I love to see this! My son is in the Air Force and was in South Korea for 18 months. He surprised me last December and walked in the door with his brother who planned the surprise with him. I too grabbed him bawling like a baby and proceeded to fall to my knees. What a blessing our sons and daughters and all of the men and women before them who sacrifice so much for the safety and freedom each American enjoys. Thank you young man for your selflessness and courage. God Bless America!

My 15 year old son tells me he wants to go to the Air Force. I am scared. It’s a very scary thing when it is someone you love. I am a proud American and all the men in my family except, dad, and husband were in the service. I thank all those that sacrifice so we can have our freedoms. ❤

@@333thomkat Interestingly, parents and children CAN serve together. I read a story about a mother and daughter who were serving in the same Air National Guard unit when one of them was ordered to deploy. The other volunteered for deployment because it was less stressful than worrying from home.

My dad ex UK guardsman 1938 -1944, was driving north to Scotland back in the 1960s. He pulled into a roadside café and there was a young soldier just sitting supping a cup of tea. A conversation started immediately and the guy was heading home and waiting till morning for a coach. A map was spread out and the guys home address was noted not far off dads route. Well the lad was bundled into the van and he was taken HOME. The family dragged dad into the house and fed him a fresh cooked breakfast. Dad said it was the best one he'd had in a long.

As a mom of a vet who was in Afghanistan and Iraq, I feel what they are feeling. And there are no words to describe it.
There’s just something about a soldier coming home that makes me cry everytime I see one of these!!! My son served in the Marines and it was always good to see him come home !!!

This brings tears to my eyes when my Grandson was station away from home. When came home for good, he came home to live with me. What a joy we are very close and now we live in different states but we both call wach other all the time. I miss him as much as he misses me. Any time he has worries about anything he calls me and I do the same. We have been bond by the hip since he was born. The joy of see your child, grand child or any love come to visit after being away in the military is an overwhelming JOY, HAPPINESS WITH TEARS...Than they are shipped out again and your prays goes with the hug you give them away from home so far away. Love and Prayers always see you through carry your heart with them until you meet again. Glory to God when they return safe. ❤❤❤😊😅😂😊
Grew up as a military brat and people that don’t have family in the military don’t realize how hard it is for everybody involved. Thank you for your service and thank your parents for their service.

Yes I agree I tell everyone the same thing. And I get so upset with those who treat their parents terribly or talk bad about them. For example I had a friend who would constantly say things like I wish my b**** mom would die. It would make me cry and so angry cuz she doesn't know how blessed she is to have her momma still. I'd give anything to have my parents. Both my parents were killed by a drunk driver when I was 7 years old. They been gone for 34 years now. I miss them so terribly bad, and I get jealous of those who have their parents. My husbands parents are also gone so life has been tough. We only have each other. We have no mom or dad to call for a shoulder, or for help, or for advise. It's really hard. My whole life changed the night they was murdered. So spend as much time as possible and then some, never leave or go to bed angry, and hold those you love tighter for a lil longer, life is to short. And then they're gone

On March 21, 2015 my husband and I went to the grocery store purchased
Chicken legs for the grandkids we make it every Saturday! It's there favorite! My husband always cook the meat on Saturday! I prepare the sides . After the meal I cleaned the kitchen.
My husband played marbles and little Army men with our grandson!
Everyone went to sleep.
Woke up went to church
He preached his sermon and a massive heart attack in front of all our grandkids! My husband was a retired military.
But he was a financial analyst for the military
When he passed away!❤
