    I am a Veteran but do not need a free campsite, I would be happy to pay and help the others that do. Wishing you the best in this new adventure. I think you should hit up Harley to sponsor the large Veteran handicap accessible cabin, what better advertisement could they ask for. Maybe some large dealers could each do a small one. Metrics could do the same and would be welcome I am sure. Again best of luck, us veterans appreciate all you do, and are planning to do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Here is a name for you to kick around... that follows the Military theme,
    Fort Scooter, OK.

      I think Adam could also get a bunch of us to come out there and put our skills together to throw up a few cabins ourselves. Kind of like a habitat for humanities for veterans. Think about how many cabins we could knock out in a week if you got a dozen or so of us there sweating our asses off.

    Nice piece of land. As for ideas; one would be to throw up a simple metal structure (like a barn) buy maybe half a dozen motorcycle lifts, and have a do it yourself repair shop for campers. That way someone can “tune up” their bike after making the long ride in. Do a donation drive with your viewers for old tools. Vets can work on their bikes free.

      A second Randy's sentiment - speaking as a vet. If you're going to do flags, I'd recommend instead of Old Glory, or the POW flag, put up the 5 Service flags and leave it at that. The American Flag can (and often is) a trigger for some of us. Going over there being lied to about your mission only to find out you're nothing more than some asshole politician's play toy and thug-enforcer sort of disillusions us to the whole "weepy eyed over the Starts and Stripes" ideology we were raised with. A lot of people wont admit to this because most multi-legged beach creatures (civilians) wont or don't understrand the true nature of what some of us went through or even a remote smidgeon of the hell some of the vets waded through to get home. Some vets find the Stars and Stripes healing... Other's not so much... Personally, I'd steer away from putting a bunch of flags in their part of the camp, or going overly "patriotic" in any sort of theme. Leave Old Glory for the entrance of the camp or in the club house lawn. I know personally, after over 12 years in the "box", not having patriotism & "thank you's" crammed down my gullet can sometimes be a refreshing thing. Its why I never tell people of my service unless the topic demands it. I just want to be treated like any normal guy. It actually hurts when someone offers to pay for my meal, or buys me a drink and deep down it upsets me when I hear "thank you for your service". Why? Cause I don't deserve it. I made it home. My brother's didn't. It's just some honest food for thought. It's a fine line between wanting to show the Vet's support and rubbing the loss in their face. We wont show it and we will mask the pain well because we know your heart's in the right place, but please always try to remember that there's still a war still raging in the hearts and minds of some of us. Trust me when I say that just being yourself and a cool guy to these cats and being willing to listen but not wanting to talk about it, and just offering a place free of charge where we can go and relax, and be left alone.... and showing off your toys and adventures with them, goes a hundred-billion miles! It's probably the best thing you could give a combat Vet.

    Adam the vey area is awsome. Especially the wounded warrior cabin. I just wonder if them guys/gals would want to be singled out. Whits fence and all. I was injured in service. Not disabled but, injured yes. I dont think im someone that needs to be singled out. Im just someone who was unlucky.

    • @RDouglasSchuckertSenior
      @RDouglasSchuckertSenior 5 років тому

      Oh please don't mention "Wounded Warrior" to the Combat Vets. That organization has pissed off way more Vets than it's helped. Just the name alone is enough to enrage a lot of us. Why? Because that "charity" keeps way more than it gives. The organizers of that group are using the charity to fill their own pockets more than they are using it to truly help vets. The average salary among their 11 top executives is $200k averaged between them. They....are....a....disgrace and most of us Vets know it.

    Adam, as an old Vet myself, I gotta say thanks, Bro! Thanks for looking out for the brotherhood! Its awesome to see people like you and your old lady do the things you do! I stumbled on your channel looking for videos and time wasters as Im thinking about pulling the trigger on a '19 Heritage the end of May. I started with the videos about your cam and D&D Upgrades and at first I thought: "Oh great, another California speed douche looking to piss people off with stupid loud bikes and irresponsible behavior..." but I did like what I saw so I checked out some of your other videos, and I can honestly say I am glad I did! You seem to be a really cool and standup guy and you're a hoot to watch! I love your bike vids, I loved seeing how you got your old lady into bikes (something Im hoping to do with mine as well), and I really love what you're doing with the charity and veteran work! A suggestion that you may or may not be interested in..... Most war vets tend to find shooting crazy therapeutic. I know insurances and liability and the dumbass political climate being what it is, I'd still highly recommend offering a small section on the back of your property to run a gun club out of. Just a suggestion. It would pay off for the Vets big time. Anyway, thanks for what you're doing, Brother! Ride safe!

    Adam, Building tree houses like the ones you posted in this video takes some special knowledge. I've watched a program on the DIY network with these guys that do this for a living. They showed how they make special joists to account for the fact that the trees keep growing but obviously the house does not. You may want to check that out. This is not a tree house you build for your kid in the backyard, this is actually a hotel in the trees. Congratulations on the property! I hope to visit it once the bus is done. Good luck to you my virtual friend.

    Oh Adam, I am so excited for you, Ashley, Scooter and all of us. I have been listening to you wanting a campground for a long time since following you., like 4 yrs.
    The smile on your face and the excitement in your voice says it all. I love the fact of the area for the Veterans, your such a good and loving man. I am blessed to, not met you in person yet, but I know you well. Oh man, this is just the greatest thing ever, this will be a epic place to come to and hang out. We are lucky to have you in our lives. And you can tell Scooter is loving that area, he is the main feller now, :) and glad to see the cycle come in and was a easy ride on the road. I know I will get hubby there, he loves to pan for gold...Oh you have me just filled with so much excitement, I feel I bought it. LOL...The Lord has many good plans for you and Ashley, and our Lil' Scooter whom I love...YEE-HAW AMERICA!!!!! hell yeah....

    Congrats! Hey as a biker and a camper I love using a hammock tent when I camp. But so many places don't have camping sites where you can hang up a hammock tent. So having a few places with trees that are strong enough to hold hammock tent and 2 trees spaced about 16 - 18 feet would really rock! Thanks you for all you have done, are doing and will do for our Vets!
