We have the same strategy Ms. Reynolds, spend what i am able to pay and use it for daily transactions. I even pay as I spend😉. The rewards/benefit is where I have not been gaining. Looking into changing that though.
I believe card is for disciplined individuals. I was watching something the other day and it mentioned that it builds your credit score in Jamaica(didn’t know we actually have those) I don’t think I hear you mentioned that.
I live here in Canada and those credit cards are common and they're some really sophisticated offering but as for me I don't use cc except for emergencies or big investments
Credit cards tend to make us spend on average 7% higher. Let's say we have cash and went to get something which we think will cost $100 and it comes to $107. If we were using cash, we might probably walk away; with credit cards, we tend to say "I'll make the extra $7 before the next due date", or we overspend because we think that it's going to give us more cash back or flight miles. If we really see how much money we spend just to get the miles, we' d understand its not worth it many times.
Totally agree. the money you spend chasing miles points and other rewards is more than a tidy sum. plus the annual fee. If one were to add it all up you would see that buying tickets and whatever other perks outright is much much cheaper than the money it takes to accumulate points and rewards etc
I have the Scotia Aero Rewards card. That's the one I use for my daily transactions. I have 52,000 miles 😁 and it's 20,000 miles to Belize. Hubby has the same card and he has a bunch of miles as well
Any direct flights to Belize K? When one my brothers first traveled there a direct flight was offered by a subsidiary of Air Jamaica .I think it was called Trans Jamaica . The first time my elder brother traveled there he went by a piston engined DC2 or 3 COPA plane via a circuitous route through every conceivable Central American country .
Great video Kalilah! I've recently received my credit card and I didn't know much about billing cycle and statement balance, so you video was great at explaining what those terms meant and I'm now aware of how to better manage my credit card. Thanks much!
So on point Kalilah. Persons would be surprise the great benefits that comes with a credit card if used "RIGHT"
You look nice❤❤❤❤
Don't get one if you know you don't have self control and lack discipline.
We should have a financial intelligence program in our schools it would really help in the long run
Will never happen. Banks profit from financial illiteracy
Lol Kalilah, I think this is another income stream for KRM

Why isn't this compulsory in school? Trying so hard to learn but I'm pretty much clueless.

No I didn't but that would make a good topic
Credit Report. Yes thats a thing. If you manage to have your credit card go to bad debt, it can take 7 years before it comes off the report.
Timely episode! My current card promotional period ends in December. Doubt I'll renew and pay that annual fee which was waived for year 1

In any case (outside of emergencies) you should never pay what you can’t afford but many forget this
Khalilah, which bank do you use that gives you those miles?

Dave Ramsey would rant at the use of credit cards for the cash back rewards. Nice video as usual
I like Dave, but he caters to the middle class, not the rich

Hey miss am looking for guidance in this venture your opinion is greatly appreciated if u have time to hear my questions
Can you pay back as you use the card ,As in multiple times without it been a issue with the bank?
Where can I buy your mask Mrs Reynolds?
Thanks for help on the loans data
Good evening Kalilah I have a Scotia Good card I have over 16500 points how do I redeem them.
Call the number on the back of the card
Does everyone have the same billing cycle?
If not, how do I know my statement date?
It will vary based on your bank. I don't remember if the statement date is on the statement itself, but it should show on your online banking

No direct flights that I know of. There have been a couple of attempts, but it never lasted. The market is too small

Ms Renolds. Is there an option to waive annual fees on credit cards in jamaica if we have a good credit score?
You would have to check with your bank
