This youtube is getting WORN OUT. I've listened to this maybe 20 or more times and never get tired of it. He starts with a cliffs version of the entire tune as the lead in then plays it straight. Beautiful. I get something else every time I listen.

This is great. He keeps that lyricism in there, letting the tune stay dominant

Why does everyone seem to know the "best" version of this and that ..who cares? all the things you are has been performed by a million great artists ..each in their own sweet way ..each interpretation done at the moment...with the emotion at the moment ... there are versions better than others ..we all know this ..so just enjoy the airwaves and cease with the critiques ... it's all good ....

@TheProf08 I fear you have missed the point somewhere. What's great about Jarrett is that he never 'tries to show' anything, he just effortlessly plays. I found his whole performance on this clip riveting, his phrases are so lyrical, elegant and eloquent, not to mention his great time and swing feel. Having said all this, when I first started listening to Jarrett I didn't see what all the fuss was about. Give him a few more listens and I guarantee his brilliance will reveal itself to you.

@mangacharlus That is beautifully said, and I'd like to add another point of view. All true masters show us possibility, not for comparison, but to prove to us that infinity can be reached. Their attainment is a metaphor, lighting the way to our uniqueness which is found within. This video allows me to see the love flowing through them, as I experience the joy of being part of the beautiful, strong, flowing sound I hear.

A beautiful melody spoiled by a piano player trying to show how clever he is......
He doesn't know what SPACE is !! It's just an ego trip and not musical until the final 16 bars. 'Space' in a performance is just as important as the 'Notes'.....
