- Watch out when arriving in Manila International Airport. "Officials" will try to overcharge you for a taxi by calling it for you. Don't fall for it. Go to the YELLOW TAXI STAND near Bay 14 outside arrivals. I found out the Coupon taxis are good too. (See top link below)

Thanks to all you people for taking the time to make comments. Not only me but all visitors to your countries appreciate it
The management of the airport should have taken steps to correct this problem which has been going on for a long time now. All the sectors and agency of the Government that is consider responsible for foreign affairs and tourism in the country are not doing their mandated job correctly.
Airport management, Airport police are protecting them.
Even non government workers will scam u .
yes, backhanders a plenty...welcome to Ph.
Just get a grab or the coupon taxi which has a fixed rate dependinhbon your area of destination. Less hassle

But price gouging.
80% Taxi drivers in Manila are sooo greedy!!!
Ha???? 80 lang ba???? 100% talaga kamo!!!!!!!
@@glohao9183 Meron pa rin

On October 2023 I transit in Aquino airport..get on a taxi to my hotel the driver good English he was a true Filipino guy .shortly I arrived in my hotel as the taxi meter I have to pay 250 peso ..my money is 1000 peso..he didn't have change and I try to change to the owner of the hotel but no .so the driver knew my tomorrow flight at 9 am but I have to go airport at 5 am and he gave me option he will pick up me tomorrow and pay him tomorrow too..my hotel is like a guest home .The Driver very polite honest and kindness . At 5 a clock am he coming on time ..After Arrived Aquino Airport I pay 250 + 250 + tip 200 total 700 peso more with small money .
I never found a good driver like him
Try thailand, they charging UK prices, I have money but refuse to pay and use public transport fk em
Nakatakot talaga sa Pinas marami manloloko, nag punta ako noon for my first time sa Hawaii at ang mga taxi driver ay nakamonitor so safe ka doon sana ganyan sa atin.
Use GRAB. If you don't have a phone/app/internet, there's a grab booth in the airport. Ask them to book you a ride.
NEVER use a taxi.
Glad you made a video of this. This happened to me. They charged me five times of what a Grab would cost. Absurd. Then the driver tried to guilt and nag me into a tip. F no.
Never get taxi, always take grab car bro.
Even me I'm a Filipino, taxi scammed me, they tell the price or fare and then while in the taxi and they doubled the fare, they're like a holduper and a robber.
Instead of exiting through the arrivals floor, find the elevator to the departures floor. There you can go outside and get one of the cabs dropping someone off.

What a good idea mate
When getting a taxi white/yellow in Manila, don't ask "How much is going to...." because they can scam you with that, better not to ask question, just go inside and check if the meter is running, if not ask the driver to turn it on unless go find another taxi.
Just be careful so that you will not be scam here in our country, scammers are everywhere, taxi drivers, money changers, etc,
That's true... I went to India, and they are "professional" over there.LOL
Even here in Italy especially when see a old man like us 😂😂 everywhere even "CENTORION"
Sir, the paper or ticket that you got from the window is for you to keep, not to be handed to the taxi driver, it’s for your protection in case the driver cheat you. If you give it to the driver, you have no proof and copy of the plate number. Good thing that driver didn’t cheat you even if you handed it to him. But next time, keep it so the driver won’t dare to cheat you. Another way to protect yourself is to take a picture of the taxi’s plate number ( and if you dare, include the driver’s face), then send it to a friend or family.
I got it...and thanks for telling all people who are watching this
Hey guys, a couple of weeks ago this happened to me. I got into a "regular" taxi, a white one with a meter, but the guy just decided not to turn it on. After about a block, I asked him why he didn't turn on the meter. He then showed me how much it costs to go to Makati, which was 1300 pesos. I told him to pull over, but then he said, "1000?" I got pissed. Why do they feel the need to screw people? It should only cost about 500 - 600.
Not even 600 to makati
@@Fawke85 more like 300 maybe 400.
Wow, seem like research is always good to do before any trip
I know it can be difficult but the golden rule is"AVOID MANILA AIRPORT AT ALL COSTS"
U think any better in Phuket , Samui , Cebu , etc
@@wengelder9256 Yes...Because NAIA has always been in the bottom airports in Asia..Cebu and Clark are alot better if it works for you...
You can get grab taxi also set price before you get in the car. Drivers name colour of car and plate number no scam
All tourist pls. Always takes GRAB never take a TAXI they are CROCODILE
How do you know it’s a grab taxi
@@hercc6155grab is like uber, so you book a ride from the grab app, or at naia terminal exits they have grab booths, attendants on those booths can book a grab ride for you if you don't have a working phone with data. Grab booths are clearly marked as grab booths so you can't make a mistake. You can pay either cash or in app. It's a fixed rate, you pay no more than the app or the attendant tells you
You go downstairs walk out to the end and take the white taxis. You always ask for meter only getting in the taxi. There half the price as the yellow taxi
You’re giving bad advice. You go to the white taxis that use there meters. The yellow taxis are 2x the price as the white taxis.
at your own risk if you're cheap skate!! 😂🤣
@@joserizal6773 what are you talking about? You can pay 200 pesos up to 800 pesos. All are safe which one would you chose dope? I’ve lived here 17 years and been coming here since 2000
I don’t know. My parent just paid 600 pesos to the yellow taxi for a 3 miles distance. I heard it should be around 200, so I am so confused who is scam now
White taxis are often involved in scams . The best option is grab . Never issues .
Great choice. I use the yellow taxis all the time when I get to the airport. They are reliable and the safest. I normally give the driver extra tip for getting me safe to my destination.👏👏👏
Not a good choice. You should get a white one is cheaper
@@jerseyboy1791 the yellow taxis are contracted to the airport, are registered and a safe choice. The white taxis are the ordinary taxis that travel around the metro and may not be safe. The yellow taxis may charge a little bit more and I'm guaranteed to arrive safer at my destination.😀😀😀
@@jerseyboy1791well lots of scammers there . The real way to go is grab
Grab cheaper , better overall .
The philippines is lawless country. don't even think about going outside the metro. holy fuck.
Lawless? In your dreams. Try to commit a crime here and you'll surely end in jail.
Same thing happened in Jakarta Airport.
@@bk2177 gotta be careful even in Tokyo ( Shinjuku) now…. Don’t follow anyone to a restaurant they “work for”
Always use Grab, all the time
been scammed by yellows also....now i just order a grab
That’s true! I was approached if I need a taxi. I asked how much from Terminal 3 to Savoy Hotel. They said 1k pesos. I said no way 1k? Going across the street? They said 500 pesos. I still said no. I went to the yellow metered and it only cost me 200 pesos including tip.
So sad more worst now in Manila but in Clark no problem
Thats in Terminal 2? Yeah they are protecting each other in that area..all the same mafia gangs Syndicate.
Anywhere in world there's Taxi scammer in the US, Europe Asia Middle east, etc
In the philippines, taxi scams are 80%😂😂😂
Not in Seattle. they don't tolerate scammers.
Cabs know they have to have that meter on.
You will not find scammers like that in Davao...
I only met one driver in Manila who was honest, he even told me any taxi that charges more than the meter is doing that illegally and he even told me where to report them, he told me they have to charge what the meter says
Had the scam experience as well, only because you are foreigner they think you are rich and does not matter paying more. I do not buy this over friendly etc. shits. The majority of its ppl. are poor and struggling so they assume they can trick foreigners. I for sure do not need such holiday destinations.
Some sound advice thsnk you
It's all over the world...Damn we gotta be vigilant right!!!!
Last year i stayed in Manila and took the Jeepney to the airport to check on my flight and when i came out a taxi offered to take me back the same route charging me over double what i had just payed. I said no thanks and hopped on another Jeepney right away. Jeepney are so much fun hehe.
This is nothing new with taxi service.
If anyone offers you any service. It's a scam. Any good business doesn't need to seek out their customers.
Dont use taxi in manila. Use only grab where prices are standardize
they got me yesterday for 2500 pesos for a 10min ride to my hotel
Didn't anyone tell you about the taxi scammers in the Philippines? 😢😢😢
Use grab instead
Scam is everywhere even CENTORION in Italy where i am,if they see you old man 😂😂😂....
I am going to Manila in a couple of days. Is there a designated area for GRAB pick-ups?
hi there let me know where is the Grab pick ups if you will find any ... i will travel in 1th March terminal 1
yeh - if your that green - your sure to get scammed the moment you step outside your hotel in Manila...
Where's the over proud netizen? 😂😂😂👏 scam in the philippines are everywhere. Someone here telling foreigner to book for grab that's ridiculous 😂😂.
Grab is cheap actually.
Kasipag
thanks for info
Make sure you always have change ,because a lot of them never have change !
Also always lock the doors front and back ..
Sorry for you. I learned this years ago after an experience like yours. You should send this to the Philippine Tourist Authority.
They know already
Shame on philippines
More fun in the Philippines, the most corruot country in Asia.
My experience
1. Yellow taxis are a lot more expensive ( roughly 3 times ) than white taxis . They are the official airport taxis but …
2. White taxis ( who are the normal taxis driving everywhere ) can use the airport too.
3. Yellow taxis , because of their much higher price , will likely not scam you.
4. White taxis may . An example … I took a white cab who after a few hundred meters said that he car was breaking down . Dropped me off at a gas station, charged nothing ( the bill was about 60 pesos). He then drove off , leaving me by myself with luggage ). Suddenly all kind of white taxis arrived offering non meter high fare , assuming that being stranded id go for it . I refused . Grab instead . Clearly the idea is that several work together to pick up “ stranded “ passengers
5. Still in most cases you would be ok .
6. But ever since I take a grab any time . More expensive than white , cheaper than yellow . Service mostly good .
7. White taxis in non touristic places are generally ok . Some will try the “no change” trick. Fine , I won’t pay . Change will materialize quickly. From where I live in Manila , 90% of my rides are correctly metered and uneventful .
@@wengelder9256 great information on another type of scam. Thanks
Take a tricycle more safer.
@@eddieBoxer LOL, if only....
Calling the DOTr.head Garcia wake up and do your assignment!
I have no idea why the Philippine government will allow these predatory taxis to operate at the airport for many many years now. Sometimes waiting for a metered taxi at Manila can be OVER an hour wait, depending on the time of day, and day of the week you arrive. Use a Grab.
That's there culture
Yellow taxis are slightly more expensive but they don't scam you, the white taxi's always tell the driver to use the meter if he refuses or offers you a price don't take that taxi.
You look like Gweilo 60..Hmmm
If you go to another country to look for scam, you get it.
You don’t need to look in the Philippines
