This youtube is getting WORN OUT. I've listened to this maybe 20 or more times and never get tired of it. He starts with a cliffs version of the entire tune as the lead in then plays it straight. Beautiful. I get something else every time I listen.
Another great legendary master have gone on Jazz planet. His muzik legacy will still remain.
Greetings from Jazz man Kuala Lumpur.
To whom are you referring ? Keith is still alive...
Meaning the late Gary Peacock!
@@Gerard_2024 And Keith doesn't play anymore.
I think 2:52 to 2:59 is among the best jazz lines in history.
This is great. He keeps that lyricism in there, letting the tune stay dominant
One of my all time favs Keith reminds us All the things you aren't...
good job
Amazing...wonderful.thanks for posting.
He's a jazz god
Why does everyone seem to know the "best" version of this and that ..who cares? all the things you are has been performed by a million great artists ..each in their own sweet way ..each interpretation done at the moment...with the emotion at the moment ... there are versions better than others ..we all know this ..so just enjoy the airwaves and cease with the critiques ... it's all good ....
Nope ! This is the best version! ( haha)
@@guymann9567 ha ha perhaps so !
Outstanding🌻🌊🎹
monster,
¡¡Sensacional,¡¡¡¡ jnb
@TheProf08 I fear you have missed the point somewhere. What's great about Jarrett is that he never 'tries to show' anything, he just effortlessly plays. I found his whole performance on this clip riveting, his phrases are so lyrical, elegant and eloquent, not to mention his great time and swing feel. Having said all this, when I first started listening to Jarrett I didn't see what all the fuss was about. Give him a few more listens and I guarantee his brilliance will reveal itself to you.
All the Things You Play......................
Whew!
Thanks ....
daaaaaamn
K.Jarret so long favorite bassist collaboration. Now he has to dig to replace his trio.
if not the greatest close...
i guess when they say the best version they refer to their favorite version..
TAGUEULE!!!!! MAIS TAGUEULE!!!! C'EST TOUS CE QUE CELA M'INSPIRE!!!!!!!
Tg !
@mangacharlus That is beautifully said, and I'd like to add another point of view. All true masters show us possibility, not for comparison, but to prove to us that infinity can be reached. Their attainment is a metaphor, lighting the way to our uniqueness which is found within. This video allows me to see the love flowing through them, as I experience the joy of being part of the beautiful, strong, flowing sound I hear.
...I second your words, it should be one of the articles of the Chart of UA-cam...if only the Gods could spare us to the omnipresent experts for just 5 minutes...take care...and don't "worsen your ulcer" more than I have worsened mine :-)))
@mangacharlus For me, it worked quite well the fireplace... I just needed an hansaw.
yes master...lol
Was that a goblin screech at 0:13???
I have been wondering the same for almost a year!
@mangacharlus Fine. Just give us a head's up, will you?
Keith subtracted a f'ing bar.
i wonder if keith drinks coffee before a gig
3:40
haha ok theyre obviously just phrasing outside the 8 bar trades... it's like this trio's thing...
@TheProf08. I suggest you listen to Keith Jarrett's A Melody At Night With You. This should enlighten you and reveal your ignorance.
everyone to their own taste in music aj, tom, etc....this is ok ,but
im going back to hear bill evans version.
Don't care for the beginning, but I really like the rest. However, I could not listen to this kind of jazz that long. This guy CAN PLAY!!!! I prefer smooth jazz, I guess :) Nevertheless, he IS AMAZING...
jarret blatantly has no idea when he should have come in after the drums solo, he completely cut off the drummer at the end haha
You definitely have no idea what this music is about
A beautiful melody spoiled by a piano player trying to show how clever he is......
He doesn't know what SPACE is !! It's just an ego trip and not musical until the final 16 bars. 'Space' in a performance is just as important as the 'Notes'.....
TheProf08 hahaha your screen name is perfect for this comment.
Pro08 ... shut up ! Go listen to Kenny G and suck on a lollipop ...
