    Why is that nearly every time I see/hear one of these demo vids, that the processed signal is always LOUDER? I wish the people doing these vids would pay more attention to gain-matching the processed/bypassed signals. And, I'm not referring only to UAD, either; because other manufacturers and reviewers are just as guilty of this, too. I see (hear) this all the time ... (sigh) ... Please let us hear how this processor sounds WITHOUT the processed version being louder! C'mon now guys, it's not all THAT hard to do!

      Well when its louder the softer parts are louder while the louder parts are softer. If you put down the gain, the softer parts remain soft.

      But...the whole point of a compressor is to tame the peak level and bring up the RMS level, effectively making the signal louder...

      @@karatekraken lol not always theres no right or wrong way to mix or compress as long as it feels and sounds good. stop getting so technical.

    I love you guys at UAD but you need to start gain staging when you A/B any source. SMH

    I think you should turn on Delay Compensation. I can clearly hear the flanging on the kick.

    I liked the presentation. I am UAD user and this really saves me time to learn plugins that I don't know yet.

    the kick sounds like shit with the compression

    • @MrDonnyAir
      @MrDonnyAir 8 років тому +2

      +coffeehigh420 - actually, I think it sounds pretty bad without compression, too. Not the best kick I've ever heard, that's for sure.

    • @L.A.W.Studios
      @L.A.W.Studios 8 років тому +1

      +coffeehigh420 It's because they left the low-end on the overheads and you are hearing a delay..
      If you were to hi-pass the overheads ..OR (correctly I might add) time align the OHs with the kick, it would sound MUCH better..
      *edit* Listening back, I agree with DonAir, that it also sounds like shit WITHOUT the compression, but that shit is enhanced WITH the compression, because it accentuates the OHs.
      Yeah, If there was an example of how NOT to sell a product, this would be a great one...haha!

      The Lindell/Plugin Alliance version is pretty good. The Waves V-Comp is fairly close in terms of the actual compression curves but the tone isn't right.
