just two more major scenes after this. one where they take him to another spot for the night. and another where one of his captors removed the tape blindfold only to put a cloth blindfold back on. if there's another major tape scene, i couldn't find it (sped through the movie)

pretty crazy scene for a movie. this version's quality isn't great (the one on Netflix is though) and the lighting is pretty bad so it's hard to make out the details. but i don't think that type of tape is very strong. there's some scenes afterwards where he's in a strange, isolated room and he's talking through the gag. i'm pretty sure he sweat it off his mouth. also, it's bizarre that they taped his nose only to remove it later. i think they did that for dramatic effect and to "punish" him in the context of the movie for trying to escape. but this mummification pretty much is just that along with humiliation and more mental torture. someone else noted here that this clip is from another TV movie called Hostages. while that is incorrect, there are some interesting parallels like men being taped up with that brown tape as mummies and transported under trucks.
I think they open holes for his nose later bc he still moving , what’s scared me if i was stuck in this mummified while I’m tied up under it too with ropes or maby straitjacket which make it more impossible to escape
