Cant wait for this to open, hopefully this means a whole different service will take the Cranbourne and packenham line’s place through the city loop and we will have much better public transport options!
I'll miss the direct line to Flagstaff station, where my university is at.

im predicting the metro tunnel will open late 2024 or early 2025 depending if the progress is good. im also hoping that the next semi major project will be adding electrification to the melton and wyndham vale train lines in melbournes west
The electrification to Wyndham Vale was meant to be completed like a few months ago but they haven't even started it
It's a little bit hard to say because if they are electrified there may be some overcrowding from Footscray > Sunshine because at that point there would be six lines running through that corridor (Sunbury, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Airport, Melton and Wyndham Vale) so it would be a very expensive project
While electrificatio to Melton would be great I doubt it. Pretty sure the govt have indicated its going to be VLos for a while...
I’d love to see electrification also to Geelong as it has the most passengers on all of V/Line. Would make sense.
Definitely need the electrification to free up velocities for vline.

It wont be done until at least 2029. But NASA will have landed on the moon again before that
the tunnel section may be finished, but they still have to finish construction on the stations and test everything to make sure its all safe and up to code

wait the city loop had platform screen doors, was a twin tunnel from south yarra, had 5 stations instead of three and more man i really missed out on what was happening
