There is definitely more accompaniment here than the piano and cello. She put her signature magic touch on it.

Toby Gad is a multi Grammy award winning songwriter and producer. He has worked with many of the biggest superstars in the music industry producing award-winning hits. He is currently in process of producing an album of his top eight songs called Piano Diaries. He invited Angelina to perform this song with him at piano, which was originally made famous by Beyoncé in 2008, and has received over 600 million views. Most believe this version is much more touching and emotional, and Angelina has made it hers. Move over Beyoncé! Toby and Angelina are working on some original music coming in the next few months, possibly as an album. He is very influential in the industry and this undoubtedly is a huge break for Angelina.

Technically NOT a cover. Beyoncé wanted to sing Toby's song and it became popular because of her. Now abbout 15 years later Tobys want to reignite his grammy winning songs and chose Angelina for this. He refers to jer as the next world superstar yet to be discovered. Not for long.
@unclecraggy yes difference is that Beyoncé after hearing the song asked Toby if she could sing it. This time Toby asked Angelina. Meanwhile Beyoncé was already an established artist quite known which made it huge.
@@I_scribbles Yes, already a established star made a huge difference in the amount of views she got.. Angelina does not have that luxury, so expectations for this to go viral may be a bit high. Toby will really have to promote it big time. This is his baby, his reputation as a top songwriter/Producer will be on the line. He should get Angelina on the Kelly Clarkson show like he did for Victoria Justice a few years ago.

Oh, this is such a great version. There are 3 performances... one in a club known for discovering singers and songwriters, once at the London Palladium, and here. The acoustics and instrumentation really do set off Angelina's perfect performance here.

Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. Per Toby, they played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. They teased a song at a special event called Bad Valentine and it should be coming out within a few months. This collaboration is awesome! Certainly grabs your attention--always has. Fascinating when she was young to listen to her emulate all the great mostly Jazz singers and as she went from one performance to the next you could hear them start to bleed together and then morph into her unique sound as she got older. It also allows her to give a verbal nod to the original artist of the song she is covering, be it a verse, a line, or just a strong shadow of their voice and style. One thing she is not in her work is boring.
