    I have installed several sets of USA standard gears and never had a problem, including the ones in my XJ on 35s that I have beat on for 4 seasons. Revolution gears are good as well. As far a regearing goes it's really not that difficult to do just time consuming, patience is key.

  • @Mr2greys
    @Mr2greys 2 роки тому +5

    I did a 8.8 and HP D30 swap with ARB lockers in my TJ and did it all myself. At that point Revolution didnt exist yet so I had no real choice other than Yukon, they have been fine but that was also 10 years ago.
    Regearing isn't difficult but it is timeconsuming, when I did it I used Billavista's regearing Bible which was the go-to guide at the time.

    I recently contacted a semi large shop with Axle in their name, about regear for my JLU Rubicon. told them I wanted 5.13's front and rear with master install package.
    they said they don't do master installs with regear, it will be Ring and Pinion Gear only, Price of $3,500. to $4,000+ and a 2-3 day job.
    First off I want new Bearings and Seals if someone is going messing around in there, and they say they don't replace with new ones.
    Second, they are a shop with several bays and they are going to tell me it takes 2 to 3 days to replace 2 Ring and Pinions only.

    I’ve been considering regearing my wife’s JKU Rubi. I’m running “35s” (315/70/17) with 4.10s and it drives fine, we don’t do much off-road but we tow a heavy popup a couple times a year and engine temps tend to climb. I’ve got nothing in front of the grill and a Mishimoto radiator and still have to go real easy to keep temps under 240. I’m thinking a set of 4.88 will help.

    • @cherokeeronnie
      @cherokeeronnie  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t recommend 488 for that plus the temps reaching the high is another issue I tow with mine and I only see 234 than it drops quick. 488 will have your rpm’s screaming

    • @AnglinTexas
      @AnglinTexas 2 роки тому

      @@cherokeeronnie how much are you towing with those temps? I’m towing right at the limit of what it’s rated for (3500 lbs). The chart I referenced shows 435 RPM increase from 4.1 to 4.88 being 2750 RPM at 70.

    • @crashtke
      @crashtke 2 роки тому +1

    Love the videos and info. Would like your opinion on what I should go with in my WJ. 2004 4.0 currently on 32s with factory 3.55s. Highly unlikely but possibly 35s in the far distant future. Jeep is built around running a 33 though. Running the numbers I’m seeing 4.10s but have been told “you can’t have too much gear”. Jeep sees allot of sustained highway driving and I’m afraid 4.56 will be too low for normal driving.
