    I am using credit card for the past Seventeen years and paying the complete due amount every month. No more amounts carry forwarded to next month. In fact I received points for spending... and from that points... I approximately received more than 25000/- Rs benefits by converting that points into vouchers and gifts. But still I feel we are spending lavishly when buying something through credit card. Be careful while using credit card... because sometimes it ends up with shopaholic.

    Old car is a double edged sword 🗡️, I have met people who have bought old car and spent a lot in repairs finally sold it and got a new one. All the expenses they incurred went down the drain.

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil  3 роки тому +2

      Did they buy an American/European car? Toyota/Honda should hold up well. But even then, there is no guarantee that a person would not end up with a lemon. Old Accords are known for transmission issues too. Still, the chances of Toyota/Honda giving us repair bills are rather slim.

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil

      Same logic applies to that as well. If the profit from that loan is higher than 2 x interest paid for that loan, then it is a good loan. If there is no profit or if profit is less than the interest paid, then it is a bad loan.

      For buying the mutual fund, you can use either groww or kuvera.
      groww.in/
      kuvera.in/
      I have not used either of these. But I am seeing good reviews on both of these.
      After opening the account, you need to buy the following funds.
      groww.in/mutual-funds/motilal-oswal-nasdaq-100-fof-direct-growth
      groww.in/mutual-funds/motilal-oswal-s-p-500-index-fund-direct-growth

    Beginners,those who start to learn about personal finance and stock market in covid times are feeling fear of missing out as stock market are making new all time highs every day. How to approach investing in individual stocks in these times?

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil  3 роки тому +1

      No one can do the market timing consistently right. It is not worth trying. Better to keep investing regardless of how the market is. When we see that market is pushed down because of uncertainties like COVID, we should see that as opportunity and try to increase our investments during time like that. But if we have waited too long for the market to bottom out, we will not get a chance to reenter the market - like we are now. So for now, my advice would be to enter the market little by little every month. Keep investing.

    Thank you for the insights sir, learning alot. Shouldnt the loan, which has the highest interest pending be paid out first. Lets assume there are 2 loans, one home loan was just taken and another home loan was taken 8 years back. now the 1st loan should be paid off first right, as the for the 2nd loan, all the interest has already been taken up by the bank...
    pls let me know your views on this...

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil  Рік тому

      Yes. For debt avalanche method, loan with highest interest should be targeted first, regardless of how old the loan is. See it as, we pay interest on remaining balance. Regardless of whether the balance is big or not, paying off highest interest loan first makes sure that we pay less interest over time.

    Example we have car loan $10000 and monthly installment $1000. Let say we emergency fund and have extra cash of $10000. Should we settle the debt with $10000 or invest the $10000 & continues with monthly installment?

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil  3 роки тому +2

      Would you be able to generate a growth that is double than car loan interest? that is, if the car loan is 3% and if you can generate a return of at least 6% with 10K, then you should invest rather than paying off the loan. If you cannot, then you should repay the loan.
