    I'm dying- we were just there last week and I guess we missed you! I love the new create your own option- the braised beef with mac and cheese was delicious!!! The best part of FQ is that it is usually peaceful and quick to get in and get your food. Even when it's crowded, it's not really crowded. The CMs are awesome!

    We stayed here for a week and the Floatworks was tasty every time. Did not disappoint at all. If you like some spice, try the gumbo. We had the salmon they have like three times. I loved the breakfast totchos as well. Beignets next door are a must. I just loved this resort.

    Sounds like Julie should bring a homemade king cake or authentic king cake for Tuesday fat Tuesday show. Great review I love the French Quarter which is the first Disney Hotel we stayed at as a family. Good memories of a beautiful property

    I visited family there back in October 2022 while I was staying at Kidani, and I absolutely loved the shrimp and grits. I loved them to the point that I went back at the end of my trip for a second portion and found the recipe online to make at home. I could be the exception though lol

    We are planning to be at Port Orleans French Quarter for five days during the first week of March. We live in Mississippi, less than two hours from the REAL French Quarter. I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts on the WDW resort with a Cast Member. It's pretty much the same as the real thing, except I miss the random gunfire, the fights in the streets (steer clear!), the people losing it on the sidewalks (and I don't mean their minds), and the general filth. Other than that, yeah, it's pretty much the same.

    • @frankaderholdt5667
      @frankaderholdt5667 4 місяці тому +3

      I was speaking of course about Bourbon Street. Royal Street, the next street over, is a different world. French Quarter "pros" will know what I mean.

  • @Malvito

    My wife and I late-honeymooned at Port Orleans French Quarter; when we first arrived, settled in, and walked around the grounds, she noted that she would have been happy just to spend a week there, even without park tickets. (Of course, she took that last part back once we were actually in the parks ... ) Where this hotel is concerned, I am more on Craig's side than Ryno's.
    The food we had was different from what you have described in your video. To be fair, though, we didn't eat at the hotel that often; the lion's share of our meals were in the parks.

    Oh you missed out on the red velvet cupcake! I've been looking for a good red velvet cake since my great-grandmother passed away because hers was the best. They nailed it. Needed more frosting (but I"m a frosting junkie) but the cake was perfect- it didn't taste too chocolate and it didn't taste like food dye. If you get a chance to try it, give it a whirl!

    Preach it Hurricane Hannah! Love your review of the Cake! Just cause a bakery drizzles purple, green and yellow/gold on a baked item, does not make it a King Cake. Love the Loki-Gator shirt, Ryno. Always on point with festive flair! Points to Craig getting real close to the standard phrase, "Throw me somethin' Mister!" and I almost snarfed by cafe au lait with the "disappointment" part of his review. :D Y'all had similar experiences to mine years ago; at least there's consistency? Laissez les bons temps rouler, chers!

    My parents were from New Orleans and although my mother was a great cook, I would never eat gumbo when she made it. Still won't eat it any where. However, I love shrimp and grits and the last time I went to Sassagoula, a few years back the shrimp and grits were great. So sorry to hear, the quality has changed. I wonder if the chef has changed 🤷‍♀️

    • @DISUnlimited
      @DISUnlimited  4 місяці тому +2

      I think it's just expectations. If you go in thinking that the Shrimp and Grits you normally have will be in the same style tomato based sauce then its weird when it's one step away from alfredo.

    I'm staying at POFQ in June. I didn't see any of the entrees you ordered on the mobile app or on the menu on the website, but I keep seeing them in video reviews. Is it safe to say that the full menu isn't listed online? Do quick service menus typically change often?

    • @DISUnlimited
      @DISUnlimited  4 місяці тому +1

      You are correct. Half the menu isn’t available through mobile order but it is at the restaurant. Once you order there, you can ask for it to go. The menu shouldn’t change between now and then.

    It looks the same as it was a few years ago. Same King Cake. It was awful and dry. All 5 of us dining there agreed and no one wanted to eat it, so it was pretty much left on table as a throw away.

    They’re cooking for the masses so that’s probably why they tone down the spice. My shrimp and grits was good except way too much salt. Pet peeve. I can add my own salt if I need more.
    I was expecting you to get the special bananas foster beignets they have now. Especially after a disappointing dessert.
