I am just amazed to see how can she not react much on winning such tough matches. Like she's someone who doesn't even have mid match celebration moments like her other contemporaries like Sabalenka. It's endearing to see her calm demeanor on court. She's now a rising threat to other players on the women's tour.
Lol. Kalinskaya is not that a superb player. What i see here is just everybody bringing their A game to the latest Indian Wells Champion.. I know Badosa will be very much easier.
Rybakina just won Indian Wells, made the finals at Australia, she's a Major champion, and is trending toward a top 3 ranking, yet there were only a handfull of people in attendance. Blows my mind.
Her tennis is immensly boring. Plus, she has a lacklustre personality. She also in the meantime lost in the first round of us open. I wouldnt bother going to her matches. There plenty more more exciting players.
Elena managed to win over Kalinskaya who put out a all for nothing performance .Inspite of so many uf errors Elena managed to show her true colors towards the final sets. A true class player with those calm demeanor and pleasant personality is indeed a joy to watch.
This match is an example of what happens when 2 big tournaments are back to back and those that went deep in the first tournament do not have a chance to recuperate and adjust to the 2nd tournament. Arranging things that way makes it hard on the players (and may make them more injury prone too) and not good for fans who want to see everyone start on equal footing. Congrats, anyway, to Elena for overcoming this difficulty in her first match in Miami. Also, Kalinskaya deserves credit for working through whatever her problems were with her stomach. She never gave up and kept coming back.
Correct - this makes "the sunshine double" so difficult. Later on nobody is talking about "first or second" rounds. Tough draw for Elena Rybakina. Even if it should be easier for her without Iga Swiatek.
So what you're saying is you get fantastic, hard-fought matches when there are two big tournaments back-to-back. Excellent, then we need more. Of course, if only players had a choice over which tournaments to play. Oh, wait....
I'm of the opinion when a player reaches a certain level of financial security they should trim back their play to about 8 to 10 events a year. Iga is certainly at that level. Some of the others who have been around a while but not necessarily had the same success should probably do the same. Off the top of my head, players like Petra Martic and Camila Giorgi.

Well tennis is after all a gentlemen’s and ladies game. Players play with grace. Not like some McEnroe cursing and swearing on the court because he lost a point. This is very demoralising towards your opponent who is enjoying the game but you meet a player cussing all the way. Great match for Elena her mental toughness really brought her thru this match such a champion quality of hers, most people would have thrown the towel in after that 4-1 deficit and victory being so close but she put it in the back of her mind then got on with it in the 3 set, incredible mindset proud of her in this match
Лена , поздравляем с победой ! МОЛОДЕЦ ! Лена , никогда недооценивай своего соперника на корте , он играет так , как ты ему позволяешь.. Работай над первой подачей и физической подготовкой..

Rybakina is going to be a world number 1 shortly. Just a stunningly gorgeous overall game she has. A better return of serve and a more potent second serve and she could give Swiatek a run for all her money.
She beat swiantek each of the three times they ve met this season so far. all in two sets. i think her return and second serve are better than anyone's, i think stats confirm that 2... what she needs to improve is her shot selection and net game. Other than that, her game is near to perfect to be on top
@@KanatLS sure. I’m just saying these two will go at it for a while. I don’t even mention net game with the women’s game anymore. No one, including Serena, has had a decent net game in a long time on the women’s side. I think a more potent second serve will really help Rybakina. But yeah, my word what a pretty game she has otherwise. And no tantrums or shenanigans either. Treat to watch.
@@KanatLS Good comment. I agree. Was thinking the thing. If her net game improves (approach angles and touch with her net volleys), she will have a virtually perfect game.
Run for all her money? Swiatek can't even compete on the same court. Whenever they meet, Iga gets the yips and looks totally whipped. There is no rivalry. If Rybakina had her Wimby points, she could be No. 1 already. And if Sabalenka wasn't screaming to the top of her lungs at the AO finals, Rybakina would be No. 1 inspite of Wimby.
Damn! That was a topsy turvy train ride from Rybakina. She certainly looked uncomfortable with Anna’s play. Not one of her best matches for sure. But good to see she still scraped through.
Rybakina is really impeccable. She knows where she will get calm and serene in order to recover the flow of the game. She had a dominance against Kalinskaya but if she doesn't vacillate at some points, I believe that she will ordinarily be one of the most insurmountable tennis competitors in this era.
These are the kind of matches which shows why Rybakina will likely go far in tournaments these year. She wasnt playing her best, had a quite a number of double faults, and let Kalinskaya take 5 games in a row from 4-1 up in the 2nd set to lose it, but she did not collapse or fade away in the third set

She was this close to beating Rybakina, if she'd had an easier draw probably could've made it deep this time around.
