Great and very useful for begginers. Only, usualy people who are doing this mistakes are working destructively and cannot undo their doing. Great that you showed non-destrucive ways! Good job!
Thanks for the tips. I definitely learned from all three suggestions. While i have approached these in different ways i always love learning new ways to accomplish similar tasks.
Colin, I tried to use the enhance feature BUT it did not work as my Mac said I had "unsupported software" and that enhance requires a graphics card with Metal support. However, I went to about my Mac and it said under hardware/graphics/displays the metal family is supported, metal GPUFamily macOS.1. Great video but any ideas why the enhance does not work on my Mac but yet it seems like it should?
Didn't know about the pixel trimming.... Funny I always convert to the same resolution and profile before I combine images. the images aren't low res to begin with but I make sure the match so if my main image is 2000 dpi I make sure the image I'm dragging in is the same.
Liked the one about unsharp mask. Already familiar with using vibrance vs. saturation. Not sure I will use the other one as I do not generally do much composite work.
A slightly different question, when in camera raw if I try to enhance I get the message Enhance requires a graphics card that has metal support, but when in lightroom I do not get that message and enhance works. I am using a 2021 Macbook Pro M1 laptop so is it really an issue that my Mac does not have the correct graphics card?
When it comes to colours I prefer adjusting via the calibration tools in camera raw or via lightroom classic, also the hsl/colour tools is a great for getting more specific colours in your photos!
A Smart Object, doesn't prevent a smaller image from pixelating when you scale it up too much. But it does allow you to scale multiple times (lossless scaling) without lowering the quality, and you can revert any time.

Full disclosure--I've made ALL of them lol! I never knew about the trim option--I've been using the crop tool all this time! Another great video.
Me too!
thumbs up

Glad it helped
Over saturation always really annoys me. So often I see overdone fake composites in my Facebook that people ooh aw over and think are real.
yup
Hi, I'm Yvonne, and am a 'guilty of all-aholic'! Next step, please?! Thank you, Colin :-)
never saw or used the "enhance" function in Camera Raw. Thanks for pointing me to this. Will compare it to my Topaz results.
I didn’t realize there was a function for trimming transparent pixels. I’ll be using that now!
It's useful
Me too! Been doing that manually for decades.

Guilty as charged... but not anymore. I went to the Cafe!
HOW DOES SUPER ENHANCE COMPARE TO IMAGE RESIZE WITH PRESERVE DETAILS 2.0?
Very Helpful but talking slowly its my request tnx
Never tried enhancing resolution in LR before. Great tip.
Great tips Colin! Guilty as charged but no more!
Thanx Colin, the unsharp mask- Darken and Trim are new to me.

Listen to what I say at 0:55

New and thank you.

Yes, ---new ways to correct for me. Yes, I have been guilty of oversharpening. Love the way you showed to composite blend. 👋
All new for me. Great stuff

The trim trick is a life saver.

Ditto! Thanks!
Typical beginner mistakes, but great tips on how to handle or prevent them.

Hmm that is odd. If you have GPU turned on in the preferences in Photoshop, I'm not sure why this is happening to you.
Thank you very much for the teaching.

Great tips! I'm probably most guilty of over sharpening and getting the white halo around the edges. Great to know how to fix that!
Yes the sharpen sizzle :)
When creating a composite I always convert images to smart objects before resizing.
Definitely a good idea
you'll also want to convert the layer you're going to resize into a smart object first so that PS doesn't pixelate it while resizing.

Thanks , very good tips especially for sharpening.
thx
All new and thank you!

Great tips!!
