Wow! Excellent video on how to program my new remote for my 2015 GMC YUKON XL DENALI! Easy to follow and perfect execution! Thank you so much! A few years ago I had to go to a lock/key store and pay $175 to have a remote programmed…not this time! Pass this on!
What do I do if I dont get any kind of screen after I turn the key 5 times? Its like my vehicle doesn't recognize that step. Ive tried it with the door open, the door closed, the remote in the pocket, in the cupholder, away from the vehicle. I cant get past step 1
I dropped my old key fob in washer, I got it dryed out, ordered a new one. I tried everything and my screen only says not in programming mode and won’t go any further. What is my solution? I can still start my Yukon with the old key randomly, I just don’t know how long the old key is going to work.
Take the old Key Fob apart, remove the battery, and wash it with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol. After that dry it with cloth and then run a hair dryer on it to make sure it is 100% free of humidity. Now put it back together and it should work fine.
You can try doing it with all doors locked and the alarm armed if it doesn't work, then you can try to do the same with the doors unlocked and the alarm disarmed.
The remote could still be bad because two separate RF Signals are supposed to be emitted by the remote. One is activated when you press the button, the other is the RF ID which is composed of continuous pulses, and that is the part that is not working on your remote. However, the problem could also be in the receiver module in the truck which is very unlikely to go bad.
I'm hoping you can help. I follow this procedure and it works...for a little bit. The programming will take and the fobs will function but after 30 minutes they won't. The vehicle can be started via the console and operate fine. After shutting the vehicle off the fobs work again for 30 minutes and then nothing. What could be going on here?
I am not an expert in Cars, but it sounds to me that the remote might have loose battery terminal that cuts in and out, or the battery is too weak. However it could also be the Remote Receiver module inside the vehicle dashboard.
Can you reprogram a key fob that stopped working this way? I am able to start the car with the key fob in the reprogram spot but it randomly does not lock or unlock anymore. Batteries have been replaced. Thanks in advance!
That is not a programming issue, but the physical push switch has bad contact. You can replace individual switches if you know how to solder surface mount devices. It is not too difficult but it requires a fine point soldering iron.
@@PaulPlayz046. OK I looked at the one on Amazon and based on the seller's note only the dealer can program that, see the screenshot below khalids.com/EBAY/Industrial%20Products/FujiFilm/Pressure%20Indicator%20Film/Prescale%20Ultra%20Super%20Low%20LLLW%20(%203LW)/Screenshot%202023-07-24%2002.59.05.png
@@clearjet On your Chevy key fob, press and hold the “Unlock” and “Lock” buttons simultaneously until you hear the door locks engage and disengage again, indicating that you have successfully programmed your key fob. Re-insert the newly programmed key into the ignition in the “On” position to end the programming sequence.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 Maybe I misspoke. As far as I can tell, the KEY is just a key. The FOB, which for me is separate, is the problem. It still works but has become unreliable. That's the issue.

Glad it helped
Thank you, very helpful and clearly demonstrated. Exactly what I needed.
You are very welcome!
On the new remote does the key need to be cut as well or can you program it as is (blank key)??
You can leave it blank, it has nothing to do with the programming. However if you lose the original key you will not be able to program new remotes.

I cannot get the vehicle to enter programming mode. I turned the key 5x but nothing. 2015 Tahoe LT. Any advice?

what to do? mine has a key not a push button start? 2020 tahoe
I think you need a programmer for that, here is how it is done ua-cam.com/video/nGO-6E0ZK18/v-deo.html
Thank you, I was about to get a key programmed by the dealership.

What about 2015 Suburban without push button keyless starting? Is it like the previous Gen?
Good question, you can upgrade it watch this video ua-cam.com/video/jIO4EddJfBk/v-deo.html
I have a 2016 Keyed Ignition Suburban LT, how will I do that?
Try these steps although the video is for 2010 it might also work on your 2016 ua-cam.com/video/vYybvm-7hr4/v-deo.html

Great job. I believe that should work up to 2019
Thank you and yes I believe so because the 2020 model is different.
Is this for Toyota highlander too . Or only for Gmc vehicles only
Unfortunately this is only for a few specific GMC trucks.
Does your old remote still work. I just want to add a fob
Yes you can add multiple Fobs on the same truck. My old one also works fine
Where did u get the new emergency key cut at?
They have a self service automatic Key-maker at our local Home Depot
What if you have a key ignition?
For that there is a completely different tutorial, but to send you the link I need to know the exact make and model of your vehicle.

Shoot mine isn't a Denali so it doesn't have the push to start

I try it it dint work for me I have a gmc yukon sle
If your vehicle is a 2015 or 2016 it should work unless you missed a step.
Mine isn’t push start it has a key do you know how to do that one
@@rubenserna4646 Oh, OK that is the reason then. This will only work with the Push to Start models. Sorry
Doesn't work for suburban 2015: there was no special pocket for key, no start button
Unfortunately, this only works for the models that have the Start Button.
Thanks ❤

Doesn't work for my 2016 tahoe tried it 5 times step by step and nothing
thanks for your feedback
I attempted this with one working remote and now my working remote only unlocks doors but will not allow me to start yukon
You need to reprogram the working remote while the other one is outside the vehicle.
