i just love how xalatath talks about how the old gods are dead but fails to mention we were the ones to kill them. and now we stand against her and the nerubians she instrumentalized
the Old Gods are inconsequential parasites sent to tenderize the Void's food, they talked a big game, but they were bugs, nothing more, they've likely sent thousands and thousands of "old gods" to infest planets.
She knew they would all die and tried her luck with Nzoth releasing her to find her own path, like Azshara , but Xhal wants more, to bring back empire that failed and become its queen in spite all dead old gods, and since she originated from Black Empire she can use everything that is left to her own merit which makes her very dangerous even more than Old Gods..

I am still convinced that Xalatath is an avatar of WoW's version of Hastur in the game. There are hints of Hastur all over Azeroth, and everything she is doing with whispers and manipulation is all things relating to the King in Yellow.

I agree. The Horde at this point is no Horde anymore. The Horde is now more like Alliance 2.0. Thrall being a nice and humble orc, Baine being a nice and humble Tauren, Lor'themar being and nice and humble Blood Elf (now married aswell), Gazlowe being a nice and humble Goblin, Calia Menethil is more like an alliance queen and Rokhan, I dont know he is the only relevant named darkspear troll after Vol'jin. Garrosh, Saurfang, Vol'jin, Nathanos are all dead while Sylvanas and Gallywix are beaten and no Horde members anymore. The Alliance is the same as in the past. Almost the same Leaders and all races are strong again. Horde seems to be in a bad Spot right now.

Ansurak accepts Xal’Ataths bargain and kills her mother because over the course of the thousands of years of Neferess’s reign, the nerubians have drifted slowly into decline and towards extinction, and in Ansurak’s eyes she is doing nothing to alleviate the suffering of the people. It’s a doing the wrong thing for the right reasons sort of deal to her. Of course Xal is using the blood of the old gods to empower the nerubians and chain them to HER will, as well as some earthen, and some Dalaran survivors that were taken prisoner. Sort of a parallel to the orcs and mannoroth’s blood.

That was BfA. Then we all fought N'Zoth thinking we were being smart but we actually lost. The image of us, each, individually being the "Savior of the World" was N'Zoth's doing, and everything since has been the mad hallucinations of Old Gods.

truth be told as a #BasicWarcraft owner ive never been so unmotivated to play knowing folks were lvl caped before #BasicWarcraft owner were aloud to play then warcraft them selves posted spoilers on there own page, I feel no urgancey to play given I know I will pernatly be behind on the grind so no rush to play.
The writing is so bad... it's like a fanfic. Such cheesy lines like "we should get out of here" "but where's the fun in that?" and everything has a stupid pet name... "say hello zee-zee!" It's all so juvenile. I'm expecting any minute now for someone to say "I have a plan that's so crazy, it just might work!"
Besides all the insecure manchilds in your comment section, sniffing out woke agenda basically everywhere, I just find the story thus far to be almost as confusing as in BfA. It's not even complex, it just feels so random from what I've seen and read about it. Like they were desperately trying to involve any character that has been relevant one way or another in the past in order to convey some sort of nostalgia, but I truly wonder what is the good of this in terms of storytelling. I didn't expect former Blizzard glory when Danuser finally left, but at least some sort of recovery could have been possible. Nada.
this is almost a decent criticism of the story. but it's not like this storytelling is anything new. they've done the "random assortment of secondary and tertiary characters rally the natives of the new zones against a common enemy" story every expansion since legion

Cata: lore characters rally the locals of the new zones to face Deathwing. MoP: lore characters rally the Pandas, Jinyu, Hozen, and kind of the Mantid to face off against the Thunder King and Garrosh. WoD: lore characters rally the Frostwolf orcs and Yrel's peeps to fight the orcs and Legion. You already accounted for Legion to now, so I'll spare my fingers lol Overall it's not a valid criticism at all. If it isn't hitting for you, it has nothing to do with this reason.

Watching all War Within cutscenes and story, I finally get the same feeling like when going through W3 + The Frozen Throne for the first time, watching Arthas discuss secrets with Kel Thuzad, night elves joining the fight against Archimonde, and so on. I never expected it to happen from Blizzard in 2024. Its amazing. Of course the gameplay is retail wow but at least the story is great.

And believe me I played may RPG games, played wow since i was 12, near the end of vanilla (im 30 now), played a lot of W3, and lot of Star Wars the Old Republic MMO - this is as close to SWTOR storytelling as WOW ever was, and its cool. Of course the story is more like Shrek than like Batman: the Dark Knight, but it has always been, even in Legion/Arthas times, when you look back, it has SO many holes and is sometimes just ridiculous.
I am legit gay and I’m so tired of seeing so many female characters. I would kill to have more muscular men in WoW who are battle hardened and not the amount of butch lesbian like women they have in game currently.

The writing is so bad... it's like a fanfic. Such cheesy lines like "we should get out of here" "but where's the fun in that?" and everything has a stupid pet name... "say hello zee-zee!" It's all so juvenile. I'm expecting any minute now for someone to say "I have a plan that's so crazy, it just might work!"
It's all for newer generations of players who don't care about the writing in the previous expansions.
Because WoW has always been such a great story teller…

Besides all the insecure manchilds in your comment section, sniffing out woke agenda basically everywhere, I just find the story thus far to be almost as confusing as in BfA. It's not even complex, it just feels so random from what I've seen and read about it. Like they were desperately trying to involve any character that has been relevant one way or another in the past in order to convey some sort of nostalgia, but I truly wonder what is the good of this in terms of storytelling. I didn't expect former Blizzard glory when Danuser finally left, but at least some sort of recovery could have been possible. Nada.
this is almost a decent criticism of the story. but it's not like this storytelling is anything new. they've done the "random assortment of secondary and tertiary characters rally the natives of the new zones against a common enemy" story every expansion since legion

WotLK: lore characters from the RTS games and Vanilla/BC rally the Taunka, Tuskarr, Giants, and various other races of Northrend against Arthas. Cata: lore characters rally the locals of the new zones to face Deathwing. MoP: lore characters rally the Pandas, Jinyu, Hozen, and kind of the Mantid to face off against the Thunder King and Garrosh. WoD: lore characters rally the Frostwolf orcs and Yrel's peeps to fight the orcs and Legion. You already accounted for Legion to now, so I'll spare my fingers lol
Overall it's not a valid criticism at all. If it isn't hitting for you, it has nothing to do with this reason.
@@nickmessner700 the criticism wasn't about how formulaic the story is. i was pointing out to OP that this is just how the storytelling in wow goes, and one shouldn't expect much more.
but i can see where their criticism comes from. the story comes across as a bunch of random character beats and plotlines that don't really form a cohesive bigger picture, even if there is a more high-level expansion or patch storyline that does make some narrative sense, at least. not saying the individual zone storylines can't do that, but more often than not they do fall flat.
Unfinished dialog on a released game? GW2 does a better job than this.

Watching all War Within cutscenes and story, I finally get the same feeling like when going through W3 + The Frozen Throne for the first time, watching Arthas discuss secrets with Kel Thuzad, night elves joining the fight against Archimonde, and so on. I never expected it to happen from Blizzard in 2024. Its amazing.
Of course the gameplay is retail wow but at least the story is great.

And believe me I played may RPG games, played wow since i was 12, near the end of vanilla (im 30 now), played a lot of W3, and lot of Star Wars the Old Republic MMO - this is as close to SWTOR storytelling as WOW ever was, and its cool.
Of course the story is more like Shrek than like Batman: the Dark Knight, but it has always been, even in Legion/Arthas times, when you look back, it has SO many holes and is sometimes just ridiculous.
