Coming from a poor Canadian family living in a backwoods community in Ontario, Shania rose to fame like a phoenix from the ashes, and became the best-selling female country artist EVER. Her album Come on Over (which, yes, this song is from), is the eighth best selling album of all time, making it the best selling album from a solo female artist OF ALL TIME. You can rave all you want about Rhianna and Beyonce and all those other modern pop stars, but Shania will forever hold her own. She is an icon of Canadian country, and made Nashville what it is today for female artists.
The video is a DECADE after Robert Palmer's using women for eye candy, but Shania has the opposite song and show. Shania had so many top 5 hits for much of the later 90's, and later. She had so many cross over hits, 30+ million sales. A CANADIAN treasure.
