Leandro. Great video. You helped to inspire me to build my channel. I love the simple way you present and your interactions with Marius, Keep knocking it out of the park!
Since you clearly like Marius so much, you should consider making a Marius themed Cocktail in the future. With ingredients that remind you of all his favourite qualities, like something bitter to reflect his sass.
That cocktail really tied the room together man. In my top 3 Coen brothers movies for sure. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Cause you need that Dapper Dan Pomade, for a pompadour. And man,Fargo is just awesome to.
Made these exact specs and alcohols tonight for my mother in law and proceeded to quote the big lebowski for about 20 minutes. She said it was the best white Russian she's ever had. Thank you for the brownie points
I made this not long ago from your older video but I don’t remember you adding simple syrup to that one. It’s a beautiful presentation but I preferred to mix it slightly while drinking it. I didn’t hear you mention it in this video but you showed it on the last one...for those who may not have realized that coil is from his hawthorn strainer. Very easy to remove.
my aunt let me try her white russian when I was abuut 12...I know that sounds bad but have been a fan ever since. I am 47 now and serve this every chrismas morning right after coffe.
Made my first white russian. Also my own cold brew coffee liquer, which was huge success. So overall very very good cocktail. It goes down so easy, delicions, littlebit sweet. Very tasty. 45ml vodka 30ml cold brew coffee liquer 5-10ml Amaretto di Saronno 10-15ml simple demerara syrup (my coffe liquer have low sugar) half and half, slighly shaken/slightly foamy Coffee liquer: Plantation OD + Plantation OFTD rum, cinnamon stick, orange rind, cocoa nibs, vanilla. 3 days. Cold brew coffee: ethiopian coffee+espresso coffee, cold water. 24 h. Dont use tap water! Mix 2 liquids together. Add glycose syrup. 2tbs instant coffee
What about a deconstructed Russian Qualude, or is there too much in that to do a deconstructed version? Would love to see your take on it. Awesome channel Leandro! Cheers
Perfect. So is there a flavor difference if instead of Mr. Black, you just used really good cold brew coffee and a 1/2 oz. more Vodka? Subbing with what’s on hand.
here's my twist on a White Russian .50oz coconut rum - 1.5oz dark rum -. 1oz coffee liqueur top with half n half or cream Not sure what to call it White Jamaican ? Beige Bajan ? Coconut Russian ? Anyway give it a try , quite tasty .
To be fair, I don't think it would too surprising that The Dude would drink beer from time to time. I'm just glad the beer chosen wasn't some typical cheap Light beer, the kinds often at sport venues.
The Educated Barfly Kahlua is my go-to right now, but what I like about liqueurs like mr black is the fact that it is not super sweet.. gives you way more control over how sweet you want your cocktail! A future episode about home made coffee liqueurs would be super cool!
All these great cocktails using coffee liqueur, but it's pretty expensive here so I am going to take a shot at making my own. Using the nutrition data from Mr. Black (sweetened cold brew + vodka) I will aim for a 25% ABV and about the same amount of sugar. My first attempt will be using a 2:1 cold brew, but it's possible they go stronger. Of course I'm using a quality coffee, but not one that is too sweet or acidic from Africa (using single origin Brazil Santos beans) Should be able to try it tonight, wish me luck!
Because of 9/11. Watch the check in the opening of the Big Lebowski, and Keanu Reeves dob in The Matrix a year later. The directors knew what would happen on that day. And on the check, replace the 0 underneath the 9, and you got Sept 11 01, not 91.
That's actually the way I teach mine! The only variation I suggest is using a blender ball rather than a coil to whip the cream. Saves you from having to untangle the coil👍
Dude, I could have sworn that I watched a video of a coffee liqueur, rhum agricole, lemon juice cocktail on your channel just a few hours ago. What happened to that? Or did I dream... or am I too drunk already o.O
I have Bols 100% Malt Genever and some Ransom Old Tom gin and some G.E. Massenez Poire Williams I don’t really keep vodka around the house, and I have Cafe Borghetti instead of Mr Black - would any of these work for this cocktail?
Yeah the borghetti would be totally fine I think the genever would make a really interesting cocktail especially some older ones and the Ransom I think would work well too
Ok so since we have been quarantined, I’ve just invented this gorgeous, delicious tiki drink that I would like for you to try and make a viewers video on if you like the drink (I guarantee you will) Where can I privately write you an email with the specs? Thanks Leandro.
I love White Russians!!!! Is the squeeze bottle and coil something you created to slightly thicken the cream or is this purchased somewhere? I wish you and yours well. You too Marius.
My favourite thing about the White Russian, is drinking it. The flavour, the way it goes down. This... I mean it's strikingly pretty... Congratulations... but it's not a White Russian to me.
Marius is such a trained troll, he doesn't even have to open his mouth to work his magic!
"That's just like, your opinion, man"
I'm surprised that no one else has said it...
"The Dude abides."
Leandro. Great video. You helped to inspire me to build my channel. I love the simple way you present and your interactions with Marius, Keep knocking it out of the park!
Thanks bud!
Cool channel you got there! Subscribed!
Not a bad way to use that creamer I have in the fridge. Like that layer technique
This guy is SOOOOO MUCH BETTER when he smiles! Good bar technique in this video.
Try adding just like a barspoon of whisky to the cream before you whip it some time. The smokiness from like a peated scotch is lovely
Since you clearly like Marius so much, you should consider making a Marius themed Cocktail in the future. With ingredients that remind you of all his favourite qualities, like something bitter to reflect his sass.
LOL not a bad idea the cocktail could be named something like the arrogant Norwegian or something LOL
I saw that reply Leandro...
Looks pretty tasty. I'm definitely pouring myself one of these.
2 videos in one day!
It"s the first time in my life Christmas is 2 days before Easter!
Have a great weekend and keep the spirits high!
A lot of people already do a barcream float on top of their espressotinis... This doesn't seem too far from that.
Nice simple cocktail. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and cheers!
That cocktail really tied the room together man. In my top 3 Coen brothers movies for sure. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Cause you need that Dapper Dan Pomade, for a pompadour. And man,Fargo is just awesome to.
O, Brother...such a good movie
Gotta do a dapper dan cocktail for sure! Maybe corn whiskey based
I actually just don’t get coen brother movies
I’ve added a sprinkle of nutmeg on top during Christmas season and it tasty pretty good!
Great idea!
love your videos
Just got Kahlua, and you made my day even better!
Just yesterday I looked up white Russian on youtube and realized you don't have a video on it, and here it is!
Made these exact specs and alcohols tonight for my mother in law and proceeded to quote the big lebowski for about 20 minutes. She said it was the best white Russian she's ever had. Thank you for the brownie points
nice
I love that coil trick, I've been wanting to layer my White Russians for a while
I used to do the coil, but I hated untangling it. Try a blender ball instead. Works wonders!
This comes at just the right time.
Ashakari Singh It’s always the right time for a White Russian 😝
I think my favorite part is Leandro's penguin stumble at the beginning of every video 😂

yes, stirring before drinking it is totally fine :)
I use a similar technique for cream using a blender bottle
Have you seen Nick's (cocktail chemistry) take on the white Russian? He does 3 versions and the last one is his special homemade version
we'll take a look. We like Nick.
my aunt let me try her white russian when I was abuut 12...I know that sounds bad but have been a fan ever since. I am 47 now and serve this every chrismas morning right after coffe.
Very nice and simple thanks
Leandro, Instead of the simple, add a quarter ounce Disaronno. Marius - way to go!
Dude. Why ruin a perfectly fine Black Russian with cream? :P
(I know.. Matter of taste :) )
They are both so good
amazingly entertaining. Now I just need to make one.
Loved the close up shot of the bee on the stirring spoon
:) Its a fly actually, and you can buy that spoon from Barfly Mixology Gear

Searched an hour ago for white russian and had no idea this was a new video until after making the drink 😅
Have you ever shaken the whole drink? I think that is the most delicious way to make it, even though it is technically not a white russian anymore.
jaczekdertuerke in Germany it's called a Dosenoeffner, means legopener.
@@eirikraude5629 that sounds pretty vulgar.
What about a deconstructed Russian Qualude, or is there too much in that to do a deconstructed version? Would love to see your take on it. Awesome channel Leandro! Cheers
I like to use the Van Gogh espresso vodka. It is really a huge game changer!
Would you leave out the syrup when using a sweeter coffee liqueur like Kahluha?
Yeah I’d taste it and adjust sweetness for sure
Yeah, the traditional recipe is just vodka, Kahlua, and cream. With the Kahlua providing plenty of sweetness.
Well that’s like your option man. Great beverage!
Perfect. So is there a flavor difference if instead of Mr. Black, you just used really good cold brew coffee and a 1/2 oz. more Vodka? Subbing with what’s on hand.
Yeah you could definitely sub in good cold brew and a touch more vodka. I like that idea!
You would probably want to up the simple syrup a touch as well.
I personally put a little bit of Bailey's into the cream, it gives a little sweetness as well as staying pretty balanced
That's a great tip! I put simple syrup in mine; I'd skip that step now if I was following this recipe
I like the history. I like knowing random things.
blackmagick77 I have approximate knowledge of many things
I’m going to use your cream technique for Irish coffees
yes, its great for that. we do that with our Irish coffee
so coooool lovely! -where/how does one get the coil thingy to put in the squeeze bottle, please.
It's from the hawthorne strainer :)
@@TheEducatedBarfly OF COURSE Ha! Thanks Cheers Leandro.

Am I nuts or has he done this before without simple? Redoing some videos?
This one deserved a redo. But yeah there’s an older version. I’m redoing some of the old videos but you can find the old ones in playlists still
I can't get mr black where im from.. every time I hear you praising it I die a little inside :(
There’s a bunch of other great coffee liqueurs you can use though...tia maria,
At George (if you can get it) and evening khalua if that’s what you got

if you swap out the simple syrup with Creme de Cacao by Tempus Pugit, it will taste even better ...........
Am I imagining something or was there a different video posted before? Easy swizzle something?
You’re imagining things 😉
The Dude Imbibes. but really the line of the show "Do you need to cuss so much?"

I love my coffee drinks!
This milk mustache worry is a reason to just make it the normal way, I think.

If I use a sweeter version of coffee liqueur such as Tia Maria, should I skip the simple syrup?
Yeah you’ll have to either use none or less depending on sweetness
@@TheEducatedBarfly yeah, like thanx man
first one is a black hipster(mr black) russian with a white twist
I make mine with Bourbon,is that called something else?
Getting some serious deja vu. I thought you already had a white russian using Mr. Black and using cream. Hmm.
The old video needed a serious redo
Instead of putting the simple in the cocktail, could you put it in the cream? Or is the quarter-ounce too much?
I was thinking about whipping the cream with the simple syrup. Is there a stronger preference to keep the sweetness mixed in with the booze?
That's actually the way I teach mine! The only variation I suggest is using a blender ball rather than a coil to whip the cream. Saves you from having to untangle the coil👍
“Careful, man, there’s a beverage here”
Would Galliano Ristretto work well with the reconstructed version even though it's a espresso liqueur?
Why yes it would!
BRUSQUE SANTA CATARINA BRASIL

In the video you use 1oz. Coffee liquor, but you listed 0,75oz. in the show notes. What's correct?
Mistake. Corrected....
Deconstructed?? What does that mean?
I've been subbing an Anejo style rum for the vodka and it's a much better drink. Yes with Mr. Black as well and the SS. I call it the White Cubano.
Maybe Cubano Blanco?
@@TheEducatedBarfly It's now official! "The Cubano Blanco". Thanks!

Not something I created but something I learned and yeah it’s to slightly thicken the cream so it sits on top
The coil is great, but after doing it I recommend getting a blender ball. Saves you the hassle of untangling the coil
Is there a different name for if you use tequila instead of vodka?
You gotta mix that shit! This isn't 'Nam, there are rules!
I can't read all of the comments, but doesn't the Big L mix his cream into his drink..? He seemed a little shy of being showy... Ha!
"Stiry poo..." ?
I like to add a bit of a amaro into my White Russian. Gives it a nice zing.
Yes! But which Amaro?
The Educated Barfly - Nardini is probably my fave, Cio Ciaro is nice. I make my own as well, but none of them seem to work in a White Russian
