the carry alive in lane...and then they feed like 4 times within 7 minutes. And so then the enemy team just comes bot which then screws up my own chances at success because now I'm expected to pull the weight while the carry farms and the stupid support doesn't buy wards, stack camps, push lanes etc. Instead, at that point in the game, I just see POS 5's go mid while the mid jungles and then they feed even more, haha.
Got inspired to play as an offlaner by Bulldog, and it's the most fun position in Dota in my opinion. You get to do a lot more crazy things, and it will benefit your team too, and you're mostly active through 90% of the games compared to other roles.

This is nice. I came back to dota2 again casually, my last game was 5yrs ago when I was 5K mmr. A week ago I got my new rank Legend 4 as pos4/pos5 im doing well now on this position, but since lot of things changed im still trying to figure out what my playtype should be.
Once i started breaking down the jobs that needs to be done in a game, it started to be more clear what i should be doing and I gained 500 mmr pretty quickly. I play pos 3/4. I make sure that pos 4 always has wave clear, and i make sure my pos 3 can always cause chaos. This video described 3/4 pefectly and I will revisit when I consider other roles in the future.
Agreed. Especially on low ranks. Worked for me from legend 1 to immortal 2k when kotl treant + glimmer forcestaff broken af and when snapfire first release. Sadly a lot of stonehead lowranks dont believe this. All you need to do is to check the fact, 80 90% of lowranks player have their most successful hero and featured heroes on their account profile a cores hero. All of them thinks core role is the best and they always want to play cores role, played and watched a lot of cores role. With that fact, that means theres less interest in pos 4 5, that means all of these lowranks dont have enough practice for pos 4 5, essentially they are at least 1-3 ranks below their rank as a pos 4 5. So if u r spamming pos 4 5 and u r good at them, you basically outrank your enemy pos 5 or 4. And only with that, the game became one sided for you. Easy high winrate
@@disorder3182 The only thing that the carry has to think is to farm and timing the right clash to fight. While pos 4/5 mainly do all the other important things in the game, pulling, stacking, wards duel with other supports, giving the carry enough space to farm, smoking for clash, roaming, checking other lanes safety, sabotaging other lanes farm. All the things that will makes the team run smoothly. Without a good support, the team will crash
the problem I have with all Jenkins videos is that they don't account for how the advice should vary for the differences in brackets. Playing like a 9k mmr pos 5 but in a 2k mmr bracket is going to get you reported and lose games imo because at that mmr carries feel like they need to be baby sat and will feed and not farm well otherwise. Thats one example but it applies to a lot of jenkins tips

Also I would add that what you said I started maining 4 heroes , mainly silencer and focus on pos 5 who can become carries i.e Silencer, CM, Lina if safe carry starts baby ragging. Unreal video, should be dota 2 tutorial video for lanning.
I'm only a 3.5k player usually POS 4 or 5 it's nice to know I play offlane and mid exactly the way you think they should play. Offlane is by far my favorite role because I am an extremely aggressive chaotic player and this is what I do all offlane phase. I also love to face tank up hills as offlane.
once, we let our carry farm for 30 mins giving him and top entire lane and all nc camps in the game. He completely left top lane unattended and focused only on nc. as a result, the creeps pushed top and destroyed all the towers top. whenever, we went top to kill creeps and stop the wave, he would ping and ask us to leave. In the end, we lost the game despite Am farming for nearly 40 mins and having all necessary Am items because he was the worst am player in the world. Lol
I think in lanes pos5's should be more aware of offlane spikes. I got an aggresive lich vs BB, the first two levels we pushed him a lot, but come level 4, the bb was pretty much unkillable for us, and he kept going in and getting negative trades and pinging at me for not going.
It depends of the matchup. There is no formula to win every single game, you need to analyze the situation and be creative. What does your team needs you to do in a specific moment of the game? I belive part of being a good dota player is being able to tell what needs to be done and when it needs to be done, but it takes a lot of practice
Really like this one. Just as an offlaner. I dropped 2k mmr got 1.7k back already. There is no space for weak on offlane. You have to be rambo. But there’s a time where you cannot be Rambo always. You have to get certain timing on items cause you become useless. Like blink. Just get 2-5 min finish necessary items and get back. To rambo mode

In the end, we lost the game despite Am farming for nearly 40 mins and having all necessary Am items because he was the worst am player in the world. Lol
i really like these videos specified for each role. please keep this series up.

Dat timer transition :o
even in my 4k bracket a lot of carries doesn't know that if his safelane tower is destroyed, they should farm triangle instead of their own jungle
I think in lanes pos5's should be more aware of offlane spikes. I got an aggresive lich vs BB, the first two levels we pushed him a lot, but come level 4, the bb was pretty much unkillable for us, and he kept going in and getting negative trades and pinging at me for not going.
love the content, been watching and using this as filler while I work. thanks
One of the best dota 2 content creator on UA-cam Jenkins. Gj and keep making these vids.
Hey man thanks for the video. I haven't played dota in nearly 5 years but it made me go back and look at how I did and how I could have improved.
stacks ur ferrets and racoons before farming them
That description of offlaners had me cracking up, great video Jenkins.
So as position 5 i should gank nonstop on the early game? And let the carry farm alone?
It depends of the matchup. There is no formula to win every single game, you need to analyze the situation and be creative. What does your team needs you to do in a specific moment of the game? I belive part of being a good dota player is being able to tell what needs to be done and when it needs to be done, but it takes a lot of practice
Jenkins thinking he can help people un stupidity themselves. What a hero having hope for people.
4 years playing offlane pudge, its true I get very aggressive and very greedy in lane resulting in wins, now I'm at Divine 1 from Archon 2
The thumbnail is literally a pic of my brother playing dota
Jenkins you're really a cool dude. I loved listening to you and elevated videos but I'm still glad you're doing well by yourself and i also hope elevated found what he likes to do. Keep it up buddy
im a doctor and you should use healing salve for those ferret bite, you can store the ferrets in your backpack while you dont need them
super make sense, love it.. really expecting more from u
here in 2k sea as pos 1 main i met a lot of pos 3 who pick HARD CARRY as offlaner and didn't even make space
Watching videos like these again because im trying to play dota 2 after 3 years of hiatus.
In my bracket people still think that supports need farm as much as carries
As pos 5, if we are winning our lane.. I farm/pull small/medium camp or visit mid (if necessary).
bruh your videos are helping me to become better at dota plz continue making but your carry videos arent working out as you said, supports and other roles strats etc are superb by the way.
Thanks for the update on the hobo situation.
Yes hello, Dr. Acoon here; my advice to you is 2 clarities and a glimmer cape
Those damn flannigans and their ferrets ate my big mac near the alley!
wow... they're expanding to g the burger joint garbage bin market
this is bad news for me
Played dota for a long time and this is one of billion simulations when you play the game. Indeed, the things you've mentioned will help low mmr players to be better, they might even reach 5k but when playing high rank game it's all about mind games, creativity, communication and team work
this is so helpful too bad I always forget the most basic stuff while in game
I love this type of videos, thank you Jenkins
