My first job was a retail job and it was working at CVS getting paid $15 an hour over here in NYC. Then a year later I got hired at Best Buy getting paid $16 an hour. Then Macy’s getting paid $17 an hour a year later. I personally never disrespected or looked down on any retail worker, even before I started working retail.
But I agree with everything that was said in this video! Don’t stay in retail & low income low skilled jobs. If you gotta work there temporarily then do it, but always be looking for ways to excel and level up like Austin said. Retail sucks!!!

That negative conotation on fast food workers only comes from young people. Only young people see working fast food as demeaning. They also see Janitors that way too. Nobody respects a janitor, its all about perception. Its not about actual low economic value, its giving the perception of low economic value. If you're a district manager of a fast food chain, you're making well over 6 figures and still working in the stores from time to time.

Exactly, I feel like this guy made a video trying to shame people. I have the upmost respect for any MAN or WOMAN who's working in the fast food industry. As an ADULT and/or a PARENT, you do what you have to do to survive! Aside from that, some people really are victims of circumstances! It's extremely hard to escape dysfunction and poverty when you're born into it! Everyone doesn't have a support system or a solid foundation to build on like this guy probably did. Also, I think you're absolutely right about how moving out of your hometown is basically the deciding factor in whether or not someone is going to be successful in life, since it shows the ability to take risk and follow opportunities.

That lowkey is so backhanded now that I’m older when a teacher was talking about that. I only like a few teachers from highschool, and that’s it. All of them have their mindset and opinion about which student they think would succeed.

Yup I had a teacher say I was gonna be flipping burgers in the future and retail jobs allowed me to pay for my own education and opened up better doors for me.

Only in low income and middle class neighborhoods AKA for the peasants. The rich will still have chefs, chauffeurs, and maids. Even worse they are the ones investing into this AI so us peasants have no jobs and have robots take them from us.
The rich will have no access to ai because they dont need to. They don't have jobs that require labor work. Its all investing and high earning jobs that they can do at home.

Fast food and retail are the worst first jobs ever.
Finding a waiter/server job that pays minimum wage + tips usually pays as much as an assistant manager role in fast food/retail.
When I worked as a server I was making $12 + tips and that usually came out to ~$18-20/hr on average, and upto 25 on the busiest weeks.
In NYC you can easily make 50k-60k as a waiter if you find a busy restaurant paying minimum wage ($15/hr).
I leveled up since then but I was working an entry level no skill job able to travel once to twice a year thanks to being a server 🙏🏾

I’d rather work as a cleaner than ever work at mac d’s. Not because i have lack of respect for fast food workers. But because I’ve seen too many times the unbelievable lack of respect everybody else gives them. It would just take one condescending tone or insult from a customer across the register before completely crashing out on them.
If you have no choice for a better job… choose the cleaner instead. It’s lowkey perfect for introverts anyways. No people. Just Put your headphones in and clean peacefully.

hes rigtht a seperation happens just after highschool, some folks work fast food or retail others go off to college or a apprenticeship. Those low fats food /retail jobs have very high turn over rates, usually people only last maybe 3-6 months tops, usually only managers are there for multuiple years usually .

Many of the people we look at for inspiration have and still do work as servants regardless of industry and regardless of wealth and rightfully so. Many of the people we draw inspiration from also draw their wealth off the backs of people they “don’t respect” however without those people they wouldn’t have wealth. Andrew teaches you not to be a simp however has you pay 100 per month to teach you how to “pimp” your girl while also running a cam business. Fitx makes fun of individuals who are not making 50K per month while also requiring those same individuals to pay him monthly…to roast them. The point I am making is be careful who you allow to infiltrate your mind for the very same person you seek guidance from could be the same individual who thinks of you as benefit them. Respect is free. You can say you don’t respect everyone but is that something to be proud of?
