Converting a 12v Wacol Car Fridge with A Digital Thermostat

Where does the unit gets its temperature from? Have you wired it into the existing temp sensors, or installed a new one?

Hi, does this thermostat replace the controller box or just the thermocouple? How it the fridge light powered? My control box died and I am looking into replacing it with something cheaper than original.
