Not to mention the casual normalisation of "friends of the government" enriching themselves to the tune of millions by picking the pockets of struggling, overworked taxpayers while the services we pay fore are cut through the bone!
I'm Irish. The fact that a news presenter can't automatically understand that someone living in the capital city will naturally have higher living expenses (i.e. essential needs such as accommodation) is astonishing. Rural or smaller cities will normally have proportionally lower living costs and also normally relatively fewer services available.

if inflation is caused by pay rises, than inflation has been caused by increasingly better off fat cats, because low paid haven't had a pay rise in a decade.....

We tax payers paid for the Covid 'Bounce Back' loans that went to bogus companies who cashed in on an unregulated free handout. All the above is written off by the government and is significantly more money than pay rises that bring workers up to the cost of living.
We tax payers subsidise the huge profits that the rail companies make, enriching the share holders but denying workers a decent pay rise.

Message to independent pay review board.... The tories wrote off, without even trying, over £10BN due to dodgy and corrupt PPE contracts, therefore they deserve NO pay rise at all.

Government must be flapping! We must stick together.
Well said Matt 👏 👌 👍 🙌
The grotesque housing market has left millions of people paying over the odds for a roof over their heads. With the property market regulated and capped, people would buy property to live in, not exploit the poor. The biggest expense for anyone is their home, there would be no cost of living crisis if property was costing what it should.
Matt Wrack is not wrong, all Public Sectors have been having to do more with less for at least 15 years. Central government has forced public services to tighten their belts year, on year, and I have never understood why it is so difficult for those who do the most imporant jobs, fire fighters, Nurses, etc are expected to get paid low wages. Public sectors reply on the good nature of their workforce to keep working hard whilst not increasing their wages - and if they were as greedy and selfish as they are being made out to be, they would be on strike every year. They are not greedy, they have finally been pushed to far - enough is enough!
Sky news telling bull, being called out on it and then ignoring the question
Over 30 years I worked for 4 different fire authorities. London was one where I worked in the Central area. Since then, off the 10 stations in my area 3 were closed by Boris Johnson, and the other 7 had the number of crews reduced. The public lost the availability of 8 fully trained crews from the closed stations and a further 11 crews from the remaining stations, a total of more than 20 crews from a very busy part of London. And, as far as I am aware, a similar situation occurred in the other parts of the London Fire Brigade. In a County Brigade crews have been drastically reduced by a Conservative Council. None of this was aimed at improving response times and improving the service to the public, just to save money. I am not surprised that the FBU is asking members to consider strike action, as sensible negotiations appear to be a thing of the past.
Get this man his crown 👑
Clap from me for the union rep. Well done. Wouldn't it be nice if the mainstream media weren't just Tory mouthpieces. I'm also fed up of this general public will get frustrated. Im general public...i support the strikers
How many more industries have to do this before people are treated fairly, when one walks out you might say it's only about that particular industry, the fact that it is everyone tells it's own story
6 figure wage pen pusher knows more than a real worker its laughable
Average salary in London is £42,000 for reference
The fact they keep asking the question of whether health or emergency service should go on strike should be a reflection of their worth.
Sadly there are dim people out there who will be believe that "All" Firefighters are on £39+K a year (london wage) and compare this to the average UK wage and Not the London Average. Its like the Train strikes they (Gov/Media) always mention Train drivers Wages, but not Guards, Porters, Ticket office, Platform cleaners wages, or those that are paid lowest
Then maybe the unions should fight more for the pay of those low paid workers rather than protecting the jobs of their over paid drivers by hindering modernisation.
Fair play to Matt for calling out a journalist presenting bare-faced lies! 🚒💪
sky journalism at its best eh ?
Matt Wrack you're fantastic.
Monarchy and there gov need to be taken out it's a disgrace the state of this country.
I wish someone would ask the person asking the questions how much they are paid, they want tell you, but you can be sure it's more than a firefighter or a nurse, train worker, teacher.
As a NHS worker I fully support the firefighters industrial action! The mainstream media ( non tin foil hat wearer ) are showing there true colours in these interviews!
I wear tinfoil but also support the strikes and am enjoying the MSM make fools of themselves! Tinfoil undies are not comfy but needs must!
