I grew up a teenager in the 90s and I love the rap from this time the most...but yes alot to catch up on...so many beefs that intertwined and shaped the industry that it is today...lives given and taken...lines drawn and wars fought over lyrics and record sales! 2pac was and always will be a cultural icon for many reason but especially because he had zero fucks to give and the world was different...rap today is soft and rappers are worried about being canceled for offending a certain group or groups of people. Different times and rap that was unfiltered new amd raw and WITHOUT APOLOGY on a level that will never be repeated again!!! And this song was one of the hardest dis records ever! True History!!!!

Originally Produced by Snoop's Doggs cousin DAZ DILLINGER who also happened to be a member of THE DOGG POUND GANGSTAZ, DR.DRE sampled it for Pac who used it for this track "CAN'T C ME" when he came out of jail and joined Death Row Records.
Originally, it was used by THE DOGG POUND GANGSTAZ on their
    "U CAN'T C ME" song.
The anger in this song is a clear indication on how badly he wanted to come out of jail and put his anger on wax directed to those he claimed they shot him before going to jail.
"D-R-E you got me heated, my word's like a penitentiary..."
He telling Dr. Dre who worked on this track how it gave him that burning desire to spit on it.
You can also hear him say
"Dr. Dre all day, and 2 Pac"
meaning he spends the whole day in the studio working with Dr. Dre..
That was when he was in cool terms with Dr. Dre. Before Dre left Death Row Records due to it's negative energy that was usually sparked by it's Suge Knight who also later on instigated Pac's diss for Dre in his last studio album
    The Don Killuminati.

One producer said that Interscope would give them Tupac’s music before it was released and told that they had to rap like Tupac. A background singer heard Snoop, Dre and a few other rappers listening to one of Tupac’s songs she had jumped on. She asked where did they get Tupac’s music from and was told Interscope gave it to them. When she went back and told Pac, he trashed the whole track. Faith gave Biggie and Puffy Combs the first version of Hit Em Up before he released it because Pac heard the track on a song Biggie released. In retaliation Tupac made Hit Em Up Part 2 which is the version you like, and Pac started the song off with “I slept with your wife” out of anger for Faith giving them his song because he thought that he and Faith were friends and Pac had a lot of respect for Faith. Faith betraying Pac ended their friendship. Then it was said that Snoop stole music from Pac for his song Gin and Juice. It’s said that Pac trashed that music when Snoop dropped his song. So Suge stopped all that when Pac joined Death Row. Suge beat up DJ Quik because Quik let the Makaveli CD leak by accident and that stopped Tupac’s music from leaking. So being shot, falsely accused and jailed for rape, rappers stealing his music and Interscope owing him more than enough money where Pac could have bailed himself out of jail. That by the time he came home he was pissed. That’s why the lyrics in this song says, look what hell made. But in everything you hear about Tupac, you have never heard that he intentionally tried to hurt anyone. We say all the time why rappers today kill each other and don’t do anything when they are attacked by outside elements or what happened to Trayvon Martin. But Tupac driving along one night saw two white men beating up a black guy. He had his driver pull the Limo over and he fired on them. He didn’t know they were off duty or undercover cops, but he didn’t like what he saw and did something about it. That’s how Tupac Shakur was!

I wanna recommend some stuff but its so hard.. He got so much dope stuff... I was looking through the comments to see if anything stood out but ended up liking 99% of the comments.. His catalog is like eminem he got something for everyone and for whatever mood you're in. Thats why so many people loved him cause he got something for every occasion and the way he wrote his music and delivered the music was like no one else..
Its hard to just go with one song. Imma leave out so many good ones. 99% of his stuff is dope..
He does have another freestyle with biggie which alot of people dont know about i think. Its live so the audio isn't the best but you can still hear it. And there is no video (at least that i know of) Its with Big daddy kane(another legend in the game) and shyheim too and its a written freestyle from everybody im pretty sure. But still dope af imo.
    Also some good ones :
    *Bonnie & Clyde*
*Dear mama* (A tear jerker. This song can make a grown man cry)
    *keep ya head up*
*2 of America's most wanted* feat snoop dog.
    *California Love* feat dr. Dre.
There is so many more i could write. I could write his whole catalog cause most of his stuff is crazy good..

A UA-camr read the story behind this song that said that Dre gave this beat to Snoop for the Doggy Style project or for the Dogg Pound, but it didn't make the cut. Dre also gave it to Cube and it didn't make the cut, so Dre shelved the tracks to this song. The story said that when Tupac came to Death Row a few years after Dre tried working with Snoop and Cube with this beat, Dre pulled this track off the shelf to see what Tupac could do with it. The UA-camr read that Dre was blown away watching Tupac slay this beat with his lyrics. By the way, George Clinton, the Funk Master, and Nancy had laid their tracks back when Dre was trying to use it for Snoop's album. But that Dre loved Tupac's version of this song.
