  • Here's a quick video of my 1934 Electrolux Vacuum cleaner as it arrived.
    I am intending to give this a complete overhaul, polish the chrome, clean/repair the leatherette cylinder, rewire the motor and replace the carbon motor brushes. The metal badge also needs reattaching
    At the moment the condition is more than acceptable, but I hope I can get it look almost as good as new.

    I have one of them, it came out of my great-uncle's house and still works.

    Classic Electrolux--love the black and white and period music, as well! While I don't know the denotation of the 'Z' , its connotation is represents the original design without changes. 'ZB', for example, would indicate a modification of some sort. Congrats on a fine cleaner!

      Thanks, I believe this is the original model of that range and from what I can gather online this model started production in 1934. Mine would have to have been made before 1936 as on the royal warrant badge (for the UK market) it still refers to HRH Prince of Wales, who at the time was of course Edward VIII.
