Keep in mind. She’s older and she has nodules. She never had the nodules taken out so sometimes, even if she’s really well wested, her nodules will get in the way. Plus, she spent years singing THROUGH her nodules.
She is a legend and she has done her contribution to music and to us, we enjoy her songs no matter what. theyre just beautiful. Imagine the pressure shes had for all this time to sing high notes over and over and overrrr again. for yeaars! Concerts, tours, gigs.. man Im happy this woman can even speak!

Idk what her road is like right now, but the voice itself sounds healthier and more natural than it has in a few years, I think she really just doesn’t have enough faith in her voice bc it doesn’t sound like she isn’t capable of doing more vocally, it sounds like she’s having doubts at the last second and retreating. Im sure the breakup is affecting her and maybe other things, but she doesn’t look happy on that stage. Maybe she needs to take some time for herself. Wishing this wonderful woman the very best.

How are people not able to understand that on top of the nodules, her voice is simply maturing. You can literally tell in the opening of the video that her comfortable speaking range is substantially lower, and exceptionally dark and husky.
She is not stable vocally or mentally, but it is not a bad start for this year, we must be sure that she will improve little by little and that in future performances she will be much more confident.

Probably not sing her songs like she did on record. I always feel like she should have taken a more Whitney approach when it comes to recording. Recording the songs fairly straight. But going all out and doing what you want on stage. But because her material is recorded the way it is its just so hard to replicate live and doesn't leave her much room to improvise and play around with notes

Other scenarios: might lose access to whistle register, might sound too different post-surgery to her original voice despite improved ease in singing, or might permanently damage voice like Julie Andrews. In her position, though, I would consider it, since my voice has already changed, anyway, and my career is made. Continuing to sing with unreliable vocals would just be hurting my legacy and credibility as an artist.

Much better than MC-AG vocals video It is very noticeable that that channel is a hater disguised as a "fan" and he even worsened the audio quality of the videos. In this video you can hear it much better, you can better appreciate the quality of Mariah's voice, it was a little raspy but she tried to sing notes that a few months ago she didn't try, although I still say that her current technique seems very bad to me

Fun fact - after Rainbow Tour she’s lipped every whistle that make the lead vocal of a song. The only exceptions I can think of to that were the Never Too Far performances, the song Caution and the GMA rehearsal of Beautiful. Every other live whistle was either improvised or an adlib (like VOL) rather than being built into the song.
Unfortunately she is lip syncing for 99% of the show. Not in these clips. But there is nothing fantastic here. Even her sad 2014 version was doing better. I hope everything is alright. We no longer have falsetto transitions or belts. Her voice is dry and she seems very afraid to push.
She needs some serious vocal exercises to fine tune her instrument. Mariah has always sang her songs the way an instrument would play it. Vocal rest is good for rest and recovery, but what about the training?
Love Mariah and will always be a fan but as fans, we're scared to admit she struggles to sing even just a sentence in a song without it sounds straned or out of breath. It's not about age cos she's in her mid 50s and that is still young. It's the fact that she needs to rearrange her songs to fit her current sound/voice. Half of the time I think she doesn't even know if the part coming up is pre-recorded. This on top of her being lazy on the stage. Maybe she could stick to acoustic performances.
