Haha me you and john drake all happened to make a video about this same technique within the last month or so, i call it a critical step. Drake called it a heal toe but i think your name for it is prob the best out of all three. Such a great technique! Great video !
It depends upon the reason behind the pain. I've known a couple of fencers now who had wrist pain because of a ganglion cyst on the tendon running through the wrist. In that case, you are looking at surgery. If, however, the cause is from carpel tunnel then you are looking at the trifecta of massage, stretching and acupuncture. I had this problem myself pretty severely for a while and tried every other medical attempt at a cure under the sun. Only a capable acupuncturist was able to fix the problem once and for all.
I still participate in SCA tournaments too. In fact, I will be going to Pennsic this August. I just don't do so as much as I used to because building castles is rather time-consuming.
Great work
Insightful as always! Thank you!
Very useful footwork. Thanks!

Thanks for a thorough and detailed lesson on what looks like a useful technique.
You are quite welcome.
Have you done a video showcasing that gorgeous swept hilt of yours?
Heh, no, can't say I've done a video on my rapier. Been with me more than three decades though.
@@RobertChildsRapier Fix that! It's too pretty not to get a closeup!
Do you know how to deal with wrist pain caused by rapier fencing😢

@@RobertChildsRapier Thank you so much for the reply!
LOL, I see those distinctive black-and-yellow SCA marshal staves. Do you still fight in SCA tourneys sometimes, or only HEMA ones?
