Got too excited about the gym badges that I almost made the comparison of that aspect returning from Gen 2/HGSS when they only had 16 badges. You get the point!
I like how you can walk past trainers without battling them. But I would prefer if some trainers still forced you to battle. Maybe all of the evil team grunts still force you to battle as well as your rivals. And then maybe the odd route trainer, maybe 1/10 still force a battle to catch you off guard.
Yeah definitely an interesting new concept that’s being introduced. I wonder how it will go!

Agreed. Believe it or not platinum was the first Pokémon I ever owned for myself. I played it several times before that but never owned one till platinum. I will say I don’t think I’ll like this one as much as I did platinum but I’m still super excited for it 😀😃😀

Sword and Shield never were good, the DLC was just mediocre.
@@BigNation1 thr dlc was very very disappointing. The game as a whole was, I honestly haven't even played it over a year. Every other pokemom game I've logged 40p us hours, sw sh I beat it and there was nothing else. Dynamax was lame. Raid dens are lame. Not much else to do lol
@@trstn8882 same usually I play for atleast 50 hours but with swsh I only played for 10 hours or something then the dlc I just beat it I didn’t even catch the bird trio 😂 I was just so done with the game

@@watari6346 Not sure but a good possibility, early preview footage that was shown by sources that played it early didn't exactly indicate how or where you will collect them all from.

I'm not sure why you would have an issue with giving players more options on how to play the game. I think optional trainer battles are great addition. JRPG's have had this around for years, where you can see any non story related encounter and chose when and how many you want to fight. More options are always a good thing, shouldn't matter how anyone else chooses to play the game.
I was going to say the same thing. I have never had a Pokémon battle where I thought OMG I need to have that. That was the main argument I heard like that meant something.
Never said I had an issue with it. Not sure where this is coming from.

@@apuff11 That’s not a complaint. I’m explaining a flaw in the concept. I later stated that I don’t mind the optional fights at all since I already go out my way to battle npc anyways. Again, not sure where your coming from with this other than stating a very generic point.
@@BigNation1 when you say you don’t know why some of the changes made needed to exist , and then go on to list optional trainer battles kinda sounds like a complaint no??? It exist because it gives player the more options to play the game how they want which fits the open world game they are trying to create. Trainer battles makes sense in the older tittles because they were super linear . Like you said you gonna do them anyway I don’t see why a feature that gives players more options shouldn’t exist.

I'm just personally 100% opposed to the pace at which the company is pushing out the games. Imagine how much better, coherent and stable these games could be if they didn't spread their ressources thin between two major releases in one year, but instead dedicated the development budget and workforce of Legends Arceus to S/V as well. Personally just not a fan.

IMO I don't really see the problem with optional trainer battles. Most of the previous games let you sneak past trainers, and with the new movement options I can't see how they could make you do them.

There will be DLC, you don't need to look at leaks to know that at this point, its hard to even call it a prediction I just know they'll do it and no I haven't seen anything saying there will be.
I just hope it’s not easy like the recent Pokémon games. Arceus was hard and I missed that type of difficulty in Pokémon games.

“a bit of information” like how someone started leaking the entire game bit by bit every day in july. that was a MASSIVE point of controversy and content for the leak community while i was briefly in it
I've seen the Leaks and I'm actually excited. Unlike I was for SwSh.
I hope we get some more info on version exclusive forms of older Pokémon, cause if Scarlet has some historic forms, while Violet has futuristic forms. Then I might get Scarlet, even though Koraidon looks dumb running when compared to Miraidon being a future Motorbike.
May or may not get this game for Christmas... it'll be my first pokemon game despite being a longtime fan of the series lmao

The only negative aspect of this game for me, its having payed DLC's when i know for a fact its cutted content from the main game to make extra 30$ bucks, but now we cant do nothing, since alot of idiots (some ytubers) defended that practice, so when you buying Pokemon save 30$ more cause you might need for the future content, if i recall if you buy now the game it comes with future DLC but we dont know what exactly its the dlc could be a tiny questline story and then after 3-4 months after release we get the payed Dlc's, that is practicly the only negative thing i can see, so fart this game looks good, dispite some problems being reported like laggy menus etc.
I'm rushing to buy a second hand switch and get the midnight release this Fri !

As long as they keep the quality of lifes of Sword and Shield, keep some of the good bits from Legends and the story doesn't get butchered as hard as the base story of Sword and Shield, I'll be very happy.
So far it's got persistent overworld pokemon like in Legends and it's looking promising. I'm just hoping the three routes are not super shallow and the hope it can actually live up to what it's promising. 💀
(not a spoiler) a leaker said that he/ others 'cried/ teared up' playing the story so i guess that means its good

Is the inclusion of 18 badges a way for the game to lower the level difference between seperate gyms to allow for players to challenge the gyms in a randomised order now that we know the gym pokemon levels won't be scaled? Do you need all 18 badges too challenge the paldean league? Or will there be some gyms that will be levelled beyond the league to pose as endgame challenges? I'm excited to explore this for the first time in a long time regarding pokemon!!!

I won’t spoil anything but I will say that scarlet has way better exclusive Pokémon. Violet only has about one good Pokémon going for it are one future Pokémon and the box legendary.

I'm stoked, but the lack of trailers and good information really kills it for me.

The game's performance is atrocious, and the camera clips through the ground when battling on hills. I hope the day 1 patch fixes most of this, because man, it's rough
Then you've got people like me, who once they see a Pokemon on another trainers team, that pokemon is essentially blacklisted from being on my team unless I have it already. Not sure why to be honest. Just get this weird feeling of failure whenever I catch a blacklisted pokemon. Made Legends very boring because almost every new pokemon ended up blacklisted.
Why not just look past that and catch the new pokemon?

how is the generational gimmic becoming central to the gen's metagame a bad thing? That's LITERALLY what its FOR. Just like Megas were central to its gen and Z-moves were a big part of its gen...Of COURSE this gimmick is going to be central and dominating...Its the only other gimmick.

Confirmed info from outlet sources that got to play the game early.
It was confirmed that Mela gave a badge to the player after defeating the team star base, so i dont think there is 18 gyms, but the sum of badges given by gyms, star bases, and titans equals 18.

My cautious hype died with the leaks. This series deserves better and more development time, and designs, and voice acting, and less gimmicks,
How what did the leaks say?(so far the leaks are positive for what I’ve seen, except for frame rate issues)
@@Honeybaggsss The start of the game gave me some Sun and Moon vibes. Not necessarily bad, but the constant dialogue and slow start. Just seeing an hour and a half of the playthrough, I realized the novelty of the new mechanics wouldn't be enough to ignore the shoddy presentation.
The Pokémon designs also are some of the worst I've seen, especially the Legendaries and starters. I'm usually pretty lenient on letting designs slide, but some of these are way over-designed and abstract for my taste.
