New PB Yellow Fin while Albacore fishing Fort Bragg!!!

Hey everyone thank you for watching another one of my videos. We went back up to fort Bragg for another try at the albacore and had heard about people catching big eye. we ran out in the dark there was no line like last time and ended up out on the grounds 2 hours before day brake. when it was light enough to start fishing it didn't take long and we found the fish. We had double and triple headers not big fish but nice fun fish. It didn't take to long and we hooked into something bigger and I broke it off on 40 lbs. I will not be fishing 40 anymore for albacore I'm going to use 60lbs now. After loosing that fish I talked to bill and decided to try the big rod with a halco and I put it out the center 400 feet and it took 20 minutes and it went off I grabbed it and bill grabbed the other rod that went off to than the battle was on and I made short work of it putting it in the boat in less than 15 minutes and we where surprised to see a yellow fin hit the deck. It's my new PB Yellow Fin at 63.5 inches and 125 lbs after gilled nd gutted. We went back to trolling and only picked up one more albacore for the day and talk on the radio was the bite died do to the south wind. So after 3 hours no bites we called it a day and headed in. I added more ice when I moved it to the bow of the boat. It was still covered with ice and ice cold when we got home. I will keep it in mind thank you!

No there’s no bait pens.
@@Bfishin dang so no live bait fishery outta there unless u catch ur own eh? Albacore fishing with live bait is about as fun as it gets
@@208flatheads3 that’s what I’ve heard, I’ve never had a chance to but I’ve tuna fished San Diego for years, but no albacore I would like to try it. They have live bait in Portland.
@@Bfishin Portland Oregon? No Oregon can't legally sell live bait but some of the boats from the northern coast ports will haul tanks of anchovies down from illwaco Washington for their charter trips. Westport and illwaco are our only 2 ports on the Washington/Oregon coast that sells em.
@@208flatheads3 ok I didn’t know that all I know is I looked at taking a trip out of Portland and they said they Had tank full of plenty of like bait. Live bait is key
