Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 лют 2025
- We returned to Costa Rica last year (June 2019) after being away for a year! Our first stop was at "The Ark" Herb Farm and Botanical Gardens. Owner and Founder, Tommy Thomas gave us a tour of this amazing and beautiful site. The Ark is Costa Rica's largest botanical garden and their mission is to create a space of reflection open to all people and to promote the education, conservation correct use of plants. This is Part 2 from our last video here at "The Ark" and in this video we venture off into a lush bamboo jungle and see even more rare and unique plant collections that all have a wide array of edible and medicinal uses.

He’s such a happy man! I suspect it’s the fact that he’s surrounded by nature. Again, great video. 🌱
100% there's nothing like the jungle
His accent tells me that he is from N. Carolina...maybe Alabama or Northern Florida.
Waiting for Part 3, 4, & 5 of this video 😆 So fun to watch, reminds me of my childhood.
🤣
We’re on this earth such a short time. But if you can live your life so happily, surrounding with plants and wonders of nature , that’s quite rewarding. 👍
I lived in orotina for a while. Costa Rica is by far one of the most beautiful places on earth. Make sure you hit Los Sueños
I hope to find my small piece of paradise one day 🙏
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL I think you’ve got it right now lol. I’m in tampa and would die for your setup.
Love to see the happiness in his eyes ! Can I move there? Now!
It’s beautiful..
Tom is quite special! Plenty of room in CR 😉
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL did he still open this year?
WOW is all I can think to say of this video! I watched this first thing this morning with a cup of coffee and it just inspired me forever!
I would stay in that tree house -forget the hotel. We tend to forget the sheer variety of plants -many yet to be discovered -that are native to the tropics and can thrive there. That place is beautiful!
I'm loving this video Fellas ! My passion ! I'm old school like Tommy ! South Merritt enjoys many of the same fruit you are growing there like Guava , pineapple , sapodilla, Sapote, Mango, Avacado Papaya , longan, barbados cherry , Surinam cherry , many bananas varieties , many citrus . Pomegranate , lychee , loquat , cocoanut , tamarind , attimoya , passion fruit, several others !
Thanks Guys ! Tommy, Pete ! Stay Safe and we'll .
Hey Harry! Did we meet at Toppy’s place?
This video is going to be my new "happy place video." Will watch it whenever I need a moment of peace or inspiration.
WOW, no words, I'm on serious overload...and one of the reasons I moved to the tropics of Florida...so much to learn and eat...and that bamboo...oi vey...!
Incredible place. That bamboo hug @7:01 is just amazing. Thanks Pete.
Pete please go back and do another video. Loved part 1, then part 2 kills it!! Such a beautiful place to visit. I love all your Costa Rica tours, keep them coming!! Thanks 😊 🙏
I'm just waiting for them to allow travel from Florida again.

@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL I daresay you enjoyed it more actually being there! Love your channel, Pete!
I have gotten curious as to your own philosophy in regards to permaculture, working with nature, biomimicry and all that... and how something like this project fits into that overall desire to live healthy, regenerative lives with this gorgeous planet? I laughed out loud watching one video where you allude to the permaculture police! Thanks for all the great work you do, all the great vids. Keep growin on dude!
Truly an awe-inspiring place! Thank you for sharing it with us.
I am in love with this medicinal garden. I definitely need to grow medicinals too.

That bamboo is YUUUGE!
Tom I love your farm you help confirm my contention that the earth can heal. I have a small fruit farm here in Thailand you make wish I did this 30yrs ago for you out there I say do this before age 70 but if you are 70 I still recommend it.
What a beautiful place! Would love to visit. Thanks for sharing!
Great video. I've always wanted to go to Costa Rica and See Kaypacha Astrology week long class. Now I have another reason to go to Costa Rica.

OMG, all these disidious plants and varied species, medicinal & health enhancing & @$$holes out there are killing them off for monoculture crops for a quick buck. These trips are priceless, Pete! Thanks loads.
Wow!!! Amazing! That's what I have been dreaming of when I retire from work. Thank you very much for posting. Maybe someday I gonna come and visit this place. Take care and be blessed.

Amazing video. Funny I thought at 23:30 that my Chillhop youtube video automatically started in another tab but realized the video got that much better. Good people, good plants, AND good music :)

Wow what a great property 👊👊
Yeah man!
Omg! That place is AMAZING!!!!
I also have to get a piece of land in Costa Rica. Looks amazing!
29:00 here in philippines, thats "ube" and not a bean... its like sweet potato, a root crop.
That Stick Like Seed Pod they are tasting at 11 minutes in is called "Tinkin Foot" in my country. It smells really bad like someone with Athletes foot. Another great video Pete.
Pete - you just keep putting out amazing content - this tour was truly epic!
(in the midst of all the joy in this video, I felt a tug of sadness when I heard that Tommy's resort was slated to open around Feb 2020 ... )
Thanks you! The whole corona thing has set back opening. Hopefully they open soon 🙏
every vid you drop from costa rica is nuts. \o/
Awesome and so educational
Such a stunning botanical garden. Great video. What is the botanical name of that beautiful unusual Bell Pepper? I would love to grow that. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed! I’m not sure.
Wow looks amazing!
Thanks 😊
Wow, amazing!
This place is so awesome 🙌🏼
Next level bro!
Jergon sacha from the Amazon is an amazing medicinal plant... Even its looks are amazing
Great content.... thanks for sharing bro....
Great video
That plant in 28:44, that is a type of Yam, air yam to be exact, we call it Ube in Philippines. The common variety is the purple yam, but there is a wild white yam that is very rare and way tasty than the purple one.
You should go to my cousin's place in Australia, called the Botanical Ark.
Paradise 😍😍😍
He sho wu or Fo-ti is one of the yin herbs the root is mixed with a special bean to make a alixir tea. All for longevity.
Nice one thanks
Gorgeous!
Beautiful!!!!
Hey mae pura vida!!! I love all your videos!
Thanks 😊
14:45 curry leaves from india... love this farm from india...🥰
awesome 👍😎
PURA VIDA PETE,😃👍
Freakin AWESOME!!!!again
Thanks 😊
Wow! Geat!
Bro this place is epic! Is that a big hotel he’s building for people to come and stay?
Hotel/Restaurant homie!
The vine at 28:51looks like yam, Tommy said bean, are they related? I notice no cannabis in the sacred or the medicinal garden.
Love your videos especially all of the costa rica farm tours. My goal is to buy land there and start a homestead. Any advice you can impart? Right now I'm just trying to decide where in Costa Rica I want to settle.
I would reach out to my buddy Brendon with Natural living designs.

Wow wow wow! That place is amazing!!!
Really cool, great addtl. tid bits of herbal info I didn't know, too. Would like to know if there's a northern ( Wisconsin, USA ) equivalent to the dragon's blood for working quite like that, so well, for gingivitis. BTW - I think u look great without hair, Pete - tho I'm sorry u didn't to choose that, u do look great this way.
Good question on the dragons blood equivalent, I’m not quite sure. Thanks for the kind words 🤩
Amazing
Bambusa Beecheyana I’m growing that in my yard Dunnellon Florida north of you Pete.
What kind of plastic he uses for the pathways?
6:10 Isnt that a Bambus Ioka?
Did you find anything out of all that that you had to take home with you or will customs let you do that? Thanks Pete that was great, I saw a few things there that interested me but the people in this town don't seem intersted in trying anything new and intersting.
Unfortunately I had some things confiscated on this return 😬
Que linda finca tienen
Can you please tell the name of the flower Tomy eat at 29:54 ?
dear pete... what is the name of the fig you put in your stories?? many thanks
ficus auriculata
