House hunting is always fun. Out of these three - I would also choose 3rd house as it had such a homey feel but I’ve never been a fan of cookie cutter neighborhood. Also we know that Travis as well as Warden and other family members can fix it up to your liking as we’ve seen what you guys have done before. Maybe your NJ house could be an AirBnb vs renting it out and then when you go visit you could stay there. Hailey is adorable as always. 😊

One owns a plumbing business. One is a electrician and doesn’t Chad run a contract in business plus you have warden who can literally build anything that way you can basically have a custom-made house. It’s a no brainer really
As someone who lives in a neighborhood like #1 choose a house with more land. We have a bigger lot but you feel like your in a fishbowl with no real privacy! Privacy is really more important than people realize! I lived most of my life on farm/ranches and always thought subdivisions were so nice but as I got older I realized how wrong I was. We are looking now to move back to the country with land and smaller house. God will lead you to your perfect home. ❤

As expensive as apartment living it now days, our kids just bought a house b/c they were paying more in rent than their new mortgage is. I can't believe how expensive apartments are. Our kids decided they would rather be putting their money into something that is building equity than just giving money to someone else. It's a lot bigger than their apartment too. Hope your Mom gets better soon!
Even not seeing the inside of the houses I agree with Travis on the 3rd house..not being so matchy matchy like with the neighborhood of the 1st house..all those houses were so close to each other and they all looked very simular..the 3rd house looked soo cozy and inviting and homey..the neighborhood wasn’t stacked close to each other..if u were to get one that needed a little work,u could have it all done b4 u moved in ..I always bought houses that needed a lil change and did what work i I could..to me it makes it more special..personally the way this world is happening,it’s going to get worse..I’d find land and get out as far out in the country as u can..or a house back in the woods..so u can grow food ect and not b where trouble can go door to door as a close neighborhoods are…God bless…Hope u find your dream home..
Yea PB. Please wear eye protection. Many people get hit in the eye and that ball causes major damage. I did and my eye surgeon gave us a lecture about all the people she sees with ball injuries.
First house is nice, but the neighborhood would be just too closed and feeling crowded, my sister was in a neighborhood like that beautiful new house and she could hear the next-door neighbors kid crying all the time. The guy behind her was always coming in her yard to talk to her, it was just too crowded.she eventually moved further out to the country
If you're thinking it might be your forever house, 1 story is better when you get older. The house I'm in was bought when I was in my 20's & I loved it but now I'm 74 & going up & down stairs is hard.

Travis’ favorite, the Third house, is gorgeous with a more custom home look and I think that would translate to higher resale value. Katie’s favorite, the first house, feels like a track home neighborhood of new builds…like Travis said, cookie cutter and tightly squeezed next to neighbors.
You could choose # 3 and remodel anything you want to while you’re in the apartment a bit longer! You have so much more yard and freedom for the children and Remi in the third one.
I love this one too! I Just put in Knoxville TN on Zillow and I’m shocked on how many houses that area has for sale. Not sure if that’s the town/city they are looking at. I also don’t know the “good” locations of homes for sale but so many more than Southern Maine and affordable ones too.
I will tell you about house #1 being so close to the neighbor. I have a neighbor close like that on the west side of my house. I can hear every move they make while they are outside. I can hear when they come and go. One time, it sounded like they were banging on the side of my house, but they were not. I do not recommend houses so close together. House #3 is beautiful, and the privacy is wonderful. Hailey is so adorable ❤ I hope y'all have a very blessed weekend ❣️

I was exactly the same way and had a very patient husband. My Mom gently let me know and I have been aware since then and TRY to "curb my enthusiasm". 3rd house looked peaceful. 1st house too close to neighbors and street. I like the 3rd house, and the way you explained it. You can use your house in NJ as a vacation home for people, this way you can make it available for you when you visit a certain time and still get a profit for yourself . However you would have to get one of your family members to stock and clean the house for the next person that visits. so not sure if it is a good idea, but one to look into further. House hunting takes about 6 months to a year to find the right one. You cannot get everything you want, you have to compromise. You will know when it is the right one and the right time to get it.

Always look at the front and back yards as it can be costly to fix the grading of your yards to keep water out of the house and garage.
